RE: Renting out your RV nightmares.

I told CRUISE AMERICA that they were CRAZY in renting RV's. They will never make money or find Insurance for their rentals. :h

RE: HOW DOES AAA WORK .. OR NOT

I guess I am stupid but what is the difference in paying the tow co. upfront or re-imbursing me for paying for the tow out of my pocket. If I am paying and expecting re-imbursement, why would I worry about the cost factor? :h For standard tows, the tow company can only charge you the contracted rate IF you obtain them through AAA. If you get them outside of AAA and request reimbursement, the tow company can charge you whatever they want, but AAA will only reimburse you for the contracted rate - so you may not get reimbursed for the entire tow charge. My class C requires a medium duty wrecker to tow it. The rate for this truck is more than for a standard tow truck. So, even though I have the premium plan and get "up to 300 miles towing", AAA has a cap on the hourly rate. So, with the increased hourly rate, I only get about 110 miles before I have to start paying out of pocket. There are lots of little caveats like this with all the plans. So re-imbursement is not what it is stated. Why would any one purchase a contract that is nothing but a lie? Sounds like something the Gov. would provide.

RE: Was rear ended on the highway

It's past time to let your lawyer do the talking. Get the meanest junkyard dog you can find and turn it loose. I got hit from the rear many years ago and still have some neck problems . I unwisely just let my insurance take care of my truck so have learned a lesson. Be prepared to pay that "meanest junkyard dog lawyer" 40 percent of your money. Insurance Co. doesn't care because they will have to pay the money anyway.

RE: Using Propane while traveling in BC - Not Legal

Glad you made me aware of this. I was headed to Alaska next week. Since I found this IMPORTANT info, I have cancelled my reservations, sold my Trailer, sold my Truck, and given up RVing. :S

I went to Harbor Freight last year wanting a box of Widgets. They had no idea what I wanted and were unable to help. I will never go back. :h

RE: Roadside Assistance problem

Coach-Net does not leave you on the road, like Good Sam did to me once. Said they could not send anyone out or even give me ideas where I could go to get help when I broke down many years ago on i-95 in Greenville. Limped off the highway and was stuck in a parking lot for 3 days. Tell us how many times you have used Coachnet?

RE: Good Sam roadside failed us again!!!!

Marcus did nothing wrong. He probably carries basic tools when he travels to make a tire change that his vehicle requires as well. Right on.

RE: Dealer Service Rant

I can relate to these problems. Anytime I take anything in to be fixed by someone else they break something else. Or they do a half assed job. It’s just not worth it to take it in anymore. Nobody can take any pride in their work. I had taken my truck in to get a misdiagnosed leaky rear seal fixed. My transmission never worked right for a year after that. It was like the synchros didn't work. The whole time I had been thinking of random problems it could have been, because the mechanic actually mentioned that I have very expensive transmission fluid and they were going to buy a bottle of that to top it off. And I give them my blessing. As it turns out, they charged me for the expensive transmission fluid but put something else in. Some unknown substance. Because I finally drained out that transmission after not finding any other problems, replaced with the proper synchromesh fluid, and low and behold About 300 miles later, my transmission is fixed. My fluid is a clear substance. A murky brown substance like motor oil is what came out when I drained it. They filled it with some random fluid. With my Dodge ram 2500, I had been taking it in to get things done in the interest of saving time. As it turns out, every single time I had to fix something they broke or didn’t correctly do. So it save me no time at all. It’s just wasted my money. And the mark up on the parts is unbelievable. 300% of retail and you know they are buying at a huge discount from retail. It’s the same with everything right now. The less and less people know how to fix their own things, the more these people can charge. And the less pressure there is for them to do a good job. I, for one am finished with all mechanics. No one is fixing my truck except me. That’s why you will have found me in the corner of an AutoZone parking lot last weekend doing my front brakes. And guess what? No squeaking, no pulling, smooth perfect braking I know I can trust. Why don't you open a business and fix other peoples vehicles for a fee? As good as you are, I bet you could get RICH doing BRAKES. :B

AND Lemonis's comments about certain voters. This does it for me. Makes me more likely to shop there. x2. It has also kept the riff raft out. :B

RE: Anyone Notice Stiff Tariff Increases On Goods?

.... ...In a nutshell, NO ONE WINS except for the governing body that imposed the Tariff. The consumers lose, businesses lose. Historically Tariffs have always ended up hurting the country that places it, not the originating country of the goods. The cost eventually is bore by the consumer as the business importing the goods is forced to pass on the increased cost to the consumer. Business importing is is the business to well, make money, they can't absorb the increased cost so it is the end consumer that winds up paying the "tariff" (it ultimately IS A TAX!). ding ding! We have our winner! You are not insunating our President would lie to us, are you. :S

RE: Anyone Notice Stiff Tariff Increases On Goods?

What are you complaining about? Our Pres. says the US is collecting Billions and Billions of Dollars on the tarrifs. We will soon pay off the National Debt with the money we collect.

Spikes used to secure the bottom of a chainlink fence. I purchased a box of 50 from Amazon. CW was sold out. :h

RE: RVs and the NEC

Yes they are versed, just like the 3 Yoder brothers. They're currently over tightening and stripping the lugs out on 120VAC breakers, so the conductors can be smashed flat and break off, and doing a half assed job with those Scotchlocks on the 12VDC wiring. One of them may even be crimping pex fittings to PVC tubing with pex crimp rings LOL. I liked my brake wiring where one magnet wire was not stripped, so only had three brakes. My detachable inlet conductors were completely loose and the inlet fell to the ground when I removed it from the wall. Talk about fire safety! Exact reason I would not live beside a fellow that owns a RV much less travel in one. Just two examples, but there are many more if you pay attention. The dam thing was not road worthy and plugged in was a serious fire hazard. Again, argue the codes, standards and laws, but I do know what actually happens on the manufacturing floor in various industries. Exactly the reason I would not live beside a person that owns a RV much less travel in one. :S

RE: A/C Auto Lo?

Our past 2 rvs have been 5th wheels, so we are in Downgrade mode. So, a 5th wheel is superior to a travel trailer? I wonder whey a travel trailer is a down grade from a 5th wheel. Could you please explain. Are you a troll or a fool? I came here for answers, you may notice the intelligent people giving advise on the situation. Just ignore him. He doesnot know how to post without a snob remark.
