Okay everyone, it is time to review last year and talk about plans for the next. How about joining me in reviewing your travels from last year and plans for the next.
Our camping year started out kind of cold. In mid February we packed up the truck camper and headed for the Rio Grand Valley.

From Texas we headed on over to Cajon Country. We found that Louisiana state parks honor the federal senior passes. Wow. We really enjoyed this area since it was completely new to us. We especially enjoyed Abesville and some of the surrounding areas.

I had read about Betty's on a rving blog and had to try it. It is great. Betty treats you like family and they have happy hour every evening under the patio cover.

From Cajon country we headed toward the Natchez Trace and spent some time around St. Francisville.

Spring meant some camping and hiking on the Ozark Trail.

After we were home for a few weeks it was time to take the grandkids camping. We went to Longview Campground, a county park near Kansas City. What an experience.

Picked up a teardrop for our daughter in Denver and had to take it out to her. Hey, it isn't a truck camper but you have to start someplace.

Cute teardrop

Next came a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks with the kids and grand kids at at place called Cross Creek Campground.

A short trip to Santa Fe during the summer followed, just for the fun of it.

Fall came all too fast. Made a couple of trips to a nearby conservation area with a nice campsite, no hook ups. It did have a fishing lake though and it is free, my favorite kind. Our initial trip was an exploratory trip for a group get together later in October.

The final trip of the year was back at Daniel Boone CA but with our friends and a visit to Hermann, Missouri famous for it's wineries.

Plans for this coming year include a trip to Quartzsite, never been and have to go. I guess that one will be solo. This summer a trip to Denver and then up to Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone with a swing by Teddy Roosevelt NP, and then in the fall a trip to New England up the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Ain't truck camping great :-).

Bought the 5th wheel after the labor day trip.

We had a great year
flew into Houston end of May-----bought an '06 Dodge/cummins dually---bought a 11.5ft Lance in Oklahoma --picked up Route 66----drove to LA---stayed with friends over 4th July near San-Fransisco and lake Taho-----drove to Calgary in time for end of Stampede-----drove to Coldfoot AK, and stayed in AK for a month----travelled back through Bamff/Jasper into Montana-----then to Ontario via Cody/Mt. Rushmore-------Niagra falls back into USA (avoiding Detroit) accross to Chicago-----pick up R66 again and back to El Reno where we started it.-------the saddest part of the trip was heading back to Houston---for our flights home-----YESTERDAY we got the truck/camper registered in England--------ready for it's trip next year------travelling in England all summer then heading to Portugal for the cold part of next winter-------returning to England via Morroco/Turkey/Bulgaria and a whole list of old Eastern Bloc countries.--------Ready for summer of 2012 in England.
We do live in a 5er--so a lot of the English bit will be in that.-------A t/camper is much more practical in mainland Europe IMHO
A very happy Christmas to y'all
Nigel & Pamala
BTW we think AK (and Yukon) are VERY special

Boy Larry, being from Missouri you sure are a get around town kind of guy.

Last year started out great but fizzled for us late fall. I can't tell right now what 2011 will be like, too many issues to deal with, price of fuel and work, or lack of. At least we're going out for a quickie the day after xmas, that much I know.

Looks like the others already posted get around town too! Guess I'm a local guy...

I'm retired, so that makes a lot of difference. Judging from your trip reports I would say that what you lack in quantity you make up for in quality.

I hope to get to the Devil's Chasm this spring after reading your trip report.

Hope you have fun on your Christmas trip.
Larry
