RE: Ordered Host cascade today

I love the Kelderman, ZERO issues and I would do it again. I should have done it sooner and on earlier trucks. Great to hear! I am really considering this mod. Thanks :C Now I just need RAM to build and deliver my 2022 5500 60" CA so I can start modding it for my upcoming Host Everest delivery. Fingers crossed I have the truck by November.

zb39, how is the Kelderman air suspension upgrade after using it for some time now? Any concerns or issues to be aware of for those considering it? Would you do it again given the cost? Bandit400

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

They did take my bed off. They showed me how it was put on and they are making some improvements. They also loaned me a car for all the time I am here. Great people!! Rare to find a company these days that are customer focused like that. Bet your getting excited. Can’t wait to hear the post install review.

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

zb39, Look forward to some pictures and post install reviews. I called KELDERMAN on Thursday about that same setup and was quoted about same price with install. Do they have to take your flatbed off to do the install?

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

I'm leaving tomorrow for Iowa to the Kelderman factory to have a full air ride system put on the truck. zb39, That's going to be a nice upgrade! Can you provide some additional details on the Kelderman system options you went with and approximate cost for the upgrade installed? Also, what was your primary reason for going that approach (unloaded ride quality, lower ride height, etc)? I am making my first journey into the RAM 5500 territory so like to understand a bit more what I am getting into regarding ride quality both loaded and unloaded with factory suspension. Thanks!

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

Definitely get dual tanks, Your 5500 sounds just like mine. I ordered in Feb and it came in a couple weeks ago. I put a steel CM SK bed on it and love it. I can get the Host loaded 8 feet 9 inches.on the bed. love this truck and camper. This is my third 5500 and my second Host. zb39, curious what led you to go from a Host Mammoth to the Cascade?

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

Thanks for the feedback. Defiantly want to have the fuel range. I put a Titan 55 gallon tank in my Ram 3500 and it is great having 700 mile range. Trade off ion the 5500 is you lose the spare tire location but I can fab up another mounting option. I linked the planned full 5500 config below. Will be curious to see if there any new options for 2022. RAM 5500 Config PDF Options Ram 5500 Options

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

You can get a 52 and 22 gallon tank option for a total of 74 gallons. I plan on getting this.

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

I got my new truck yesterday. I leave in the AM to pick up the camper. Cool, post pictures once you have them hooked up together. Congrats zb39 on the new truck/camper combo! I am just started that journey with an order in for a 2022 Host Everest. I am going to be ordering a 2022 Ram 5500 cab and Chassis 60” once Ram factory orders open up in the next month. The 3500 I have just going to be too much overloaded for my comfort. I am looking to add a CM Aluminum SK flatbed to the chassis. Any must have options I should consider on the ram when ordering or things to consider when using the flatbed combination with the Host? I would be going with the Laramie trim with 6.7L , HD front suspension, HD ASIN, 4.44 axle, safety group, tow group, dual alternators 440amp as my initial list of options. Thanks!

RE: Purchasing New Host Everest 11.6, Help Please

Does Host publish MSRP prices for their base models and options like a typical car manufacturer? or do yo have to get that from a dealer? Good to know if the pricing you get from a dealer is the correct baseline to start any pricing negotiations let alone knowing if it is worth adding options during the initial purchase or afterwards. Thanks! If you work out a build sheet with Host for the standard and custom options for the model you want, you will get the MSRP prices. This is why it is import to contact Host before you start working with a dealer. If you can arrange a factory tour, it will be worth your time. This build sheet can be used to shop the dealer that provides you the best value. I will stress VALUE over price - Finding a good dealer is worth paying a little more if you want a good buying experience and after purchase support. I drove further to get a better dealer and better price. The value of that better dealer would have have been worth it for me even if his price was higher, so I prioritize service a little more than some... Thanks Geo*Boy and Bedlam. I agree having a dealer who will stand behind what they sell and support you after your BIG purchase is worth paying a bit extra for if it comes down to it. Especially with the likelihood that something will need to be fixed within the first few weeks of use. I will give Host a call this week to get MSRP price breakdown:C Also, curious what the current production lead time is at this point for the Everest. I would assume early winter would be a slower sales time which provides some incentive for dealers to negotiate pricing a bit more. Although I suspect COVID demand may offset any decline this year.
