RE: New truck and TC.

Welcome back to the TC fold! Those Hosts are nice but huge. Guess if you're downsizing from a 41' FW that'll ease the shock :B I haven't looked at RAMs since I bought mine in '08 but from what I hear their capacities have significantly increased. Will be interested in reading what folks have to say here although I'm happy with my "little" Bigfoot.

RE: FOB keys and theft

Interesting discussion. I've been driving through the entire key-to-keyFOB-to-keylessFOB evolution. In most auto thefts around here the vehicle is unlocked and oftentimes the "key" has been left in the car. For me its automatic to lock my car and take the "key" with me. Have wondered about the possibility of someone intercepting and using the signal from the keylessFOB for my car. These kind of discussions are good as they get one thinking and asking questions. There's a wide range of technology out there and misconceptions mixed with good info so its good to hash it all out, hopefully cordially. In the end, it's probably worthwhile to talk to a reputable local expert on your particular vehicle. One additional story on a personalized auto theft prevention device. I owned a station wagon on which the wiring to the fuel pump, located in the rear, went bad. I never needed the rear windshield wiper so Dad rerouted that wire to the fuel pump. I thought it was neat to as this also served as an anti-theft device. All I had to do was turn off the rear wiper when I parked the car. If someone broke in, hot-wired it, and tried to drive off they wouldn't get far before it died and they were sure to then abandon the "piece of junk". Of course I forgot to turn the "rear wiper" on one time and found out exactly how far a thief would get :D

RE: Bigfoot owners, Does your camper have this bottom panel ?

Its like a scavenger hunt. Bigfoot provides a bunch of spare parts with their units but hides them in out-of-the-way places. So far I've found numerous screws, a hydraulic strut (for upper cabinet door), and a furnace vent. I spotted the latter in the bottom of the bathroom cabinet 10 years ago but couldn't get it out until last year when I pulled the water heater to replace it. As to the original question, I bought my unit new and it too has the removable panels on the bottom. I'd like to ask a question of my own on that. For those who have removed it, what did you use to seal when you replaced it?

RE: TR: Utah, parks, friends and a few weeks with my wife

A nice trip report! Seems we don't have as many of them posted since the Photobucket difficulties a number of years ago. I made a trip with my parents 30 years ago in the opposite direction of yours, going from Yellowstone NP down to Grand Canyon NP. Moab was a nice little town back then. We took a ferry across Lake Powell at Bullfrog and drove up the dirt road through Capitol Reef. It was washboardy but not as bad as the one you describe. Thanks for jump starting some good memories.

RE: I Went Camping With Five Girls!

Very nice! We have some of those mounds around here but much smaller.
