RE: Verizon 5g as hotspot if anyone has it yet

Try driving US 2 in Montana for example. And 5G would require something like 5 or 6 towers per mile to work, assuming no interference like hills and such. This is beginning to remind me of something similar to Edison's DC electric plants?

RE: Verizon 5g as hotspot if anyone has it yet

My office is located within the largest 5G area on the National Mall in DC, as indicated by Verizon. Though no one in my office has a 5G capable phone yet? In any case, may be a good senario for us, as the mobile cos. prefer to park their trailer/antenna 4G rigs on our property, as we have unobstructed coverage area on the Mall. Not really interested in a 5G phone myself, at this time.

RE: SpaceX Starlink Update

Then again, I admit I'm a fan of Musk. Sure, he can be a bit flamboyant at times. But instead of sitting on his **** with the money he made from PayPal - he's out doing things that many people, and large companies, said could not be done. Tesla? Sure, it was certainly a game changer for the Auto industry and Electric Cars in general. But what is being done with Space X, I feel, is very impressive. He puts his money and mind behind his talk - and get's things done... Many may feel differently:)! I agree, he doesn't fit the typical mindset of most CEOs. Tesla was definitely a game changer, with other manufacturers racing to catch up. If anything, Tesla is not charging, no pun intended, enough for their cars? Finally making a profit last quarter, though having to sell 97,000 cars to do so? Elon Musk also made Tesla patients open-source for other manufactures own electric vehicle development use. Most all manufacturers are scheduled to introduce new all-electric versions in 2020. I recently experienced the Porsche Taycan TurboS a few weeks ago at their new factory west coast training facility. IMO, the most beautiful Porsche I've seen to date both inside and out, with mind boggling performance. Though at $200k+ w/options, out of the range of most of us including myself. Making Tesla look like a bargain?

RE: States visited and Rig picture not displaying

Testing Signature on RV.NET. Appears to work? I'm not seeing a Signature photo in your Profile? Make sure the photo is no larger than 500wx100h pix, and not greater than 30k size?

RE: Closed threads re web problems.

I've had never changed mine from 40/20, and have rarely experienced the error messages on any of the portals. Unfortunately, I think it has more to do with the back-end servers, then anything that members can control on their end.

RE: .Options for Highspeed Internet Anywhere (Data Intensive)

o Wireless Internet Accessible at 99% of all locations in the US. o 10 GB per day without reduced download speeds. o Download speeds of 50 mbps. o Upload speeds of 10 mbps. Finding 99% 'wireless' accessibility is not realistic? Adding your other requirements make this almost impossible? If you do find such a service provider, you can expect it to involve some extreme fees. I'll bet Amazon AWS has DaaS as an option. I agree this makes more sense. You'd just need the connection to access your virtual desktop. What is actually causing you to require such high wireless bandwidth?

RE: POP vs IMAP..should be easy but..

Generally, POP email protocol was meant to download email from the server to local PC once. Therefore, not all devices may even see the email once it's been downloaded by that one device. Is that what you want? Whereas, IMAP is designed to see the same email from multiple devices as it syncs and caches from the email server. You may be able to configure your POP email to keep the original email on the server, but will have to know how to do so?

RE: Closed threads re web problems.

I'm assuming the threads were closed as they were all essentially referring to the same forum issues. It can be more efficient when troubleshooting similar issues to monitor related comments in a single thread?
