hi all TC friends,
I want to announce that we will start our trip to the deserts and canyons of the "great west" at Monday next week. We will have the great honour to meet "Grand Whazoo", too, who already has given us so many tips for our (short) trip to the national parks.
If it will be possible, we will post some photos of our trip.
So, if you meet a C25 motorhome of CruiseAmerica with a 4 person family may be that we are your TC friends from Germany.
We will start at Phoenix - Grand Canyon - Las Vegas and then visiting as many as possible nat. parks with direction to Denver where we leave at 5th of November.
Hope to meet somebody of RV.NET [emoticon]

Happy travels. Deserts are special. My husband is of the opinion if you have seen one you have seen them all. BUT I love the desert, you just have to look a little harder to see the beauty.

You're gonna LOVE it. There's nothing like the American southwest. Lots of history and plenty of places to get away from people. Have a GREAT trip.

I study biology as a hobby and I love deserts for the surprises they hide. The harsh environment of low moisture, high winds, and extreme temperature variations lead to some neat biological niches. My advice to anyone going into the desert is to look down often. You'll be surprised at the huge variety of small plants, animals, and insects you'll find. Tiny microcosms of life just a few square feet in size form like little islands in a vast earth-toned sea.

Have a great trip -- and use caution concerning any 'tips' Whazoo gives you.

I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family Felix, and sending you off for a grand exploration of the southwest. Don't listen to Cal, I give good tips. Sure you can do the White Rim Trail in your motorhome.[emoticon]

Sure you don't want to loop through Tennesssee? We don't have any deserts but we do have desserts aplenty. If that isn't enough there's the Jack Daniels Distillery. No? OK, I'll have to agree that the area you'll be touring is a good choice. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos and reading of your impressions [emoticon]

You have picked a great time of the year to see the deserts. The weather here in Las Vegas is beautiful this time of the year and you MAY be able to go the whole time without needing the furnace or the heater. Post here the day before you get here and I will PM you .
