RE: Theoretical heights.

My '17 F350 DRW 4x4, CC w/ 8' box and '18 Big Country comes in at 13'4" last time I measured it. The national bridge height is 13'6" not 13'5". BUT there is a built in add'l foot on MOST bridge clearance heights. We still have 6" of clearance from top of box to underside of 5er. One thing you have to take into consideration (unless you have airbags) is that the rear of the truck will squat down w/ 5er on so this brings down the top front height of your 5er. RV transporters don't have problems and they have all kinds of truck configurations. Just sayin'.

RE: New Ride

That is a great looking truck, inside & out!
Adding 25K miles per year...amounts to a lot of groceries purchased! :)
Jerry
The mileage is due to the fact that its my "Company " truck and is used to travel to our facilities..... New England, CT, Long Island, 4 in PA, Cleveland, VA, Charlotte... I drive everywhere except Charlotte.. Gotta be in style
If your travels bring you to CNY on biz, let me know. Ice tea sounds good.

Like Turtle-n-Peeps,
My condolences with your parents. I agree w/ above statement as well. Won't be cheap to fix, but cheaper than anew truck.

NYS State parks w/ lake picnic areas

DW and I were chatting what NYS Parks we could go to for a pickeynic (Yogi Bear) that have a lake/beach while RVing? RV is 41' so won't fit into most SP's and also would like some privacy between sites. Only one we know of is MooseHillLock near Lake George (Great CG!!) We would leave the RV at the Cg and go to the SP for picnic/lunch. A couple come to mind: Green Lakes and Nick's (near Old Forge). But nearby CG's may not accommodate our coach.
Look forward to what you all have to say. TIA

RE: '22 Powerstroke seems a little thirstier than the '21 was.

^^^ I talked to the sales manager at my dealership today and he said he doesn’t expect all his orders to be built. He also said there is no way of knowing which will be selected to be built. I might be keeping this one long enough to see the fuel economy improve after all.
Point of orig post.

RE: GM buying back 6.6L Duramax

Is there a certain year or range of affected engines? Friend of mine has a '18 D-max. Didn't see anything in the clicky.

RE: Slide design by Grand Design

Our old Cedar Creek Silverback had 3 slides and 1 switch. BR went out/in 1st, then the Main Street side slide (couch/dinette), then the BH was last. All went in in same order they went out.

RE: MORryde CRE 3000

Our Big Country came w/ the CRE 3000 and have to say, quite impressed w/ them. Nothing moves inside, rides very well. The 4000's did have a issue to which I believe More Ryde addressed. A lot of mfr's are using the 3000's as std issue. Ironically, ours didn't come w/ wet bolts, so had to install them myself. The coach weighs 14k empty and 16k fully loaded. I would go w/ them again.

RE: Recommended storage in bed with 5th wheel

Guess I'm odd man out. Depending on where we go, firewood up front, tire step thingy just behind it leaning up against side of box so I can reach it, then wood blocks behind hitch for legs. If no firewood, then front is wide open. Covered w/ Access tonneau cover otherwise.

RE: F350 LT275/70r18 tires

Just my opinion but payload ratings are meaningless imo. Know your axle and tire ratings and stay within those and you'll be fine.
SOOOOO true!!!
Simple math on my truck. SAE RAWR 9,750#, now add that to my 5,250# unloaded front axle. HMMMMMMM that is 15k. But But how is that possible when my GVWR is 14k.
Fuzzy math or common core math!!

RE: Interstate rest area stops

Park in the area for cars (if room) so not to take spots away from the semis. Here along the NYS T-way, many RVers do just that, but some (mainly RV transporters) park in semi spots. As for Wal-Mart, need to check w/ each one as some don't allow overnight parking (even for RVers) as truckers used to do it, but left their personal trash right there along w/ "P" bomb bottles. So WM ended that.
