RE: Verizon Visible Ghost Phone

That's the one downside of Visible is that they only support a limited number of phone models. I couldn't use my preferred phone, a Samsung Note, on their service. Had to switch to my iPhone as my primary phone. Miss the built-in stylus as I'm a terrible at using the touch keyboard.

RE: 600kbps = unuseable

I'm surprised you even got that speed? Most would fall back to near dial-up. IMO, mobile providers do this on purpose to frustrate you into upgrading your 4G data allowance? Even though, they could provide much faster fall back speeds without impacting their networks. I'm still evaluating Verizon's Visible on my iPhone, which has no set data allowance limits on 4G LTE. Getting 140Mbps down. Though primarily use my iPhone as a backup to another 4G LTE router from another provider, and for when traveling to remote work into to my workstation at the office.

RE: Verizon Visible Ghost Phone

Both my Android and iOS phones are set to use WiFi first when connected. If WiFi is not available, it will switch to mobile data. Visible has no set limits on 4G LTE data use, and I'm getting around 140Mbps down. Phones supported list here. Most people I've mentioned about Visible switched over from their existing Verizon service, and has said they couldn't tell a difference. Visible was also the easiest mobile service to self activate and port my existing phone no. from their website. They also have very responsive phone support in my opinion.

I see this popup every once and a while when using 'preview' post.

RE: security page.. new?

It's part of Cloudflare, which must have triggered one of their 'possible bot' algorithms.

RE: another WINDOWS 10 MS OFFICE 2016 question

I'd agree. Download the .doc file and open in Word. Don't preview in your email (Outlook?).

RE: Website Q - SSL certificate?

Personally, I would elect to secure (encrypted) a website to avoid some of the issues mentioned. Are you using shared hosting? Fairly common these days to include either a universal or personal certificate with shared hosting plan. Since Chrome has now become the most used browser, you don't want your visitors to see the warning below? It suggests your site as being suspicious, and users will rarely bypass the warning to your site. Though should only appear if your site has fields that can pass potentially personal info unencrypted. If this warning does not appear, then I don't think many visitors even notice the URL flag as a Not Secure site. https://i.imgur.com/vZ6BIufl.png "border='1'" Another option if you want your site secured is to open a free Cloudflare.com account. Basically, all traffic is passed through its reverse proxy servers. Your webpages appear secured, and offers additional protection against hacker attacks as they won't have direct access to your website. However, traffic from Cloudflare.com to your site will still be unencrypted.

RE: Hulu, or something similar?

"I’m wondering if I can plug it to iPhone?" If you can find an iPhone connections conversion cable/connector to ethernet/LAN Maybe, but i DON'T know if that's available They do have these adapters for iPad as tablets are popular as kiosk. Should work with iPhone?

RE: Hulu, or something similar?

Look at Verizon Visible for $40. month. Unlimited 4G data and hotspot. No set data throttling. Caveat, it works with a limited number of smartphones.

RE: Email Address Under Contact Not Working

The easiest way is to send a PM to 'admin'.

RE: Email Address Under Contact Not Working

That contact link hasn't worked in years. I'd prefer if GS would just disable it? Is your question/request related to the forums or Good Sam?

RE: Message contains invalid formatting?

This is most often caused by not properly closing tags, less than two pairs (4) of brackets. For instance: [IMG]some-url.com[/IMG: Since there are only three (3) brackets, you will get that forum error message. : This is correct as there are four (4) brackets.

RE: Spell check

It's redundant if you are using popular browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, or IE. They all have spell checkers.

RE: Reviews or model advice

Not specifically. Best to ask questions regarding models in the Fifth-Wheels Forum.

RE: Memory leak with Firefox?

No, not really seeing memory leak through memory usage appears higher than previous versions. Firefox is releasing memory, slow in my case. In fact, seeing 603MB with 2-tabs open, one being media heavy. In Chrome, which is also open, I'm currently using 1,500 MB. Though on Adobe Max streaming webinars all day, not really surprising? BTW, Adobe Max is free this year, which ends today. Many of the workshop sessions will still be available on-demand. Helpful expert tips if you are using Adobe CC apps. Are you using any Firefox add-on/extensions which can be a source of memory leaks? You can try restarting in 'Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled'. And check if memory leaks still exists? Also, modern websites rely heavily on media and scripting, and poorly written scripts in particular, can result in browser memory leaks.

RE: Where's the old threads?

I just used 'fisherguy wfco' and got hits. Using the 'rv.net' search criteria limits returned results to the forum. When I use your method, I also received results from other websites?

RE: Where's the old threads?

My conjecture is that the even though the database records exist, advanced search is not retrieving them due to an issue with the legacy forum software? It's likely the result of the forum software no longer auto archiving threads. Forum search is not returning these records as one of the criteria is threads tagged archived? I would think removing this criteria from advanced search, and simply return records that are over one-year old would fix the issue? Use Google Search in this format: site:rv.net Fisherguy In many cases, Google Search will return a text or print version of the thread? In order to see the original forum thread, just append the end of the URL by removing "/print/true": BEFORE: https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/29272123/print/true.cfm AFTER: https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/29272123.cfm You can use Google to further refine your search criteria.

RE: T mobile internet

BTW, I cut the cord nearly 15 years ago. Got tired of poor customer service, and never ending increasing fees from cable operators. Too much a monopoly in my area, no incentive to improve? Have been wireless since. With a number of streaming services available, not an issue for some time now.
