RE: Locating Internal Aluminum Structure??

There are stud finders that claim to find ferrous and non ferrous (of which aluminum is one) metals. Maybe you just need a different model stud finder.

RE: Survey: impact of weather and fires

Been a few years, but we had to evacuate south central Colorado one year when a huge fire erupted near the Wolf Creek Pass area.

RE: RV Power Cord FIRE!!!

Most likely you had some loose and/or bad wire connections in your power cord or the RV connector. Loose connections equals resistance. And resistance and electrical current equals heat. Enough heat to burn connectors and wires. Not unusual to see posts like this of burned connectors where they plug into the RV.

RE: Proper Power Receptacle For Home?

Wire and install a 50 amp. Use a 50 to 30 dog bone. ^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^ Keep it simple.

RE: Wireless bluetooth thermometers?

Bluetooth range is only about 30’. You will need a cellular thermometer to connect to your phone via a special app unless you have wifi in your RV. You have to subscribe to their service. They are available but I have no experience with them.

RE: "Laminated Aluminum Floor" Definition?

Their web site construction information states it has “Laminated Aluminum Front Wall, Laminated Aluminum Sidewalls, Laminated Aluminum Slide Boxes, and Laminated Aluminum Floor”. So I would read that as all those have aluminum framing with the various materials bonded to that framing.

RE: Has anyone done this in the US?

Haven’t seen one myself, but pictures are sometimes posted of class 8 trucks with a small car loaded on and towing a 5er. https://i.imgur.com/WpYtxu9l.jpg width=450

RE: 2020 Montana Slide Out won’t retract

Lot of commonality on slides in different brands. But might also be something specific to Montana. Try the Montana Owners Club (MOC) forum.

RE: Pre-cooked packaged bacon

I just use regular thin sliced bacon (usually Oscar Mayer center cut) in the microwave on a plate with 3 layers of paper towel under the bacon and one layer on top to catch splatter. Comes out nice and crisp and no dripping grease. That makes it healthy, right? Takes a few times to get the timing right. I usually set the timer for slightly less than I think it needs and check it at the end and add 30 second increments as necessary. And it cooks differently depending on lean/fat mix. After a few tries you find what mix works best.

RE: Air ride pin box question

As long as you set the bottom of pin box height just a little below the top if the hitch plate height, the pin box will easily ride up the hitch plate leveling the hitch and the pin box. And protect against high hitching. After a few times it becomes an automatic part of your procedure.

RE: Air ride pin box question

Here is a 5th Airborne air ride hitch and similar to other brands. The king pin points straight down to slide easily into a 5th wheel hitch. https://i.imgur.com/5VLSnf5l.jpg width=400

RE: 2017 Montana 3100RL 5th wheel Ground Fault

Check your fridge neutral wires for any bad insulation touching metal. If it was a hot wire touching metal it would most likely trip your breaker. It could also be a bad heating element if an absorption fridge.
