Has anyone stay there, the web site says they have a shuttle to the amusement park. I would like to stay there in June with a motor home, (24ft) I was wondering if anyone have any comments on this campground
I have a Hershey 2003 Vacation Guide that has a nice map of the area and things to do. Call 1-800-Hershey to get the brochure. The family and I will be staying there some time this summer so that we can go to Hershey and Dutchwonderland (Owned by Hershey). According to the brochure (when you call ask for a CG brochure) it has 2 swimming pools, kiddie wading pool, game room, playground, basketbal, volleyball and shuffleboard. The one draw back is that there is an active freight railroad that passes the campground. Otherwise it looks nice and yes there is a shuttle bus to take you to the Park

Hi, I'm RP Fan's wife, Cookie Mom. We've stayed at the Hershey Highmeadows Park Campground and, if I had a choice, would not stay there again. I'm a light sleeper and the sound of the trains running literally right next to the campground kept me awake all night until I finally fell asleep out of total exhaustion! This August we're going there only because it's a Cub Scout event with my son's den (my husband's the den leader) and they got a deal through the Scouts. I'm hoping that if I turn the air conditioner in the TT waaaaay up and put on a CD, it MAY drown out the noise from the trains!
I've been fortunate enough to stay a number of times at the Hershey Highmeadow Campground and loved it every time.
You should have plenty of room to park your 24 footer, even with the cozy campsites. You will likely be located in the pull-through section to the right of the main entrance, which is fairly well-distanced from the train tracks. I personally slept like a baby every time we stayed there, but that is usually the case any time I'm overnighting in a motorhome.
Even though the campground is nice, you will likely spend little time there anyway. Hershey has so much to offer, you'll be on the move a lot. The shuttle is well worth using, as it will save you $$$ on parking and runs frequently enough to keep you on schedule.
Be sure to do the Amusement Park, ZooAmerica, the Hershey Gardens, and the Chocolate Tour. Also squeeze in time to visit the Hotel Hershey and the Hershey Lodge, just to look around or grab a nice dinner. If time permits, a leisurely tour through downtown Hershey, either by trolley or in your car, is a lot of fun, if only to see the Hershey Kiss streetlights.
One last good deal to look for is the night-before-free-admission (I'm sorry I can't remember the official name.) If you get there early enough on a Friday, visit the park after 7 p.m. (I think) and buy your admission tickets for the next day. Then they will let you into the park for the remainder of the evening for free. It's a nice way to get in a few rides and scope the place out for your major assault on Saturday.
Have a great time!

I'll be staying at Hershey Highmeadow June 26 and 27. I'll be about as far away from the train tracks as you can get. I'll post my observations when I return.

Little to add except to confirm everything said above. We spent 4 or 5 days there last fall and would go back. Not for the campground, but for the area. We would give it a 6 on our 10 point scale.
Karen says the trains are delivering chocolate, so she will tolerate the noise!!!
