RE: Mobile hot spots

Well I just signed up for Visible and I'm looking for some Party People, (to join my Party) at "RVNTime" on the Visible Web site.....so if you don't have 4 on your own, come on over!!! :-)

RE: Water softner

I have one but honestly don't bother with it most times. I do recall at some RV Rally, someone came up with a device that would auto feed the Softener. It was a retrofit, so I was out of luck. Off hand, I can't recall the name of mine...so I guess I'm not much help!

RE: Dealing with pet passing while on the road

Since forever we have been traveling with 4 doggies, we have had to deal with this a on 3 separate occasions all with our Cavaliers also(its sometimes tough to talk about this because we have two recent Cavalier adoptee's that are in the 14 year old range.) Having had all of our "kids" over the years Cremated and placed into nice Urn's, that was never an issue. Surprisingly enough, we have always been fortunate to locate caring and compassionate Vet's! We've done this by ways already mentioned, asking at the Campground, asking other Pets owners and generally a Computer/Web search can help greatly. I guess with all Pet owners, its something in the back of your mind but Not so pleasing to dwell on. I wish you the best and Hope its not something that you must deal with anytime soon.

RE: jack pads

I've had a piece of 2x12 sandwiched between 1" plywood for about 12 years...the same ones and there still going strong. One suggestion I heard long ago was to use those unbreakable cutting boards...never did try it but sounds interesting. Oh, my Vogue weights more so what I describe above really works. Like you, I have gone through those plastic ones but they do work on asphalt surfaces where you don't want your jacks to sink into it.

RE: Electrical issues

I hate to even add this BUT, after working on my floor(replacing it in many places), there is a Large amount of both low volt and high volt electrical running in grooving under the floor. I was very careful taking my time removing and replacing but I could imagine a disaster happening if you cut thru something you shouldn't. I Hope this is Not the case! Good Luck....

RE: Wilson Cell Booster?

I have looked at the specs of these different packages sold by Wilson It appears the same amp specs It's the big pole and bigger antenna that produce more gain I would use the old coax. The new equipment with a New multi band trucker antenna while driving , I wouldn't put any worry into the only use while stationary comment, I think that's CYA on case of stupid people Yes, I think that CYA statement was exactly as you say! Even the way Wilson responded to my question indicated in the wording, "it's not designed for this but everyone does it". I kind of got the just of what was being said!

RE: Wilson Cell Booster?

Thank you for that reply...I kind of figured I'd be re running the cable. I may just leave the old system in place ( when I say old, I mean like 6-7 years old and I bought it used to begin with.) Thanks again "ktmrsf"....you nailed the essence of my question, much appreciated. I was thinking of mounting the internal antenna on the ceiling but I will determine that when I get to it.

Wilson Cell Booster?

Just thinking out loud but don't know much so here I am to ask.... So I have on the motorhome one of the older Wilson amps and trucker antenna with the necessary spacing between outside antenna, amp and inside antenna, have had this for many years. Recently I went and purchased the Directional RV65 system(the system that comes with the telescoping pole...I realize this is only suppose to be used once stationary but I have a couple of questions: 1) the cabling/Coax seems to be the same in both old and new system...would it be ok/advisable to use the old cabling for the New equip providing they are the same rather than re-routing again through the MH? 2) At first I though I would get an Omni antenna to place on the MH while traveling down the road and set the fixed mount when arriving at a destination, but I'm wondering two things here, using the new electronics(amp) to connect to a new Omni directional antenna? or use the new electronics with the older trucker antenna while in motion? Bottom line is that everything is a Wilson product but the compatibility between old and new is what I curious about. I asked Wilson about using the new amp while traveling with a Omni and of course they replied that the RV65 is for stationary use only due to the power output of 65db opposed to the 50 db on their mobile units. In the long run, I'm really just wondering about having to rerun the cabling...if not, it all becomes a lot easier to install. Thanks for any input.

RE: Repairs and Upgrades

I will say this....I just replaced my leaky kitchen faucet in the motorhome and it wasn't as straight forward as I thought it would be. There was some transitioning from solid copper feeds to flex stainless steel. Older Mh's did things a tad different than todays. I'm still waiting to tackle the bath sink. I did but both last year when on sale at Amazon!!

RE: FDA announces Dog Foods that can cause heart failure

I have always tried to pick decent Doggie food but with all the recalls and now this report on dry foods(many listed are typically Top of the line foods)….so where does that leave us? Our older Cavaliers are already prone to CHF...and I always ask, when traveling, and our dogs have a Vet visit, what foods they suggest. As of now, all our kids get Science Diet small breed( it is one of the prescription ones) and Merrick canned. I see Merrick is on the list but indicates "dry" on the report. Hopefully I'm OK...if not, back to the drawing board.

RE: Do your dogs/cats watch TV

Interesting Topic because just as I was turning on the computer our Mini Schnauzer, Humphrie" started his whine/bark at a particular commercial that was on TV. We have discovered that certain ad's and certain Music causes this reaction....The Barnes Injury Attorney is one such commercial But most notably is the "My Pillow" commercial. If I don't remember to mute the TV during these commercials, I'm in store for about 90 seconds of howling....the worst thing is Humphrie is teaching Georgie the same tactic. It's almost as if it is "painful" for the doggies to hear whatever it is they hear...so I do make it a point to remember the triggers which causes the hysteria.:)

RE: Anyone gone on a Cruise?

After being on a few cruises, you will find that at times the ports of call will make little difference. I've taken Mexico cruises so many time, there are ports I don't get off the ship...( Advantage of living in So. Calif). I also agree about your room, yes you can spend a small fortune on outside cabins, balcony room and suites...but this is totally up to you and your comfort level. As stated before go to vacations to go website just to get an idea of discounted cruises...they have some outrageous deals. Have fun!!!!

RE: Anyone gone on a Cruise?

I just got off a Cruise a few weeks ago( 7 Day Mexico on Princess), this was my first Cruise in over 25 years. My wife continued to Cruise during my 25 year hiatus and racked up those Sea Days. Anyways, I had a Great time...the ships have become much larger (25,000 Ton to 146,000 ton nowadays) almost too large really. Just the same there is so many things to do and see while on board. I wouldn't be too concerned about motion sickness...its hard to tell your out in the water. OK..I won't be long winded here but GO...its Fun!!! On Edit....if you can go at a Moments notice, check out "Vacations to Go" (vacationstogo.com)...great prices!

RE: New 450 Lxi home

I just visited the E-Bay ad for your coach. Excellent looking and with all that work done (new items) very nice and interior top notch. One thing I always look at is the engine condition and that Cat looks factory fresh along with that Wet Bay! I won't out the price but did you get it for less than listed price? Great Looking Coach!!!

RE: New 450 Lxi home

I see they still have those two 450 LXI's on the Bluebird Forum...what year did you say yours was? The two listed are 2006 I think.

RE: Solar panel purpose on used motorhome

I had a very small solar panel and its only purpose was to keep the Solar Refrig Vent fan operational during daylight.

Who? That would be the "whistle blower" supposedly, possibly...probably!!!

RE: Disney Says 10 Million Signed up for Streaming in One Day

That's was kind of the point about T-Mobile service and Sat...about the same price....no real bargains. With that being said, T-Mobile's deal as it stands now uses your home Wi-Fi but is headed for completely Mobile Data later(all cellular). Don't take that as the gospel, I just skimmed over the details.
