RE: Winter RV Florida Gulf Coast

Most places book a year out. Trying to find something only months out is gonna be a challenge. The pan handle may be your only choice, like I tell everyone who wants to be south of I-4 for the warmer weather, 40 degree nights and 60 degree days are still better than -5 wherever your coming from.

RE: Plate fees are going up in illinois

Left Illinois back in 1983. The plate for my TT is $36.10 here in Florida. Illinois politicians think the answer to everything is raising taxes. Pretty soon, there won’t be anybody left to pay those taxes.

Charleston SC

Just came back from a wedding at Wild Dunes Resort. Never been to that area before and had little time to check out the area but did spend a couple of hours in Charleston. Would love to go back with the TT and stay a little longer. After checking RVParkReviews, I was wondering if anyone has recommendations on CGs within about a half hour or so drive. Thanks for any info.

RE: Mat rant

Wow, it just amazes me the trivial stuff that bugs people. When your RV is on a grass site, the grass under it gets no sunlight and little to no water. Does the grass die under your RV?

RE: snowbirding

Anything south of I-4 in the winter is expensive as well as crowded during the winter. Your chances of getting a site now are better in the Pan Handle than south of I-4. Everyone wants warmer weather and as a result you pay for it in price and waiting in traffic. I have lived in Fl since 1983 and as soon as my wife retires I’m heading north to avoid winter crowds and unbearable summers. Pan Handle is beautiful. The temps can be a little chilly but still better the -10 up north.

RE: Towing speed

60 is my cruising speed, every now and than I may need to go 65 to pass someone going slower than me. 60 is what I’m most comfortable at and what was stated earlier if others pass me so be it.

RE: Mama Gerties

My DW’s brother and his wife we’re just there a few months ago. Stayed at the very top and said the view was great. They also said MaMa Gerties was a one and done place for them. Saw it but didn’t get a t-shirt.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness Site selection and other questions

Just found out that Ft Wilderness now has a fourth campground loop designation. It’s called the Meadows Premium loops. The 400, 600, 900, 1000 and 1400 loops are now this classification and are $20 a night more because they are closest to the Meadows Trading post, pool, bike barn and campfire movie area. DW is finding new ways to increase profits. First it was charging you to park at the resort your staying at, now this. Who knows, next you may have to pay to use their transportation. Just an FYI

What is your favorite COE CG in Georgia

Georgia has many COE CGs, DW and I want to start visiting them. But we’re not sure which ones to go to first so we’re looking for a little help from you experienced COE campers. Looking forward to reading your replies. Thanks.

RE: Disney Fort Wilderness Site selection and other questions

I have requested a specific loop numerous times and got it but have been told that a specific site cannot be guaranteed.

Margaritaville RV Resort Buford Ga

Does anyone have any pictures or experience with Margaritaville RV Resort? I think it’s on the grounds of the old Lake Lanier Isles resort. Last time I was there and checked out the CG which was many years ago, it was really run down. Looking at the website and RVParkreviews, there are no pictures and only two reviews that are from 2019 and the other is from 2017. Any info is much appreciated.

RE: Where to place campground stickers?

We have a large a Yeti cooler that we take every time we go camping. I place them on the cooler that way if we change rigs, the stickers are on the cooler that goes with us.

RE: Replacing fake leather sofa sleeper

Well, we have found that it’s cheaper to replace the whole sofa sleeper than to recover it. Even cheaper is the DW finding a slip cover on Amazon that fits perfectly and goes with the color scheme in the TT. Since we hardly ever use the sleeper sofa for sleeping this will work out fine for now. The cover was only 30 bucks. Thanks for all the replies.

Short queen mattress

DW and I are looking at replacing the short queen mattress that came with our TT with something a bit more comfortable. Looking for recommendations from those of you who have done it, cost involved and location of purchase. Thanks in advance.

RE: Replacing fake leather sofa sleeper

My current sleeper has a L bracket attached to each front leg and to the floor. My door is also 26” wide.

Replacing fake leather sofa sleeper

We have a Kodiak TT which came with a tri-fold sleeper sofa. It has that fake leather which has started to flake and crack. We would like to get another tri-fold fabric sofa sleeper to replace it. Recovering the existing one with the Sunbrella fabric my DW wants is more expensive than buying a new one. For those of you who have already done this, what did you get and from where? Thanks for the info and happy camping.
