RE: First time out problems

Thanks guys. I actually have the manual from hwh. I went looking through all the stuff I had. I did that exact thing & still nothing. So when I turn the key on & engage the parking break. Then I press the on button. The red light comes on & I have a yellow light that shows the front passenger side needs to be raised. When I flip the levers nothing happens. I dont hear anything. When i move the center lever i hear a click but that is all. Is this a bad pump? How can i test it? If it was a fuse I dont think the lights would work or i would hear a clicking sound when activating the lever. Also is there a way yo remove the center level toggle? So I can get to the plate & cleaned it... one video showed an allen wrench but mine does not have an allen screw inside it

RE: First time out problems

Thanks guys.. it is the p-30 chassis. I'm not sure about the type of hydraulics it has on it but the top plate does have a fuse & yes it will not work if the parking break is not engaged... this all shows on the top plate so I know I have the parking break engaged & the fuse is working because I have power to the top plate & the red light is on & its showing which way to adjust the rv. But when I press the 2 levers down the Jack's do not come down??? Now if i use the center lever and move it around i can hear the click sound like it working but the Jack's havent come down. So fuse is good & parking break is engaged

RE: First time out problems

Fuel pump. Filter & fuel gauge sensor are all new.. I'm not sure on the Jack's which one they are. It has big hydraulic tank infrastructure and of driver side. The levers and box are beside the driver seat. U turn the box on & it works & shows which side needs to be adjusted. U lock the levers put & nothing happens but when u use the center lever that adjusts which Jack's go up & down there is a click. So not sure

RE: First time out problems

Ok sorry guys but I didnt want to post 10 pages lol. So to answer a few questions Yes we have done a lot over the past 4 years. Including replacing the entire roof (insulation, wood, rubber, all of it)... every piece of rotted wood inside the rv from walls & floor... This is a 454 unit with a trans break I pulled the train brake & sent it off to be rebuilt & reinstalled it.. the moride suspension was shot & I replaced all 4 of them. We worked on the breaks when we first got it & replaced the tires. Generator worked but then the starter went out. We fixed it. But it still will not carry a load (another problem for another time). We replaced the fuel pump & fuel sensor in tank. And the list goes on & on lol. When I said emergency break & parking break I was alluding to the (parking break) when u put the rv in park... that would not hold. Then applying the emergency break & still would not hold. And yes I keep chocks on my tires for rv & car hauler... Thanks for the info guys hopefully I cleared a couple things up for everyone. And thank you for taking time to read a long post & reply. Lots of great advice on here. I will certainly check out the fuses for the jacks.. How can I fix the telephone cable or at least replace it? I'm assuming it runs to both ac units & a furnace??? I will deffinatly get the brakes back off & check 1st thing before taking it anywhere else. And I was thinking the oxygen sensor as well. I notice a wire hanging down from under rv & it looks like it may be an oxygen sensor. Thanks Thanks for all the advice guys much appreciated

RE: First time out problems

I have a mechanic looking at the motor problem. We had it plugged into a 50 amp site.so I want to figure out about the Jack's & the ac? Can I get a replacement thermostat and /or wiring cable? How difficult is it to switch to a 5 button? Mine is a duo-therm comfort control 4 button thermostat. It has 4 zones. Also can I use a battery operated thermostat on that system?

First time out problems

Hello guys. So I got this 96 allegro bay given to us 4 years ago. Roof was shot & lots of internal water damage. We Fixed a lot of things and we tried taking it out for the first time.. let's just say it was a terrible experience.. when we got to site it was at a slight decline & the emergency break would not hold nor the parking break. So I had my daughter chauk it while I held the breaks. Next the jacks would not work. Couldnt get them to come down at all. (They worked last month when I raised them up.) Then the AC would not work. I had just posted this problem 2 weeks ago & thought we had it fixed.. it was running good for 4 days straight, Right up until we unplugged everthing to drive it over. (It would click on for a few seconds & then click back off... if u moved the cable around at the thermostat then it would come back on but go off after a minute or so... we came home that night since we are only 20 min away. Went back the next day & it was still doing the same thing??? It had a couple of water leaks but nothing major. The refridgerator didnt work but that was expected. (We knew it had issues). Then driving it back home it lost power.. it was running but u could hold the gas pedal to the floor & it would not move the motorhome. Then I would stop. Turn it off then start it back up & it would rev up ok. I would put it into gear & get up to about 30 to 50 mph and go 2 miles or so & it would do the same thing. So I coasted into an abandon gas station & left it lol.. Needless to say my wife does not want to ever go back. Her idea of camping is room service. That's the reason we took ok this project. Any ideas other than lighting a match? Lol Thanks this forum has helped tons over the last 4 years. Hoping for some advice now

RE: AC went out after getting unplugged?

Ok guys I got it fixed.. did some wiring at the breaker & now my ac is back to working thanks... still have another issue that needs help. Where my 50 amp cord plugs into my 30 amp cord got hot & melted last time. So I replaced the end & the plugs. I was told that it was because my wires at my plug where reversed & that i had cross polarity.... so this time I made sure that my wires lined up correctly.. my TV has been plugged in for 4 days now with 1 ac running & nothing else & my 30 amp cord is black again where it plugs into my adapter... what would cause this?

RE: AC went out after getting unplugged?

Ok so I checked the fuse box inside the rv next to the breakers & they all tested good (both sides of fuses). I will try to post a picture. How do I check voltage at the AC unit?

RE: AC went out after getting unplugged?

Ok thanks guys I will double check again... I switch the breaker off & on a couple of times. And still nothing. No sound of any kind in cool mode or fan mode. I will break put the bolt meter tomorrow & see if i can find the power to the AC units. I think it has an inverter but not sure where it is. It has a power box at the outside plug & a breaker box inside the rv under the fridge. I think it has a breaker box under the hood as well. But the AC breaker is inside & I checked it & the fuses to it as well

RE: AC went out after getting unplugged?

Ok so my lights are working & my micro wave is working but my ac is still not coming on.. also my slide out is not working but not sure that is caused by same problem.. I only have 1 house battery on right now. Not sure that matters. Its been a while since i used the slide out

RE: AC went out after getting unplugged?

Thanks guys.. 1st off it was an accident but yes it got unplugged while it was on. Also it is a 1996 allegro bay 34 ft class A motor home. With the dreaded 4 button dura-therm thermostat with 2 durotherm Ac units. Yes I flipped the breakers off & back on a couple of times & gave it about 30 minutes to reset & its still not doing anything. I will check the microwave & see if it works. & no I didnt have a voltage meter checking voltage when I started it up... it was running good for about 10 minutes until it accidentally got unplugged lol

AC went out after getting unplugged?

Hello again. Hoping to get some more help. It's been a while. So I plugged my rv into my 30 amp plug at the house & turned on the front AC to see if it would cool & get things ready for summer.. while it was running. My buddy & I went to check the 50 to 30 plugs(I had to replace the 30) to see if they were getting hot. They were fine but after I put them down it got unplugged & my AC went off.. so before I plugged it back in I walked inside & turned off the thermostat. We gave it a few minutes & I walked back out plugged the rv back in & when I went to turn the AC on nothing happens... the thermostat comes on but neither ac units come on.. no hum.. no fan ... nothing.. I checked the fuse at the breaker inside & it looks good. Any suggestions on what or where to look? Thanks
