RE: Camper jack torn off driving

Look again. You can see half of the exposed bolt holes running left to right. The entire front half of the stud is gone, split right across the bolt line. There are also bolt holes going in (looking straight into the photo)... I see where front lag bolts pulled out of face and face of wood split off where side lag bolts went thru but I also dont see where there were thru bolts. Looks similar to our rear jack mounts-no thru bolts just lags. Which Id look at replacing mounts that also had thru bolts, though don't know what jacks you have. Just give more mounting surface if you can get to back side of front wall corner.

RE: Any thoughts on a repair?

Our campers front wall looks like that, exposed 1x's behind the water heater, water tank. The left side is small cabinet behind jack and 1xs are covered. Ours they aren't the structure but added on face for supporting other stuff. My vote is though 20 years old, has some issues and doesn't help how to fix- but it really looks like p/o hit something pretty hard and pushed/twisted the nose back into the weakest area. Hows it look behind the refer vent? Even on a sound camper your going to have some bobbing between truck bed and cab-should be 2-3" or better between cab and camper nose.

RE: Need replacement 2 prong cord from Atwood Jack

Trolling motor plug may work, same style but splicing wire may be needed. amazon On the 2 wire changing receptacle to SAE style plug like rieco-titan uses would give more options for motor plug.amazon Mine uses 4 pin (manual switches) on drivers side

RE: Suburban furnace not restarting

Could jump terminals or remove wires at thermostat and tie together-if heater comes on and stays on its the thermostat, if it still shuts off problem elsewhere. Fan comes on?

RE: Dolly for Truck Camper

Images-Right clicking and click view image, I can see them otherwise not showing. On 4 wheels generally lead end wheels would be fixed and the push side would be steer. I'd imagine pushing cart sideways be desirable so a means to lock temporarily until need to pivot. Dont know if these help. Much smaller wheels on my welding cart. It would turn in circles before going straight or where ever it wanted. https://i.imgur.com/yMxoqXD.jpg width=640 Just drilled thru base with clear hole into castor flange, base is threaded https://i.imgur.com/R3BGY0j.jpg?2 width=640

RE: Happijac

Cant help with remote issue. Hex driver bits common, but likly be 3/8 or 1/2 sq drive so adapter would be needed also common (assuming 1/4 cordless hex drive) The 1/2" male hex x 1/4" hex isn't that common. Close would be a pipe plug remover but they arent cheap for single bit, about $30.. Proform 67447 Pipe Plug Removal Tool. umm...This popped up HAPPIJAC Hex Drive Camper Jacks https://i.imgur.com/3ygyDRU.jpg amazon.com/Lippert-182912/dp/B01GP5BSGS/

RE: Carseat Advice for Quad Cab Truck

fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/99f23og4e.pdf If you dont have owners manual, seating & safty use pages 82-106 with several sections on child seat use. Also truck can be retro fitted with tether system. I believe kits are no charge (page 106), but unsure about installation- Local police dept, DMV, possibly fire department might be better source than our opinions here. Local Ford dealer likely where I would start. I would agree with your wife's thoughts about putting both in rear.

RE: My (our) Ultimate Truck Camper Body Build

Dang! That is just a pleasure to admire. I noted the, what appear, similar to torklift tie downs and also in different orientation in some of the pics- what is there purpose? Was curious about the rack, obviously clears and assuming the spare lives there but what stops forward camper movement. Can you disable rack lights?

RE: OEM AF Stereo replacement--MB Quart RVDVD2.0 & A/B Switch

Nice unit..I've thought about changing ours several times- but its the placement of the ceiling speakers that limits any kind of sound quality so never pursued. Plus current unit doesn't have channel control (balance) only fades between the 2 pairs... hmmm Very directional depending on which side of dinette your sitting... We don't listen to radio often but when we do, anything beyond just background sound its not enjoyable. Might revist..thanks See you got pics showing, sometimes getting a post to go thru is as difficult as the project :)

RE: Tie-down systems performance/safety vs cost

Question on the happijac mounts. Am I correct that one has to drill through the bed of the truck to mount the front mount? Then it mounts through the bottom of the bed into the frame and through the front of the bed to the bracket? Or is it 100% to the bed in the front? I just want to make sure I understand how the system works. https://happijac.com/tie-downs.html link to H/J systems- 3 different p/n listings for an 07 but similar as far as installation

RE: (((Update))) we bought it / 1995 Lance squire lite 185

... I'm really not interested in what its worth because its exactly what I wanted. That is its real worth. Used market is limited so finding what you want in features usually is the compromise-. In the OPs case though- subtracting the extras, included tie-downs, honda gen, aftermarket radio, handle, new skylight, mattress etc- in a camper wanted- sounds pretty good to me. Question the 5gal tank capacities https://www.lancecamper.com/docs/Lance_1995_brochure.pdf

RE: Carbon Monoxide and Propane Gas Alarms

I replaced our no longer made CCI lp detector with an MTI Industries unit thats pretty close match (mounts in cut wall):$47 amazon link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003D32OK0 https://i.imgur.com/gDBwEhL.jpg width=640 non replacable battery...5 year life span Replaced old Atwood carbon monoxide alarm with a Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPN unit with digital display, replaceable batteries: about $20. A lot smaller than the Atwood but covered screw holes Amazon link...https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Y6V5CI https://i.imgur.com/GxhD3Ya.jpg width=640 Our smoke alarm failed and here in CA can no longer buy simple units with replaceable battery, so had one shipped to friend out of state...

RE: Opinion on these tie-downs?

To use with Torklift frame mounts also need to change the short rods as these are setup for HJ mounts. https://buyautotruckaccessories.com/brand/lippert-components-inc?subcategory=hooks

RE: Getting the truck ready?

Curious on the cordset mentioned. Mostly the 12' length. Replacing umbilical, if hardwired into camper is 12' enough to reach the bumper plug? Or planning to make connection outside? Secondly does your '15 ram disconnect/isolate trailer charge line when engine off?
