I got a 20 pack of the led replacements for around $15. They aren't quite as bright as the halogen but not significantly enough for most to notice. No flickering or any other issues.

RE: What is your average freeway/highway speed?

We're new to RV'ing and purchased a 30' 2007 model R-Vision trailer. It has been wonderful so far but we are also concerned about speed issues. At about 60 mph the trailer will sway considerably, despite our anti-sway hitch setup. I looked at the tires and they are only rated to 62 mph (ST205/75D-14, tandem axles). Since our highways here in New Mexico are 75 mph maximum speed limit, would it make sense to upgrade to a tire rated for a faster speed? Is this even possible? I haven't found anything that also doesn't increase tire radius (which may not be possible for our trailer). Thanks. You may need to work on your hitch setup some more. I had a weight distributing hitch setup with my 24' toy hauler, that really needed a 3/4 ton truck to pull. With my half ton after original setup I had some sway. After a few more adjustments on the hitch the sway went away completely, even up to 70mph. As far as my DP, i run +/- 5mph of speed limit trying to stay with the flow of traffic.

Basement air cleaning

Took a look at the basement air filter on my unit. P.O. replaced it with a sheet of filter type material, ie not a filter.  In looking at the coils below the "filter" they are quite dirty. Can I use conventional coil cleaner on these from the air box side?  I presume there must be a condensation drain in the bottom of the unit on that side.

I recently filled up at a Buc-ees (high volume) for $2.69/gallon while the Flying J almost across the street was $2.99. No difference, just Pilot / Flying J has become the highest priced fuel anywhere ever since the merger many years ago. When gassing up my truck at the Pilot I noticed gas prices same as stations down street but diesel was 35cents higher than stations down street.

meter on ohms and one lead to wire and the other one to chassis ground. If its connected to a ground you will get a reading. If not it is not connected to ground. Thanks

It doesn't appear to be an aftermarket add on. It's a large gauge wire, think battery cable. Also not everything is 100% I have an intermittent inverter/charger issues. Can't be certain the two are related. Any other testing methods to confirm the cable is a ground?

Mystery wire

2008 Winnebago Journey 39z I picked this motor home up a couple weeks ago now. Been going through everything making sure all is up to snuff. Bulbs, clean up etc Upon investigating the battery compartment I found a large gauge wire tucked behind the batteries. Wire is black but the terminal appears to be painted red. I broke out the multi-meter to see what's what. Taking the positive meter lead to the terminal of the mystery wire and grounding to chassis and battery ground I got no voltage. Taking the positive lead to the battery and negative lead to the terminal of the random wire shows 13ish volts. So my gut says this is a ground wire. Not sure why its not tied in. First instinct is to bolt it on to a ground terminal and go. But I don't want to screw something up. Any suggestions???

Does your 12 volt DC actually have circuit breakers and not fuses? For the coach all 12v push button circuit breakers. The chasis does have some traditional fuses.

Our Tiffin has had that happen quite a few times ... check the inverter breakers, when we loose the 12 volt power from the bath forward on the passenger side..that has always been the cause. Oddly enough, resetting the inverter/converter breaker turned things back on. Is this a sign of the inverter/converter going bad?

That was my first inclination. My gut says a solenoid isn't activating. That theory would indicate the system is split though since I do have some 12v working.

12v power issue

2008 Winnebago Journey 39z. New issue presented itself today. Randomly half of the 12v powered items in the coach have no power. Everything working one moment. Was out of the coach for 20min and when I went back in half not working. I've got 12v power to stereo's, awnings, some lights. I don't have 12v power to main lights, control panel that shows power status, tank levels. I do have power to thermostat (assuming it uses a 12v power supply for something), the water pump powers. Checked all 12v breakers, house and chassis. None tripped 110v power good weather on shore power or generator. Buddy who's had similar issues before said there's a solenoid that dispenses 12v power to the coach that can stick. He recommended turning on generator and then off to work the transfer switch and activate the solenoid. Did that a couple times and 12v power came back. 40 min later I lost half 12v power again. Tried turning off house batteries with switch at door. This turned off the remaining 12v items on. Turned back on after a short time and still have only half 12v power. Are there more than 1 solenoids that control 12v power? I notice there are 2 button breakers for 12v power to the inside 12v panel. Any suggestions what else to look at? Thanks, Nate

Make sure the buttons are working too as I've seen several flimsy ones. Continuity with a meter should do. Any testing method you can share? These are the first 12v breaker buttons I've ever encountered
