RE: http://code.jquery.com/?

Haven't seen it myself, though JQuery is a JavaScript library used by developers to built functional elements in web sites. A popular use is for popups (modal) or video with darkened background? It saves time manually coding to achieve similar results, and use it myself on my enterprise sites. My guess is the forums is getting JQuery library from CDN, and is not being loaded or blocked for some reason? Could be a security setting is blocking CDN, such as the firewall?

RE: Good Sam's Logo

I was wondering how they knew ... From our email address? Yes, if your email address you used to sign up for the Open Roads Forums matches the one you used for Good Sam.

RE: Electric Bikes???

Bought the first production run of the Sondors Smart Step below, a foldable e-bike from one of the larger direct to consumer manufacturers. Parts are readily available which was an important consideration? Shipping was also included via UPS, and comes mostly assembled so was quick and straightforward. Though don't have enough miles yet to determine long term reliability? https://i.imgur.com/ZfS27lRl.jpg width=400px

RE: Archive Search Results Only Shows 2013 & Older

I believe it's an issue with how the forum indexes searches which is broken? Use Google Search instead in the form of site:rv.net subject of search should return results 2013-2019 if they exist?

RE: Internet

https://i.imgur.com/Hidbl2m.png width=400 I've been using this MoFi 4G LTE router for many years now. Never had an issue with it running 24/7. It uses a 4G data micro SIM card provided by your network provider. You have 4-Ethernet ports available, though can add more routers/switches as needed? I keep my PC/notebooks and smart TV connected via Ethernet, and use WiFi for tablets/smartphones. I also prefer Ethernet as the signal is more consistent, and not subject to additional radio interference associated with WiFi. RE: I'm going to replace my Note 4 with ?

I still have 3 Samsung Note 4 on different networks. The main reason I resist upgrading is that it has built-in IR, so can control all my wireless devices, including legacy models. Came in handy at work when I forget to bring the remote for our new ceiling mounted Panasonic laser projectors in our conference rooms, as the Medialon touchscreen control was still being installed. Took less than a minute to add Panasonic to my Android remote app, which gave full operation/setup control. I've been told that Samsung dropped IR in smartphones due to complaints of people changing the channels at sport bars/restaurants? Though don't know if this is true? I also like the fact that you can easily replace the battery, and have added internal wireless charging pads to all my Note 4. Just drop the Note 4 in a wireless charging cradle at home/work. The Note 4 processor/screen res. are both still fairly comparable to newer models. So personally, not motivated to upgrade mine.

RE: Forum having difficulties?

All these moderators and this isn't fixed yet? Been going on way to long I'll just confirm what BobsYourUncle stated. Mods cannot submit service desk tickets in reference to forum issues. Admins can submit tickets. However, it's still up to IT and the Network Operations Center (NOC) to actually respond and resolve server/software related issues? The way it pretty much works in most large enterprise environments?

RE: Good Wi Fi for RV: Is it Possible?

As stated, you cannot rely on 'shared' WiFi access to stream video content? It's likely not fast enough, nor provides reliable continuous bandwidth to do so? And in many cases, violates the shared WiFi TOS? You'll need to get a cellular 4G/5G data plan that covers the amount of data you will use? And it will be significant for streaming video? My wireless data plan allows 250G/month of 4G speeds before possible throttling, and what I've been using for streaming Sling, Netflix, HBO, etc. Though no longer post info about the service, as they stopped creating new accounts for individuals, only for business. I'm basically using a router(Ethernet/WiFi) which accepts 4G SIM card.

RE: Anyone heard of harvest hosts (free camping database)

I did, nothing showed up. I'll search again. Using Google for finding forum posts can, in many instances, generate more results by using this search form: site:rv.net harvesthosts.com https://i.imgur.com/5LVn6Kyl.png

RE: Respond to posts

I don't understand why my tech question was closed. Can anyone let me know why this is? Thanks! As closing your thread had nothing to do with your question, I'd also recommend creating a new thread, focusing on what specific questions you may still have based on those helpful responses you received? As with anything posted on the Net, take any info with a grain of salt and confirm with multiple sources for consistent answers to your questions? You can always send a PM to a specific Moderator (Mod) with questions about your thread/posts? Though realize that Mods generally have to manage multiple threads, sometimes multiple forums, or may not be online due to other responsibilities? And, therefore, have limited time to 'babysit' a specific thread? Which may necessitate closing the thread, to prevent trolls from further degrading it to the point where it becomes so off-topic, that it may have to deleted completely?

RE: Extensions

It's a browser extension to detect potential malware as you visit websites? Not likely a scam as long as you are using Norton?

RE: Harbour Freight Jack stand recall.

Helpful post. Thanks for the info. I have my Honda SUV up on all fours right now with 3T HF stands for a month. :E Was just going to change the oil on my other Porsche SUV using 6T HF stands. :S Last thing I'd want is to be under a 5,000lb vehicle with questionable stands? I also have some Craftsman stands, though I'm fairly certain they weren't made in the U.S. either?

RE: Are the $25K lithium battery systems worth their cost?

I’m sure there is some ancillary equipment involved but I’m not sure how that compares to a Tesla Power wall which is 6500 for 13.5 KW. And they have built in inverters... Was thinking the same thing? https://i.imgur.com/1UADCjp.png Tesla Powerwall
