RE: Roadside assist

My GS Roadside Assistance is about to expire, so I compared it with FMCA. With FMCA, it will be 85 bucks a year for the membership and 129 for my fifth wheel. So that's $214 for the year. With GS, I'm already a member (for life) and was quoted $284.91 for 2 years or $599.80 for 5 years which is $119.96 a month. I've has to use GS RSA in the past for a flat tire and the service was OK - about a 1 hour wait. I'm not sure what the benefit of an FMCA membership is. GS gets me 10% at CG's - and I would not be interested in their Rallies or chapter affiliations. Think I'll stick with GS - unless someone can give me a compelling reason not to. Here's an additional benefit included in FMCA's base membership FMCAssist

RE: HOV Lanes in Atlanta GA

From the Atlanta rules, you ARE violating the Law. Doug I saw a guy run a red light yesterday. He didn't get pulled over. So, based on that, I guess it's ok to run red lights now.....:S...Dennis I was just letting that man know that while he can do what he is doing it is still a violation of the law. You can violate the law all the time. NOT getting caught is not an excuse to violate the law. Doug 'Executive' is a former LEO and I'm sure was agreeing with you but just being a bit facetious. ;)

RE: Looking for info on TSD Logistics

The original discount program TSD had with PFJ was just 5¢ per gallon. A couple of months ago they renegotiated a new discount program that is a big improvement but still not as good as Love's. Here are a few rough PFJ discount details: Minimum 0.0500 Maximum 1.0809* Median 0.3561 Average 0.3782 *Maximum discount >$1.00 shows at the following locations: 774 Snowville UT 3.5590 2.5559 1.0031 760 Cokeville WY 3.5590 2.5192 1.0398 141 Evanston WY 3.5590 2.4781 1.0809 761 Evanston WY 3.5590 2.4781 1.0809

RE: Looking for info on TSD Logistics

The other nice feature about using Love's is once you setup your EFS card in the Love's app you can activate the pump from your smart phone thereby avoiding having to swipe your card at the pump. Also right after fueling you can see your transaction (before the TSD fee) on the EFS app so you don't have to go inside to get a receipt or take a photo of the pump, unless of course you prefer to.

RE: Motor Coach Deliberately Crashed?

The following is a quote from the linked article: "Troopers found evidence the RV might have been intentionally crashed."

RE: Newmar Platinum Insurance ????

If you feel like you need an extended service contract, I agree with what others have posted about thoroughly reading it so you understand what is covered and what is not. I would then recommend contacting Wholesale Warranties to compare coverage and cost.

RE: diesel prices along I40

The TSD program is completely awesome "IF" you can find a Love's truckstop near you. I saved over .40/gallon off retail. It really does not discount PFJ much at all (I think the PFJ RV discount is better) and T/A isn't much better. The good news is that there are NO fees. It's designed for a fill-up of at least 100 gallons but there is no penalty if you don't. However, if you don't, on a regular basis, I suspect you will be dropped as this costs the company money. I have a 205 gallon fuel tank so taking on 100 gallons is a no-brainer. YMMV. With all due respect, I'm not sure where you're getting your information, but it is incorrect on a couple of points. 1. There is no minimum gallons per purchase requirement. Joy Hanson, CFO of TSD, has made this very clear. 2. There most certainly is a fee, however it's very reasonable at 10% of the savings between the retail price and TSD's published price for that day. 2a. If you use your EFS card at a location that TSD does not have a discount program with (you're paying full retail price), they will process the transaction and not charge any fee. 3. The nationwide average savings for Love's and T/A is virtually identical at 43¢ per gallon, which certainly make T/A a viable option depending on location. Of course there may be differences in a particular area. One of the features of fueling at Love's is once you have added your EFS card info to the Love's app you can start the pump from your smartphone and not have to swipe the card. You are correct regarding PFJ locations as TSD does not use those locations very often. Therefore the 5% (4.5% after fees) is merely a token gesture, and those that have a PFJ/GoodSam discount will do better. Keep in mind the reason TSD is offering and maintaining this program is because their discounts depend on the gallons purchased under their name. That's why your EFS card is issued in the name of Tri-State Delivery, which was TSD Logistics name when they originally started business in 1980.

RE: diesel prices along I40

If you'd like to save from 30¢ to 50¢ per gallon on diesel at Love's and/or TA, you might want to take a look at this TSD Logistics Fuel Discount Program

RettroBand Video IMO this is a sale hype video devoid of any technical info. It very well may work as advertised, but I personally still have questions.

RE: TSD Diesel Fuel Discount Program

I pulled into a Loves in SC checked the HIGH priced diesel, checked Gas Buddy and drove down the street 1/2 mile where I got it for .50 a gallon less at a Kroger grocery. I am around 72ft long including trailer and had no problem getting in and out. Plus the 2% back on the credit card. Most of the truck stops charge 5 to 10 cents more a gallon for using a credit card also. But hey, any you can save go for it. Just for the heck of it can you tell me the Loves location in SC and I will check the TSD price.

RE: TSD Diesel Fuel Discount Program

I haven't heard from anyone requesting a copy of the price sheets I referenced in my original post, but here's a little more information for those that might be interested. First of all the card you receive through TSD Logisitics is a EFS fuel card, which is the card that most commercial drivers use. The discount varies by the total amount of monthly fuel purchases. So obviously TSD put this program together to increase their fuel purchases. TSD purchases the majority of their fuel from Loves so that's where the best discounts are. The following is pricing from some randomly selected Loves locations (the Gas Buddy pricing is just the lowest I found for each location): Jacksonville, FL Loves Reg Price 3.049 TSD Price 2.675 Gross Savings 0.3743 TSD 10% Fee 0.0374 Final Net Price 2.71 Gas Buddy 2.68 Joplin, MO Loves Reg Price 2.892 TSD Price 2.421 Gross Savings 0.471 TSD 10% Fee 0.0471 Final Net Price 2.47 Gas Buddy 2.45 Memphis, TN Loves Reg Price 2.949 TSD Price 2.571 Gross Savings 0.378 TSD 10% Fee 0.0378 Final Net Price 2.61 Gas Buddy 2.56 Lodi, CA Loves Reg Price 3.989 TSD Price 3.435 Gross Savings 0.554 TSD 10% Fee 0.0554 Final Net Price 3.49 Gas Buddy 3.67

TSD Diesel Fuel Discount Program

There is a new diesel fuel discount program offered by TSD Logistics that gives substantial discounts at EFS locations (Love's, T/A, Flying J, etc). Program details TSD Fuel Discount Program They claim average savings of .20¢ to .40¢ per gallon. If you're interested you need to download, fill out and submit the Non-Motor Carrier forms from the website. The payment is handled as an ACH transaction through your bank checking account (similar to the RV Plus card but this is processed once per day). TSD's fee for this service is 10% of whatever the savings is. If there is no savings, then the transaction is processed free of charge. According to a conversation I had with them their best arrangement is with Love's where the savings can be in the .40¢ range, and T/A is in the .20¢ range. Pilot/Flying J is in the .05¢ range so if you have the RV Plus card you're better off using it. I am receiving daily pricing sheets for Loves, T/A and PFJ. If you're interested in receiving one or more of them just send me a PM with your email address.

RE: Atwood electric jacks control panel will not turn on

OK, just look at any jack you have. IF your jacks have 2- 2 wire quick connects, then you have the updated Jacks. But, BOTH wire connects need to be connected. Also, the NEW style controller has a bunch of LARGE 40 amp ATC fuses on the control board. It is almost square and the OLD control board is enclosed and rectangular and NO visible fuses. Just trying to save you a 200 mile round trip. Yes, the 4 wire new Jacks the sensor sends the signal to the control board that monitors how many rotations the motor has turned. The OLD style board did not do that as the old jacks had no sensor on the jacks. Doug PS, on the OLD system and you installed updated 4 wire jacks, you did not connect the sensor wires. Because there was nothing to connect the sensor too. IF you have the NEW style wire harness and Jacks and Controller, then someone has had the system updated before you purchased the unit. Years ago, Tiffin had an upgrade program at a reduced cost to update the old Atwood system to the new Atwood system. It may be your unit was one of those. Doug Just as additional info to what Doug has posted. I had the new jacks installed in my previous coach. Here is a pic of the old control module https://i.imgur.com/pdCVZY3l.jpg And a pic of the new one that was installed https://i.imgur.com/xSi0DMdl.jpg
