RE: Propane Tank level question

Wow, some of these guys need to find a different website to get their information. Lots of posts in this thread that make absolutely no sense, posted just for the sake of posting something. Thank God Doug is around...

RE: AC Question For Doug

That is correct. I had to tie into a 12V wire for a ceiling light which Grand Design had pulled close to the location There was also a 115V wire there. This is standard on Grand Design units prewired for a 2nd AC. Anyway... Here's an update. As stated above, the thermostat has functioned correctly since installation. It appears that the LED segments and backlight function correctly when the room temp hits 70 or lower. Anything above 70 and the brightness of the LEDs and backlight become close to the samebrightness and the Tstat is barely readable. I'm going with a bad thermostat. Wierd,,

RE: Replacing 50A Electric Cord

You might want to check out boat cords. They are much lighter and more flexible. No. Boat and RV cords are not interchangeable. The inlet end to the boat or RV is the same but the pedestal end is different.

RE: half of my outlets not working

Fuses have nothing to do with 115V power. GFIs will not reset if there is no voltage to them. Circuit breakers can and do go bad. To reset a C/B you have to push it all the way off and then push it on. Test the breaker by swapping it ith one of the others in the panel.

RE: AC Question For Doug

Several things to look at. The 12V wires were provided by the manuf. and were already in place, as was the thermostat cable. The thermostat came with molex connectors so I had to cut those off and butt connect to the t-stat cable. I was able to match colors so there was no confusion there. We did check for proper voltage on the 12V wiring they provided. I'm going back this weekend to double check everything. Thanks to all for all of the info.

RE: AC Question For Doug

Just curious.. What is the significance of 8.1V? What would create that particular voltage?

RE: AC Question For Doug

Never seen this. WHICH RVP Tstat do you have. They have about 20. Doug It's the 9430*340. It's a cool only thermostat. It came with Molex plugs but I had to cut them off and butt connect to the control cable. It was the only Cool Only t-stat I could find,

RE: AC Question For Doug

Actually, I'm not enjoying it any longer. I traded a few months back for a Grand Design fiver.

AC Question For Doug

I just installed a second AC in the fiver. This is a second unit so it is cool only, Coleman Mach15, ducted. I had a mobil RV help me with the installation and for reference he did the wiring will I was working on something else. Al of the modes work correctly. The problem is, when touching bat at the bottom to change modes, the numeric LED segments go dim and/or are washed out on the display by the back lighting. The unit will go into the selected mode and after a few seconds, the display returns to normal. Is this a wiring issue or a defective thermostat?

AirConditioner Discharge Openings

Are the discharge opening, where the uunit mate with the duct the same size for 13.5 and 15K units. Wondering if new RVs are ducted with larger duct so that either size capacity can be instaled. Have a 15K AC and looking to add a second.
