RE: Onan Microlite 4000 Generator Issue

Same Gen in our 2005 Forest River. The start buttons need to be held down to Stop for 3-5 seconds to prime the fuel system. There is a indicator light that goes out when it's ready to start. Also oil level is critical on these generators. Check the oil level, it is low it will not run.

RE: New Truck 4x4 or 4x2 ??

If you have no use for it you have no use for it. By some chance if you ever get stuck somewhere you'll just have to wait for a tow. I've towed our toy hauler off road a few times and never needed a 4wd.

RE: Tow Vehicle for 10k bumper pull

Even my old 1st Gen Dodge is rated to pull 11,600 so I would hope any modern 3/4 ton could do it too and if I was only going to pull a few times a year would go with a 3/4 ton.

RE: Rewiring a landscape trailer

Hazard Fraught has a LED trailer lite kit that has front marker lights with it. Should have plenty of included wire for a 12' trailer.

RE: Facebook Marketplace - looking for an RV.

We bought out new to us 30' Toy Hauler off FB Marketplace. The seller was more than willing to email and text us additional details and all the photos we wanted. No problem with getting in contact with owner and asking for more details and pics.

RE: Are Travel Trailers selling at all right now?

The toy hauler we just bought was used and I heard the PO mention paying some bills with the money. Of course he also mentioned wanting a bigger one ??

RE: Are Travel Trailers selling at all right now?

We just bought a 30' toy hauler to replace our 18' toy hauler and will leave the 18' behind the house till prices come back up. Being in SoCal it will sell next desert season but I'm not taking less than it's worth.

RE: 1974 Chevy Truck Comparison to Ford

Toyota has really bad paint too, always seeing the clear peeling on them.

RE: Watcha working on?

Working on cleaning and fixing a few things on our 2015 Sand Sport so we can sell it and also changing over ALL lighting on the 2005 Forest River toy hauler we just bought to LED as well as putting in 2 more floor anchor points, a new memory foam mattress and going to install a door in the hallway to enclose the bed from the kitchen and garage area. Other than that I'm slowly getting my Fastback running again. It still needs new tires, seats, gas tank and paint.

RE: Best Inverter Generator under $500 for a TC

Another Honda. Should be able to find one used for under $5, change the oil and service the carb. Cant get better than that. I sort of like my Yamaha's but they are now built in Mexico. My older one, of the same size and model was built in Japan.

RE: 25ft Toy Hauler Suggestions

There is a Forest River Sierria T23 also but I do not know the length including hitch. They actually are Sierra Sports, without the Sport they are a travel trailer. The Sport makes it a Toy Hauler.

RE: Flipping my axle!

Our axles are flipped and everytime we go to the desert I think about cutting out the wheel well arches inside the trailer and making it one big flat floor from wall to wall.

RE: My have things changed

The top fuel dragsters he is talking about only go 1000 ft, not a quarter mile. Never heard of such a thing. Since when? Had to look it up as I did not know either but since July, 2008 after Scott Kalitta was killed.

RE: 25ft Toy Hauler Suggestions

For a family of 5 I see the need for a slide/s but with modern building standards I feel they will be more trouble than they are worth. While a bit older our Forest River Sierra toy hauler is labeled as a T26 and is just a few inches under 30' hitch to bumper. With two adults up front there is three separate beds in back, assuming using the fold down benches. The big bed that lower down though could easily sleep 4 small kids by itself.

RE: Optimism in the RV Industry

I'm optimistic they will build something truly worth the money.

RE: My have things changed

I'm still rockin around 200HP/440TQ lol Since we replaced our smaller 20' toy hauler with a 30' I'm considering a axle change and going to a 5spd+2 just to keep things reasonable. Also shifting 5 times before making it through the intersection will make it seem like another day at work.

RE: Average monthly rates?

In Quartzsite Arizona, it's FREE. BLM land. 1,000's go there for the whole winter. We just got back from a trip to BLM SoCal land and there are hundreds of RVs out there that are snowbirds. Just east of Borrego Springs is a very popular spot for them.

RE: Soft spots in floors

Leaks can also happen around the door, the shower pan, windows and also all other penetrations like the power cord, water inlets, heater vent, ect. I am currently replacing two sections of floor in a trailer that had a unknown shower leak and a window leak.
