RE: Finally!

My Roadmaster Invisibrake comes with the dash mounted led wired from the cold side of the brake switch on the toad. It lights when the brake peddle on the tow actually moves.

RE: 7 PIN TOWING CONNECTOR

If the tail lights work on the rv but not through the connector, look for a problem in the wiring between the rear rv lights and your connector. The rv lights are fused but they are generally not fused past that point.

RE: New Member and Question

I would look for a good used vehicle that can be towed 4 wheels down as it would be so much easier to deal with while travelling. Removing and replacing a drive shaft would be tedious as most people unhook and drive their toads often. The dolly is just another thing to deal with as well. Just my thoughts. Safe travels

RE: fresh water tank

My rig has two drain taps in line. If the one inline before the final drain tap is open my fresh water tank will fill up from the city water that is turned on.

RE: Terrain / Equinox 6 Cyl

If you are charging the toad while driving the rv there should not as much need to pull fuses. If you do want to pull fuses, look at Roadmaster or others for a disconnect switch. You can easily make one yourself as well.

RE: Gas prices.

We get the same thing here on the west coast of BC. “ The refinery has closed for maintenance so up goes the price “ No stations are short of fuel and no one is driving any less, just another excuse to raise the price.

RE: Gas prices, weather and wildfires...

That $1.63 per litre in Canada equals $ 6.16 in US gallon. 1.63 x 3.78 = 6.16

RE: 22,5" rim torque specs

Not sure about aluminium rims or your wheels but my older unit with steel wheels calls for 450ft. lbs of torque on the nuts.

RE: Extension Cord

I think that would work fine. I found a 100 ft 12ga. cord at Costco for a good price.

RE: Solar Trickle charger

There is not a big draw with these chargers so a reasonable size cord would be fine. Any extension cord that is about 50ft should have at least 16 ga. wire.

RE: Solar Trickle charger

Battery Tender is a good brand that works great as it will charge then step down to float level. Sorry I just realized you were looking for solar power.

RE: tpms vs tire gauge reading

My TPMS monitor is adjustable to set pressure close to a regular gauge.

RE: Allison Transmission Question

The right number is the gear you are currently in. The left number is the gear the trans is heading for. When accelerating the numbers will read from 6 - 1 to 6 - 6. With foot off pedal the trans display will be the same. Left number is the gear it is heading for and right number is the gear you are actually in.

RE: 12 volt power switch

Every time my rig has been in a shop for more than a few days, there has always been something else that is damaged. Radio quit working, my rear ladder was damaged. It was my rear camera monitor that was fried the last time. I don’t know what they do but I’ll bet there is a damaged or cut wire on yours from the repair.

RE: Air pressure

On my Tire safe-guard unit, the display is adjustable to match a separate reading if slightly different.

RE: Surge Protector

My 30 amp hard wired Progressive unit with remote display has activated with low voltage, and high voltage, no ground and recently with a reversed polarized plug.

RE: Overpass Minimum Height

If you are travelling to Canada anytime, write down the metric conversion height as well.

RE: What Tire Monitoring System to get?

I have a TPMS system from Tire- Safeguard. I like this because I don’t need a booster to receive signals from my toad as others do. 6 flow through sensors on the motorhome and 4 cap sensors on the car. Works well for me.

RE: How often do you use/need a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter?

If you can stand one more post, I found a 30 amp receptical at one rv park that had the polarity reversed according to my surge protector and a hand tester so I just used my 50 amp adaptor for the first time. Glad I had one.

RE: Refrigerator runs on A/C but not LP

My older fridge will stop on occasion and a quick blow on the burner to remove any rusted bits from the heating tube always cures it.
