2003 RV Business Newsmakers of the Year Announced at RV Trade Association Event FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Affinity Group, Inc.
Thursday December 4, 2003

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Every year the RV Business (RVB) staff reviews the calendar year for the North American RV industry and pinpoints the most significant stories in an effort to establish a slate of RV Business Newsmakers of the Year. A Newsmaker designation is not an award as much as it is recognition of the sheer impact that certain individuals, concepts and themes had on the industry.

The nominees included suppliers, distributors, manufacturers and others who made news and, in the process, greatly impacted the RV sector and its trade press. RV Business considered company growth among other factors and, after a lengthy review, selected the following 2003 RV Business Newsmakers of the Year for publication in RVB’s January issue:

First-Term U.S. President George W. Bush
Thor Chairman and CEO Wade F. B. Thompson
The Richards Group for the “Go RVing” Campaign
The RVDA Education Foundation’s RV Learning Center
RV Retailing Entrant Holiday Holdings Co. LLC
RV Weight Safety Advocate John Anderson
The Senior Management of Winnebago Industries Inc.
Retiring Industry Consumer Columnist Bill Farlow
Holiday Rambler Corp. Founder Richard E. Klingler
The Emerging Sport Utility Recreational Vehicle (SURV)

RV Business created an honorary Newsmaker designation for the American RV consumer this year,” said Sherman Goldenberg, Vice President/RV Trade Publications, Affinity Group, Inc., the parent of RV Business “They are certainly central to everything we do.”

“Not only do they buy everything the industry makes, the American RV consumer sets the standard for what is expected in manufacturers’ newest products in terms of style, content and quality,” continued Goldenberg. “They are the reasons for which RVs, dealerships, warranties, service and parts departments, suppliers, distributors and the Go RVing campaign exist in the first place.”
