I was told that you have to connect you in cable to receiver, that it won't work running it through cable for outside hookup on RV. I hook up the permanent satelite dish 500 to in cable and it works fine.
I hook cable up and check and have 18 volts at end of 100' cable. Why would I have to unhook cable on receiver and hook cable up to receiver and then run wire out window to Tailgator????
Anyone have a Tailgator and is this procedure necessary?

As long as there isn't a splitter in the line for Cable it will work.

Mine works by going into a dedicated Sat line built into the trailer. Whether it would work going into a Cable line, which goes to the antenna plate and all the branches, I sort of doubt it but I never tried it.
