How do these trucks compare to each other, they look pretty similar, what are the differences? I am lookin to buy a used truck soon and there sure are alot more 250's than 350's to choose from. I have a 9.5 S&S camper and currently haul it on an 88 F250. I am looking for 1997 thru 2002 crewcab 4x4,(want to stay with the 7.3).

I've done some checking and there is no suspension or drivetrain difference in a SRW f350 and an F250. Someone said brakes were bigger, but I have no verified that. I think you would be happier with DRW F350 with a TC. It would be much more stable with less sway.

I have been told by two ford service mangers that the only difference is the 350 has a little heavier springs. Everything else is interchangable. From what I can see comparing the two they are right.

When I was buying my truck My daughter said "trucks don't need hips!" My truck is SRW, but the value of her input was "0".

250- 2" blocks under spring pack
350- 4" blocks under spring pack

I think but do not quote me you will find the tire ratings are higher on the 350.

On the year ranges you are considering I am not sure but I think the brakes are the same.

Legally for the price differance witch is minamal new anyway the 350 is a better bet.

You will not have a problem with a srw f 350 with that camper. I have carried an 11.6' lance on 3 different ones ranging from on 87 to an 02 and now an 06.

As far as the years you are considering, my 02 was bulletprooof with the 7.3. Not one major problem.
