RE: Relationship between jacks and slides?

Your original problem is because the hydraulic fluid is used to lube the bearings in the pump. A common practice on construction equipment.
Very low fluid = cooked bearings.

RE: Big Foot Jacks

You can try
Mobile RV Repair of Florida (located in Longwood)
(689)-229-8192
They did some work for me before I sold the Titanium and were satisfactory.

RE: Observation--newer trucks tow fivers a bit nose high

I intend to use my 2006 until the wheels fall off. My son will probably then glue them back on and use it some more.
Besides the height, it has one of the last LBZ diesels. Just broken in good at 150,000.

RE: Bedroom door comes open during travel.

We have french doors into the BR. I use screen door hooks to hold them open during travel, but closed would also work.

RE: 50-amp electrical cable plugs in, the black screw “ring”

In ten years using a 90 degree adapter (from West Marine) I have never tightened the ring; Never has an arc; Never had a scorch; Never had a problem.

P.S. use a Precision Industries EMS upstream EVERY TIME!

RE: tire wrench

My son got me the cheapest battery powered impact wrench that Harbor Freight sells.
keep the battery in the charger, plugged in in the basement when in camp and it is always ready.
(Works on the stabilizer jacks, too.)

RE: 5th wheel front tripod

As long as my wife thinks it makes the rig more stable, it will be installed for any stay of more than one night.
Why not??

RE: Goodyear recalls 173,000 RV tires

Anybody who is still running on one of the listed tires has worse problems than a recall!!
Also I have to agree that 22.5s are rare on fivers.

RE: Baggage Door Catch

You can try E-Trailer or Tweety's. Between them they can match most anything.

Look up "pool backwash hose" for a cheaper solution.

RE: Replacement Fridge

Google "Replacement RV Fridge". Rebuilt cooling units (complete) are available and even when installed by a dealer's shop are considerably cheaper than a new fridge,

RE: Bedroom door comes open during travel.

Screen door hook and eye.
Also, I had a pocket door into the bathroom that would not stay open. Put a small cup hook in the wall on each side (one in BR; one in Bath), set horizontal. Hook a big rubber band between them.

RE: GFI electrical question

GFI needs a hard ground.
Generator power is a floating ground. You are grounded to the generator, not the power grid.

Shallow treads typically run cooler. Note that racing tires have almost NO tread when just broken in!

Probably "pressure regulator", but more interesting is which valve closes so fast that it causes water hammer??
