On the trailer I'm looking to buy (Lance 1685) I'm wondering if the shower curtain could be replaced with a "glass/plastic stall" type of structure.

Is this even a modification that is attempted on any model of trailer?

You can get custom shower doors at any home improvement store. But the opening looks pretty small already between the sink and commode that I want not want anything but a curtain.

Yes, you're probably right on that. I'm just going to be worried about accidentially getting the floor area wet or moist at all.

I would be concerned with a shower that small, the glass walls would become VERY personal. I think I'd prefer some sort of extended rod system that moves the shower curtains a little further away.

On my 1685, I sealed the shower curtain to the enclosure wall with clear awning repair tape to stop water splashing past the curtain and onto the floor behind the toilet.
If you're worried about water on the floor, just put a towel down behind the commode.

There you are! Great idea! So, you don't have any trouble using the shower with the curtain. This is good to know!

I'm headed up the coast this weekend to look at the 1685, and possibly pull the trigger on one!

mogman, may I PM you with several questions that I have?

Thank you!

Sure, ask away. I will be out of town from tomorrow until Monday.
You can also join the Lance Owners Forum...lots of good info.
I will be down in your neck of the woods, 19-22 Sept. There is a Lance camper mfg. rally and factory tour held at the Acton KOA, Acton, Ca. (north of LA) The rally is sold out, but there will be lots of people to talk to.

Cheers,
Dave.

I was worried about this too. Before we ever used the camper, I got some clear silicone caulk and went over EVERY seam in the bathroom with it. Around the floor edges, around the toilet, behind the toilet, around the tub, sink, and sink cabinet. Anywhere below waist level that water could leak through to the floor.

I figured you can't use a bathroom without getting water all in it, especially one that small. So an ounce of prevention and all that.

Yeah! I will make sure to make my shower modification on the side, using the awnig repair tape and also the caulking gun! Probably will throw in some velcro tabs into the mix as well!

If you seal everything at the bottom how will you know if it's leaking under it before it's to late?
