RE: Convert RV fridge to residential

Cptnvideo, your setup is similar to ours. Factory installed residential Samsung 18cuft had it's own 1000w inverter, for traveling. I have added 1200w solar and 3kw inverter. With adequate sun our batteries (4x100ah Li) are back to 100% by mid-day. The one thing I found to be most helpful on the Samsung is to turn ON the E-Saver feature. I believe it turns off the door seal heater to keep moisture and condensation to a minimum. Really only needed in high humidity areas and a definite energy hog.

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

I'm definitely happy with the setup! We have a residential fridg and yet when dry camping and using the furnace at night we have 100% SOC by early afternoon. The Victron MPPT solar controller is excellent!

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

This thread is supposed to be about slides and NOT about PDIs.
Please start a new thread if you want to discuss the importance of a PDI.
Glad to hear that you have identified the valves for each slides operation giving you more control. If you still have concerns about the sequence of the slides operating, you may want to consider installing restrictors into the hyd lines to change the sequence. That's how it's done in aviation hyd systems.
