RE: Yet another Air Dam/Spoiler/Airfoil thingy

I wonder how a bug deflector on the front of the hood would change the airflow. May be something else worth considering.

RE: Yet another Air Dam/Spoiler/Airfoil thingy

It looks good. I can see why you would want it behind the marker lights but the gap you need to account for movement of the camper may end up in the same amount of flow as you are having right now between the valence and windshield.
Have you considered combining your new valence with some foam between the camper and rear cab to disturb the flow of air?

RE: DRW vs SRW safety, tire blowout

I daily drive my dually. It goes thru bank and restaurant drive thrus a couple times each week. It fits in parking spaces just fine.
This may be regional. I have personally had to back out of bank drive throughs and dont even bother trying to make it through fast food drive throughs with my dually.

RE: CB Antennas?

One of your better options if you dont want to have to move it when you put the camper on and you dont want to do custom is going to be the fender mount. Depending on your truck there will be brackets to either mount to your front fender or the hood hinge bolts.

RE: champion generator mount

Just as an update - I ended up building a frame that captures the generator in the horizontal plane and bolted through the plastic base for security but am also using straps as the primary way of holding it down. I couldn't find a good way to directly bolt it down and trust it to not eventually fall apart.

RE: Remote duel fuel 2500 watt generator?

I have to go back to the generator to disable it or it will drain the start battery down.
Have you tried replacing the battery? I leave mine turned on several days at a time and it has no problem starting when I press the button on the remote.

RE: Views on when to/not to allow a dog to be social

Getting the puppy out into the big world isn't just about learning other dogs and interactions within the canine community, it is about other objects/sensations they haven't been exposed to and all of the different types of humans - tall, short, bearded, hat wearing. See the attached article that defines socialization.

RE: champion generator mount

Thanks all. I will need to mount my generator 6 inches below the hitch so I may as well build a custom fixture to mount it to that can maximize security.
The wheels on this unit are recessed so it's not as simple as removing and bolting in is place, plus I was hoping to retain functionality of the wheels while this frame is bolted on.
The engine mounts have a support structure that goes through the bottom pan so I am going to try and remove them to fit a longer bolt that I can use for my mount.

champion generator mount

I am working on building a mount for my 3500 watt champion generator and am struggling to figure out the best way to bolt it down, I want to have it securely mounted and not just strapped down. This model has wheels on one side and a pair of bumpers on the other and they don't line up so it's not as simple as simply removing 4 bumpers and bolting in their place. Has anyone done this before with the 3100, 3400, or 3500 that can make any suggestions or even share what didn't work for them?

RE: StableCamper

We use 6 stackable screw jacks ( Amazon) or (Walmart) & 3 - 2” x 4”; light, inexpensive, no movement & supports the TC from the BOTTOM!!!
We only use 4 with 4x4's drilled to accept the jack post, but the nice thing about this over using sawhorses or the plywood x is that you can have the camper level on unlevel ground with full support from the screw jacks because of the height adjustment on each one.
