RE: Awning LED Light Strip

Please reconsider exterior lighting! With many folks lighting up the campground we’re losing the camping experience of watching for shooting stars, satellites & planets. Then with the use of lighting, TV’s, stereos, etc the generators are coming on disturbing another camping experience - the quiet not found in the cities from which the campers came… or maybe I’m wrong but I thought that camping was to get away from all that stuff?

RE: Places to fill with fresh water and clever ways to fill ..

I made my own with some different size heater hoses , hose adapters & garden hose end along with some clamps to hold onto the water spigot, had to use it this week under pressure…

RE: Fuel Tank Refurb

…. I’d look for a well equipped Radiator Shop in your area to check it out and advise; sealing a fuel tank takes a lot of work to clean PROPERLY prior to coating the inside if’s you don’t want the coating to peal off in the future. And a properly placed drain flange on the fuel tank will make draining excess coating from the tank easier… Maybe UTUBE can help? I’ve done a few thousand fuel tanks in my life…

RE: Stable Camper anti-rocking system

…. We have 6 RV stackable screw jacks ( Amazon ) & 3 - 2” X 4” boards; 1 board across front , middle & back… NO movement & camper is supported from the bottom, not the sides. Low cost effective solution!…If’s interested PM & I’ll send pictures.

RE: RVLock Keyless

We’re FT for 4 1/2 years and have never had a problem with the factory keyed locks on either RV, personally save the $$$ for fuel & alcohol…..

RE: Opinions on lightweight portable inverter/generators

We have solar on the roof & good AGM batteries; have only used our 2200 Honda less than 25 hours in 2 years of Full Timing; we also have a suitcase solar setup on a long cord for when parked in shady locations..... If’s you’re gonna be camping in really cold weather then you might have more need for a generator...Honda is more expensive, BUT, is repairable, has known reliability, higher resale value & not made in Communist China... Points to ponder.....

Obesity in America

In 2020, 83 percent of men and 72 percent of women will be overweight or obese. Currently, 72 percent of men and 63 percent of women are overweight or obese (people who are overweight have a BMI of 25 to 29, people who are obese have a BMI of 30 or greater).... Interesting...And I don’t think it’s getting any better...

RE: Besides Amazon where?

I like Amazon & if’s for whatever reason you need to return something it’s really, really painless & simple... And their choices are Huge!... user friendly website & App...Walmart could use a BUNCH of attention to get me excited... Have used some of the names mentioned, but, Amazon for simplicity, fast delivery, choices, etc...

RE: US 395 in California

Bridgeport diesel is currently $5.49, I’d say that is not a place for fuel if one can easily avoid it....the dump station is $20.... Have camphosted in the area and all the locals go up to Gardnerville for food & fuel on a regular basis....

RE: US 395 in California

U might consider Hwy 88 from Modesto to Gardnerville; scenic, lots of camping options, get gas in Gardnerville ( 70 cents less than CA )... Then down 395...Some great county & BLM camping & you could even enter Yosemite from the east for a day or so... Don’t plan on getting fuel in Bridgeport or Lee Vining unless U own a gold mine... Have been down that route 10 times in last few months....

RE: highway 49 California

We live very near the park in Columbia, have driven our 30’ Class A gasser towing; semi’s drive it daily; as a courtesy you might pull over occasionally for faster traffic; it’s not a flat straight road for sure......

RE: I can't figure out how to use Recreation.gov

RE: Operational problems with new diesel pickups

We have a 2019 GMC Duramax Denali DRW with 40+K miles on the Isuzu designed engine....Absolutely trouble free miles... I DO NOT let the engine idle for any length of time, I turn off & on as needed.... NO codes, NO issues.... And the power going up hills & the exhaust brake for coming down hills is the best!!!! It’s the LP5 engine with the 6 speed Allison; I hear that the new 10 speed is smoother than glass....
