My '03 lance 835 extended cabover came within an 1.5 inches to the cab lights and Lance told my I needed 3 to be safe. This was my solution. I purchased (2) 3/8" rubber bed mats and sandwiched between them was a solid Dow foam board that measured 3/4" thick. This gave me the suggested 3". steve

Put one of these in your bed. Add a sheet of 1/2" plywood and your problems are over

This came up when I asked about what year lance changed the size of there campers to clear the narrow tailgate opening. I have a 05 F-350 crew and 06 835 and have never had it hit the cab when off road. So my question is all the people that have this clearance problem also have the cab lights? I didn't get the cab lights when I ordered my truck. So lets hear it cab lights=clearance problem?

Pink insulation foam from home depot. I used it for a few years with my old camper. Its light and durable. I did the wooden frame thing for awhile but it was so heavy and hard to get outta the bed. The foam weighs very little and is easy to store. Use the pink insulation its denser that the blue and it wont compress too much. I was skeptical at first about the foam, but im here to tell ya it worked great for 25,000 miles.

Yes-It is a cab light issue in my opinion. My dually came standard with the cab lights and there would be enough space if they were not on the truck. Steve

Thanks Steve, I have been real worried about mine hitting the roof of my truck. This is my first new truck and don't want anything bad to happen.

Nice guide and riser frame, 'Popkorn'. I saved a copy of the picture for future reference.
