of Michigan.
I love to be off work this time of year. The weather has cooled and kids are back in school. We took a little ride up Lake Michigan looking for fall color and small parks. Plenty of both.
We stopped at a little township park near LaPorte In.
Then on to Spicer Lake near New Carlisle In.
I did'nt realize there were dolphins in the great lakes.
The lighthouse at St. Joseph Mi.It's incredible how rough the lake can get on windy days.
If these guys even think you have something to eat, they just mob you.
We stayed that night on my wifes's family property in Allegan and got these images the next morning on Lake Allegan.
After Breakfast, we started up towards Holland Mi. and stopped in a little community park near Hamilton
[image]
The creek is a tributary of the Kalamazoo River and there were a couple fellas fishing. they had good luck.
The wife wanted to see an exhibit of early Bob Dylan photos at the Holland Museum. I think she knows every lyric he ever wrote. The museum was fun. They had a lot of stuff from Hollans's early days.
This trip is what I had envisioned a TC was capable of. No trouble parking anywhere.
This is the lighthouse at Holland Mi.
How beautiful lake Michigan really is.
There was color to be sure. View from the top of the dunes at Tunnel Park just north of Holland.
The reason for the name of the park.
I don't have anything to feed you guys.!
The lighthouse at Muskegan MI.
The obligatory TC picture.
This black squirrell followed us all around western Mi.
Friday, Lake Michigan was a lot calmer.
We had lunch at a little park in Douglas. Again, no parking probs.
The highway just keeps unwinding.
We left the lake and went over to Hastings where there is a pioneer village.
There are displays of old building like carpenter shop and bank, seamstress. School house.
The school marm.
And this unruly student.
That doggone squirrel!
We went to a haunted forest Friday night. Again the best parking. This ranger made sure thet I could just drive right out.
Saturday we ended up at swap meet near Middlebury In. The big hats were thick. As were the buggies. Really had to watch where you were stepping.
We have tons of photos of township, county and community parks that we visited as well as the state parks we went to. It surprised me that we were alone at these places but, I bet we did'nt see ten people all told at any of them.
WEll like I always say at the end of these trip reports, you don't have to go far or spend a lot of cash to have a good time with a TC.
Thanks for looking.

Had to laugh at the Scipio Park Rules. No Loitering!!! Nope, don't even think about sitting on that bench and enjoying the park!!!! [emoticon]

Wow, very nicely done! Great pictures from one of my favorite areas! Thanks for posting. (One correction, however: the lighthouse and pier you've identified as Muskegon is actually Grand Haven, is it not?)

You're right brirene, it is Grand Haven. Thanks for catching that.

Great photos. Isn't this a wonderful time of year to be out rambling around? We'd never seen black squirrels until we went to Niagra Falls. Odd to see a familiar animal black.
