RE: Replace air conditioner

YouTube will help. If it is a non-ducted rooftop AC it's not much more than removing four bolts and undoing the electrical connection after you take the trim piece off the bottom. Before putting on the new one you'll use a new gasket and tighten everything down and hook the wires back up and you're done.

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

Changing lines won't change sequence. Lightest or least resistance goes out first. Heaviest last. Same on retraction lightest first heaviest last. Pump is pushing fluid to all 3 cylinders at the same time. Not sure if used anymore but some units a few years back had a manifold near the hyd pump with manual valves you could block off individual slides. Retractable Landing gears of older airplanes and war birds are similar. If you've ever watched a landing gear transit it can be anything but smooth sometimes as the gear with the least resistance at the time moves then the other. They also didn't put any bigger of a pump than necessary for weight concerns

RE: Hemi to be replaced by inline six?

It won't always.

RE: What is your speed uphill?

I tow a 30' Toy Hauler filled with 3 dirt bikes, 100G water, generators, fire wood, fuel, ect and with my old truck on uphills I have to drop it out of overdrive so tend to be around 45-55mph uphill. Our trailer has flipped axels and while it pulls fine at 65 it tends to get a bit squirrelly so I don't push it even on the flats.

RE: Would $7 per gal effect your RV lifestyle?

Gas prices and Inflation will effect how I vote but not if I travel.

RE: Towing mileage/capability

A 90s era dodge diesel pickup would tow better and give better mpg. That TT has too much frontal area for a Traverse or similar with v6, based on my experience with a Highlander. Is what I use and daily drive, a 1992 Dodge D250 5spd. No computers, no sensors, no smog check. Just a engine, a battery and a key. Few years ago we pulled a 18' toy hauler over 4,000 miles and nailed down 14.68 MPG hand calculated. There are many things you give up though with older vehicles. Safety is the big one.

RE: Locating In-Bed 7-Pin

Mines home made and my truck is old but I chose driver's side and just infront of the fender well about half way up.

RE: Toyota Tundra vs Ford F150 Hybrid Fuel Economy Tests

Why would Toyota even waste the money making a hybrid for 2 more mpg? What a waste of money.

RE: Rivian Electric Truck takes on the Ike Gauntlet

and I guess I'll keep my 30 year old Dodge a while longer. There something about having a 300+ mile range that's makes getting somewhere before sunset possible. It looks like their truck overheated the battery/motor/? systems and did not recharge on the way down the hill much at all. Also why would they not put the trailer brakes on 1 or 0 so the truck does most if not all the slowing? Sure it wouldn't be safe but it would bump up the regen numbers not having the trailer brake it's self and you know dang well people will be doing that when they figure out the range problem and actually start towing with electric trucks.

RE: Bought a second truck.

If you got time throw another hose clamp on each end of the rad hoses. Two is always better than one and gives you a spare in case one let's go.

I've got a set of 390 fender badges in my shop. For the life of me I can not remember what they came off of ??

It's ok they are saving the planet with their EV.

RE: Bought a second truck.

If the rear is full floating they are pretty easy to work on but be ready for a drum that weighs about 47 pounds. I upgraded my rear brakes to wider shoes and bigger Chevy wheel cylinders. I also bypassed the ABS but doubt your old girls got that.

RE: Bought a second truck.

Sweet truck. My first was a 1972 F100 step side. Our neighbor had a Highboy back then kinda the same color as yours. It's fun working on and spending money on our old rigs. They are easy to work on and relatively cheap to do so. Every once in a while I'll throw some money into mine. The next thing on my to do list is probably a injection pump tear down to reduce the fuel a little bit and change the hub seals on the rear axle.

RE: KOA Installing EV Chargers

I hope the costs are not passed on to all sites. I'd hate to pay a higher camping fee to pay for the EV chargers I am not using.

RE: Fuel consumption too high?

Perfectly acceptable for the speed at which your towing.

RE: Rivian towing efficiency

Sounds like less than 50 miles pulling a parachute. Right now EV just isn't there for towing long distance imo. Stopping often to top off the batteries to go 500 miles in total is a joke.

RE: Transmission cooler options

I believe all aftermarket cooler manufacturers recommend their coolers be put in before the factory radiator so it can warm the fluid back up if overcooled or then help cool it more if severely over heated.
