I test drove a workhorse (GM) chassis and didn't notice a difference from the ford.

RE: 2005 Fleetwood Expedition

That RV came with the C7 300hp, or maybe 330, not the C9 just verify. Cat engines were fine they did not want to jump through the EPA hoops and stopped that business in 2007. Had a 2007 Discovery for 6 years with the C7, never an issue.

RE: Headlights Went Out

If ford, most likely a relay, there is a group of 4 relays under the hood, switch the headlight one out for another to test.

RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

And what about those MH that don't have OBD2 my 36ft Bounder on a 1996 gvw 22500# Ford F53 chassis is OBD1, and i Dare say there are many similar MH, the 95 Safari DP we had before this, the 32ft Komfort we had 92 gmc p30 etcc,
Custom coaches on a bus conversion etc..Calif has gone nuts
In reading further into it it seems to be only for diesels.

RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

Apparently this is what the citizens of California wanted or they would not have voted for the people that have enacted these regulations. Basically you get what you voted for. I agree to a point but CARB is its own entity and does not bend to the will of the people, they pretty much do what they want.

RE: CARB smog testing motorhomes Every 4months by 2024

Nobody is denying you your right to recreate in a big RV. They are simoly trying to stop you from poluting the earth while you do it.
I average 1400 miles per year, so every 350 miles I will have to get a smog check, for what? Even if I did 10,000 miles per year, it is not going to pollute any more or less by getting it tested more, I have never failed a smog test. Makes no sense.

RE: Resealing Fiberglass Roof

Ok, I'm a bit puzzled.
As long as I've been on these forums, I have heard some folks say that they would only get an RV with a fiberglass roof and that they WOULD NEVER buy a rig with a rubber roof. The reason being was the extra maintenance required with a rubber roof, that they only last "X" years, yada yada.
Our rig, with a rubber roof, is about the same age as JCat's. I've sealed the original seams with Eternabond as needed over the years and generally just kept the roof clean, inspecting it Spring and Fall. I don't think it'll need to be replaced in the near future, but who knows?
So, I'm surprised that a fiberglass roof needs this type of attention after a similar time period.
Is this type of deterioration unusual for fiberglass roofs?
An inquiring mind would like to know. :)
Thanks,
~Rick
I'm in the same boat Rick, TPO roof 20 years old, used eternabond on the seams at the front and rear cap, sky lights, vents and I think I have many more years to go. I'm sure Bumpy will chime in.
To the OP, I would look into fiberglass resurfacing the areas that have cracks or see if something like liquid roof would work.

RE: generator auto start for charging?

Other than for A/C, recharging could be handled easily by solar. No start ups, no gasoline, no oil changes etc.No need to unplug the transfer switch will automatically switch it over to the gen power and when you shut it off it will revert back to the plug 120v

RE: best way to sell

Have sold 3 rvs on Craigslist, I still use CL all the time but also FB Marketplace. Just sold an item on CL in 1 day that was listed on FB for 2 weeks, use every outlet available.
BTW latest scam on CL is you get a text asking if its still available, then they ask if they can call you right now, then they ask if you are a real person and if so please verify because there are a lot of scammers out there and want to send you a link. DON'T DO IT!
