Contemplating purchasing a Fifth Wheel Tyvek/Polyproplene cover for our fiver from Camping World.
Any pro's or con's regarding this cover or the use of covers in general. The summers in the central valley of California can get very warm, some say brutal. Looking for something to protect the rig.
Thanks.

I would think they might be of more value in the North West where it rains and then rains some more from October thru June. I saw hundreds of RV's in storage in Arizona and I cant remember seeing a cover on one. Up here in the NW its not unusual to see a cover or more typically a blue tarp over the roof. I guess if I had a leak or was worried about a leaky roof I would get one. I dont think I would get one for heat reduction. Probably be good also if you live in an area with lots of trees, after six months or so a lot of debris can build up on a rig.

We bought a custom cover. After the first good heat wave the cauking on the roof stuck to the cover and when we tried to take the cover off it tore! So much for $500! Most everyone I talked to since then seemed to think that the elements do less damage than the covers.

I have the exact cover you are asking about on my 5th wheel. Used it for 3 years and no problems with roof or anything else. One hint, on mine I placed grommets about 24-30 inches apart on the bottom seam to keep the flapping down. They come with 3 tie straps which is not enough.

With the rubber roof on most 5th wheels these days, it is the sun that is our real problem. For storage, I installed a 21X39 car port for our 27RL Wildcat.

We bought ADCO cover from camping world earlier this year for our new 5ver (see sig). Have only had it on twice but it seems to fit very well and is not hard to put on and off. Be sure and get 5th wheel cover as the first one they sent us was for a class A motorhome. It didn't fit well at all so we made them send the 5ver cover. It has about 6 straps that go underneith. Hope this helps
