so I am fairly new to the rv world. we bought a 2005 class A coachmen aurora. so far it has been great for us but the other day we got to our campsite and went to put the slide out, it got about 6 inches out and just stopped dead. no noise, no struggle, just stopped. My first though it to suspect a fuse or breaker but I cant find it anywhere.
So far i found a bunch of high amp circuit breakers under the hood, none of which are labeled but all looked ok. I found breakers under a panel under the oven but no slide breaker, and i have a panel with about 10 low amp blade type fuses near the switch for my slide none of which are for the slide. Where else should i be looking? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

Also, does it not retrack? Is the slide electric or hydraulic? Has it always worked correctly?

Does the house battery(s) have a good charge?

You did not say what chassis you have, but some will have two fuse boxes under the hood. One for the chassis and one for the coach. If ita a Workhorse look up high to the right of center as you are facing the coach.

I had a case of the bedroom slide would not go in one day, I did some checking and found the motor. Found there was no power at the motor or at the switch that runs the slide. I chased the wires all day. They ran inside until under the sink then went down to the frame. Joined a big bunch of wires that run up behind the engine compartment. I never did find a fuse or the end of the wire. I ended up running another power line to the motor. The switch is not powered on my rig. It's still that way today and have not had any other problem with it. Good luck

i will check batteries tonight. they indicate that they are strong but i havnt put a meter to them.

also does gfi haver anything to do with the slides? i dont know much about gfi's but the one in the bathroom when i push the buttons on it, test or reset they dont click like normal. they just push and come back out but dont act like they reset if that makes sense. everything else in the coach seems to be working

First of all your slide runs on the 12 V DC House battery and the GFI only works when you are plugged into shore power or are running the Generator which are both 120 V AC and has nothing to do with the slide out ( by the way the GFI test button will only work when you are plugged in to shore power orrunning thr gen set).. On my MH I have power gear slides and I leave the MH engine running when using the slide, with the engine running the alternator is supply about 14.1 volts to the house battery which helps the slide motor. So look for a blade type fuse labled for the slide, not a 120 V breaker. Do you have an owners manual? Might be in there where to look for another fuse panel.
