After looking at the few ones that are commercially made and not any of them made with what I'd in mind. I went ahead and made my own setup,others like myself may not want to spend the high cost of the commercial unit. Here's some pictures of what I put together.
Started out by fastening 2 unistrcut rails to the existing roof rails;

I use a left over piece of 5/8 plywood, drilled hole in it and put T-nuts in them.

Add a little paint and mount this to the unistruct rails.

Next I fasten milk crates (free)to the plywood using bolts,washers to the T-nuts.

With this setup I can carry wood,extra fuel,my portable barbecue and best of all it cost me under 50 dollars

Thats a great idea, I'm going to go look at the top of my camper to see if I can do the same thing. Extra wood is the problem I am having transporting to the camp site.

Where did you find the plastic crates?
