Greetings, I am new to the forums and was hoping someone here could answer a couple of questions. I was interested in a fiver hitch that was mentioned here in one of the posts. It is a hitch that uses the existing bed bolts and requires no drilling into the bed. I have a F-250 SD TD Short box. The hitch is called "Bolt Hitch" ( the web site is http://bolthitch.com/ . The hitch they use is a Binkley. The only Binkley hitches I was able to find on the web is heavy duty air ride hitches for large fivers. The two questions I have are:
1. Has anyone here had any experience with this type of hitch mounting?
2. Has anyone had experience with the Binkley hitch?
I am planning to buy a fiver this fall or over the winter and was planning to equip my truck in the near future.. Thanks,, Bob
I suspect someone in the 5th wheel world has heard of this type of hitch and configuration your speaking of. Like you I had my hitch (not a Binkley) bolted threw the existing holes in the bed. Very clean job. Good luck.

What hitch did you get that bolted through the existing bed bolts? Is it a commercial hitch or was it fabricated by a machine shop? Is it a slider? Thanks
Curious, why are you choosing to use a Binkley over the more traditional (and common) hitches, and especially why you're choosing it instead of a slider since you do have a short bed pickup?
I've sold two previous pickups that had traditional hitches removed, and simply filled the holes with suitable carriage bolts before selling them privately without a problem. New owners really didn't care.
The Binkly 5th wheel is a commercial 12" unit with jaws like a tractor trailer that when closed completely encompass the king pin. Sold and serviced under the Holland hitches name product code FW001 rated at 32,000lbs/9000 vertical which cost less the the traditional RV stamped steel hitches. The unit is mounted to a custom mount as per your needs/specs. I had recommended this hitch for people who pull trailers of various types including their RV 5th wheel in place of a ball, changable ball or conversion hitch. One hitch, many trailers, commercially approved by DOT meeting safety standards and cheaper too. When properly mounted to your truck will endure 5 times the stress and abuse of the toughest RV hitch. I have seen them mounted to fabricated plates that slide in the traditional adjustable RV hitch tracks. Unfortunately the Holland Hitch net site does not carry the specs and info but is available at any Holland Dealer in the parts book. PK
Hi Sneaks, just seems to me that the way the BoltHitch mounts the bed of the truck is superior to the smaller cross rails. It is simpler to install and looks like it is stronger. The weight capacity of the Binkley hitch is 32k. Not that I need that much capacity, but if the rating is there, it must be a sound instalation. The "Bolthitch" comes with a Binkley 5th wheel hitch.
To better see what I am referring to, the site is: http://www.bolthitch.com
Thanks
