Sue Bray Named to 2009 RV Hall of Fame FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Affinity Group, Inc.
Thursday February 5, 2009

VENTURA, CALIF. (Feb. 6, 2009) – Affinity, the nation’s largest provider of outdoor recreation clubs, services, media and events, today announced that Sue Bray, executive director of the Good Sam Club, has been named to the 2009 RV/MH Hall of Fame.

With more than 30 years experience with the world’s largest RV owners’ membership organization, Bray is honored for her exemplary service and legislative and volunteer efforts to enhance the growth of the RV industry. The 2009 RV Hall of Fame class will be officially inducted on August 3, 2009 in Elkhart, Ind.

“During her 30-year tenure with Affinity, Sue’s leadership has helped grow the Good Sam Club organization to reach nearly one million member families, illustrating her vast knowledge of the RV marketplace and her dedication to member experience,” said Mike Schneider, president and CEO of Affinity. “I join all members of the Affinity team in congratulating Sue on this well-deserved accomplishment.”

Shortly after the RV/MH Heritage Foundation was formed in March 1972, the Foundation honored the inaugural class of inductees into the RV/MH Hall of Fame. Since that time, just 301 industry pioneers and leaders have joined the elite group. For more information, please visit www.rvmhhalloffame.org.

Bray joined the Good Sam Club in 1976, as Director of National Chapter Activities. Since taking the helm of executive director of the organization in 1979, her responsibilities have included membership benefits development, publishing the one million circulation Highways magazine (the official publication of the Good Sam Club), directing the Club’s Web site, managing the Good Sam legislative efforts, overseeing Club events, including the annual Affinity Rally, and leading local club activities, including its 2,000 local chapters. During Bray’s period as executive director, the Good Sam Club has grown from less than 200,000 members to more than one million member families.

Bray was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Interior to represent recreational users on the Bureau of Land Management’s Public National Advisory Council from 1991 to 1994, and has testified before congressional committees, state legislative bodies and local city councils. She received the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association’s Legislative Award in 1990. She is also a member of the American Society of Association Executives, on the board of directors of the American Recreation Coalition, and serves on the national advisory board of Dogs for the Deaf.
