RE: The Home Depot is my new Amazon

Appears to be common among online retailers now. Had the same with Newegg.com that shipped out on UPS, then transferred to USPS for final delivery. Happened on a Saturday recently, so didn't get my package until the first part of the week.

RE: T-Mobile Home Internet WOW!

Tested T-Mobile 4G/5G home internet with a popular VPN service, one recommended by NY Times and a PC Mag Editor's Choice, which is working with no issues. RE: Archive search not working

I think the issue is caused by the forums no longer archiving, i.e. auto closing those threads with no responses after one-year. The 'Archive' option in Search looks for archived parameter to return those results. This, at least to me, explains why archive only returns those threads that were closed years ago when the forum search was working properly. You can use Google Search in the form of: site:rv.net topic where the topic is the subject of your search. You can further limit Google Search results by clicking the 'Tools' link and selecting a custom date range.

RE: T-Mobile Home Internet WOW!

I also work as an IT developer and have had no issues using VPN to access my office PC/MAC/RHEL workstations/servers, which is technically on U.S.Gov network.

T-Mobile Home Internet WOW!

I cut the Cable TV/Internet cord over a decade ago, and have relied on wireless data connections ever since. My most recent supplier was AT&T 4G wireless broadband w/400G monthly allowance. However, been experience a 4G outage since the beginning of this month. My inept service provider was for all purposes none existent, offering only chat (2-hr wait) or form mail tech support. Only now indicating they've solved the issues. Thank goodness for Verizon Visible 4G hotspot backup. I decided to check T-Mobile's Home Internet service and my home address indicated it was available. Went to my local T-Mobile store and was in/out in 10-minutes with a 'no cost' 4G/5G wireless router kit, resembling something like a mini Apple Mac Pro trash can. They didn't even ask for a credit card. I did try getting the free T-Mobile router shipped to my home address by phone. But the call center was oversees, and I never give out identifiable/financial info to anyone having to manually input to a computer. At the store, you fill out your info on a touch pad that obscures private info, so no manual input by a representative. The T-Mobile router has the SIM already installed, and you just power it up. Download a smartphone app which you can use to connect to the router via Bluetooth, and can control or view basic settings such as SSID, passwords, signal quality, and tower stats. You can also view all connected devices, and disconnect any or all if so desired. The T-Mobile router only has two built-in Ethernet connections. But when I connected one to my aging DELL Vostro desktop, this is what my speed tests are indicating: https://i.imgur.com/lZwiXvel.png I must be connected by 5G wireless though have no idea where the tower is located? WiFi connections speeds were significantly slower due to my outdated MB's built-in wireless card, though my iPhone WiFi is indicating 430 Mbps download. There are some caveats. The 4G/5G router is only meant for a fixed address, so not viable for traveling purposes. And T-Mobile indicated they are allowing just 10 home internet routers per tower to maintain high speed connections. That's what I was told over the phone, though don't know if it's accurate. At $60. month for unlimited 4G/5G wireless data, hard to beat in any case. Now I just have to find out how to setup an account to pay for it. :h

RE: ★ Signon on via Chrome (Workaround)

The reason it works is Chrome, Microsoft EDGE, and Brave are all Chromium based browsers. This thread asked about Chrome specifically.

RE: If you bought your RV on payments from General RV.

I would think that with a loan applications, it would likely be transmitted interstate at some point by electronic means: fax, email, or through the internet to a bank or credit union. If there was fraud involved in altering a contract after the fact without buyer's consent, then that could constitute wire fraud which is a federal crime. I would contact the Justice Dept. (FBI), especially if similar issues have occurred to multiple buyers.

This Chrome workaround also works in MS Edge and Brave browsers.

RE: PLEASE DON’T LOG OUT

No not a virus. If you run Chrome Developer Tools, it flags the issue and suggests the solution. What did they offer for solution? Developer tools are useful to analyze the website server end, and not necessarily for fixing issues by the end user. Instead, I've provided a temporary workaround that an end user can use to regain member access from Chrome browser, until the issue is addressed on forum websites. Firefox and Safari browsers have plans on implementing similar controls in the near future.

RE: PLEASE DON’T LOG OUT

No problem with Chrome or Brave browsers for me. Maybe something else- virus etc??? No not a virus. If you run Chrome Developer Tools, it flags the issue and suggests the solution.

RE: ★ Signon on via Chrome (workaround)

If you cannot 'Log-in' to the Forums using Chrome browser, you can try this workaround: https://i.imgur.com/p75Atqs.png width=800 "border=1" 1. Copy and paste the following (bold) into Chrome's address bar and press ENTER: chrome://flags/#cookies-without-same-site-must-be-secure 2. In 'Cookies without SameSite must be secure', click the Default button, and select Disabled. 3.EXIT and re-start Chrome browser. Try to 'Login' to the Forums.

RE: ★ Signon on via Chrome (workaround)

I think I've discovered the 'Login' issue with Chrome. The forums are apparently using cross-site cookies, but missing a necessary attribute required for Chromium browsers. GS IT needs to update their websites. I'll post a workaround in the meantime shortly.

RE: WIFI

Get Verizon's own Visible service using one of their approved smartphones on their list. It's unlimited high speed 4G/5G LTE data, though only permits one hotspot device connected at a time. You can also wireless cast from your smartphone if your TV supports it, or use an HDMI connected casting device. Sign-up for Visible then join any 'Party Pay Group' and pay only $25. month. Some have taken the Visible SIM out of their smartphone, and installed in a Verizon portable hotspot. Though their use is not approved by Visible, and they could cancel your account at anytime without notice.

RE: ★ Signon on via Chrome (workaround)

I am using Chrome right now, but I never 'log out'.. I Yes, don't 'logout' if you're using Chrome. You will not be able to log back with the same Chromium browser.

RE: ★ Signon on via Chrome (workaround)

Issue appear to be related to Chromium based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc. I've flagged the issue on Mods forums. In the meantime, you'll have to use Firefox or Safari.

RE: GS portal

Forum sign-in issue appears to be related to Chromium based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc? I couldn't sign-in using any of these. No sign-in issue if using Firefox or Safari browsers.
