What would be considered best for dry camping? A class a, class c or 5th wheel (with external generator)?

I guess it would depend on where you want to dry camp. The class C would be the most maneuverable if that was important

Any fully self contained RV type would make for a great dry camping rig. The question is what is your idea of dry camping and what unit fits that desire?

For me, a 5'r, TT, or class A with toad would work best for me. I like to camp for a week at a time so having sufficient holding tank capacities and having a vehicle to use leaving camp setup.

I'm just wondering if there is any one with the most advantage. I'm not talking about going out in the boonies but camping at parks without hookups. I know the fiver would offer the most comfort inside. Just wondering if any of the three offers a better choice.

Also, not talking about a big diesel pusher class a either. Something along the same price line of a class c.

we dry camp with our 5er. it is more about the capacity of the tanks, and batteries, and the layout that fits your needs and preferences.

Hi,

Add some solar. Add an extra fresh water tank. The limit on the RV will be the amount of room in the black water tank.

Ditto X2 on the above 2 answers and a "built in" generator.

No particular problem with any of them but with any of them it would depend on how it is equipped.

I'd consider a nice toy hauler. Most are prepped for dry camping. Big freshwater tank, big gray tanks, built in generator, and the garage could be either a patio, bedroom, or garage for a golf cart or something.

Even when we stop racing, we'll probably always buy toy haulers. Our races are held out in the middle of open fields with nothing, but we relax with two ACs, digital TV, and enough water to shower multiple times for the four of us.
