2005 Great North American RV Rally Set for Oregon FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Affinity Group, Inc.
Thursday June 24, 2004

(Hutchinson, KS.) – The 2005 Great North American RV Rally is set for the Deschutes County Fairgrounds Expo Center in Redmond, Oregon. The event is scheduled for July 11-14.

The Great North American RV Rally is wrapping up its 5th event at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. “We had a fantastic event in Hutchinson,” said event organizer Bev Dalton. “That has certainly set the stage for another successful event in Redmond.”

RV rallies have been around for about 30 years, though they appeal to various segments of the RVing world. Some are only for motorhomes; others are for a particular model from a manufacturer so there really wasn’t an all-comers RV Rally. By uniting the interests of the various RV organizations involved, Great North American RV Rally organizers put together an excellent program of entertainment, seminars and events. Many of the experts of the RV industry make it a point of appearing and presenting at the event. So do the leading RV manufacturers, suppliers and vendors. It is one of the largest consumer RV shows of its kind.

The 2000 Rally was held in Gillette, Wyoming; the 2001 Rally was in Perry, Georgia, the 2002 Rally was in Pomona, California; and the 2003 Rally was in Louisville, Kentucky. The event attracts an average of 5,000 plus RVs and 12,000 RV enthusiasts.

The Rally creates a huge economic benefit to its host site and surrounding areas. On average each RVer spends about $101 per day while visiting a location.

Recreation vehicle (RV) travel is an ideal way to strengthen family bonds and friendships weakened by the hectic daily lives of American life, according to travel experts. Adventure, learning, convenience and affordability make it increasingly popular with people looking for vacation options that will appeal to every family member and to friends.

Rallies create communities of RVers, all with a common bond – the love of the road, a sense of adventure, desire to learn and the RV. “It’s amazing to watch new friendships form at the Rally that you know will last a lifetime,” said Dalton. “You also see many people reconnect with fellow RVers that they’ve met while camping. The Rally really does bring people together.”

“We create an environment so that our participants can park their rigs and leave the organization to us,” continued Dalton. “People at the Hutchinson Rally had nightly concerts with name entertainers, competitions, seminars and fun events that we put together. In today’s stressed-out way of living, RVing and this Rally are a great way to leave all of that behind.”

"We are thrilled about being chosen for the 2005 RV Rally," said Eric Sande, Executive Director for the Redmond Chamber of Commerce. "We know this will create a positive economic impact for our community."

The State of Oregon is the 2004 Good Sam Club Welcome Mat Award recipient for the friendliest state to visit in an RV be chosen for the next event. "We know the importance of RV travel in America," stated Sande. "The award demonstrates that our state really knows how to treat this ever-growing group of travelers."

With a panoramic view of the snow-capped Cascade range, the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center is situated on the outskirts of Redmond, Oregon just off of Hwy 97 and adjacent to the Redmond Municipal Airport. The Expo Center offers ample parking; easy access and a wide range of indoor and outdoor event areas all set on 132 artfully landscaped acres reflecting its high desert beauty.

The Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center is a 132-acre site located in Redmond, Oregon. It is placed strategically at the hub of the tri-county area (Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook Counties) together known as Central Oregon. It is 15-minutes from Bend, the largest city, 20-minutes from Prineville, 20-minutes from Sisters, 25-minutes from Madras, and 5-minutes from Redmond.

The facility is designed on a circular plot, standing at the center a person is never more than 300 yards from any one space. This Center Court is a beautiful location for any outdoor event, it features a showpiece water feature in a natural landscape setting on 3.65 acres, complete with beautifully manicured grass, ponds, cascading waterfall, and windmill. The facility has a total of over 100 acres of parking and boasts up to 85% of the grounds beautifully manicured with landscaped lawns.

The Rally is sponsored by the Good Sam Club, Camping World President’s Club, Coast to Coast Resorts, Woodall’s and MotorHome and Trailer Life magazines.
