RE: Aftermarket trailer backup assist

Will you need an internet or wi-fi connection for both phones? I dont know how to link one phone as a remote camera to another as a display without the web connection. Many of our camp areas have poor/no connectivity. My question is really "Will the app would work without an internet connection?"

RE: New AC problem

30 amp or 50 amp trailer service? If 30, and other items such as the water heater, microwave, or coffee maker cycle on it could be an amp draw/low voltage problem. Ensure all the other appliances are off and see if the problem continues.

RE: Need help. New to rving

Silly question - just to be sure - you are plugged into shore power while trying to use electric to heat the water - right?

RE: Build Your Own Travel Trailer

Check out the user "Westend" - he did a great documentary thread when he built his "Cowboy Hilton". That thread is what hooked me on this site.

RE: outdoor shower help

My outside shower has a 1/8 turn on the actual water spray head (a twist ring on the sprayer) to turn rhe flow on and off. Certainly isnt marked, you just have to know it is there. Try twisting the bezel at the shower head to see if it is shut off. Be sure to point it away from yourself....dont ask how I know about that.

I think it is an external box for Dish satellite TV.

RE: Spring from chassis to slide out

Mine looks like a screen door return spring from Home Depot.

RE: Gnats

I have used the same. Usually have to change the vinegar after about two days. Seems as though it has to be fresh to work.

RE: Foam in tires

I have had foam filled tires in front loaders in a scrap yard and in UTVs. It is great for never flat in that environment. It adds a lot of weight and a lot of work ($$$) when they eventually have to be changed due to wear. It is also difficult to get them to balance, but that didnt matter in my low speed environment. When it came time for new loader and UTV I did not foam fill the tires. I decided it wasnt worth the cost.

RE: New camper with very little info on it.

With 2 valves it seems as though 1 is black and 1 is grey. Usually, the black is a larger diameter pipe. Only reason it would be good to know which is black and which is grey is so you will know which one to dump first (black).

RE: Any tips for installing a cover, without a roof ladder?

Dont make my mistake. I used a rope tossed over from one side to the other then tied an end to the cover and pulled it up, over and then down the other side. Problem was where the rope came over the top and down the side it was rubbing on the edge of the roof. The rubbing/abrasion of the rope wore a hole in the membrane and caused a leak that I ended up patching with a strip of eternabond. Now I carry the cover up a ladder and roll it out on the roof and then let it drape down the sides.

Welcome! Did you see the "sticky" at the top for cool mods? It is up to 270 pages now.

RE: Where's this brown water come from?

You isolated the water heater with the bypass before blowing out the system. Did you drain the water heater?

Support while wheels are off

I need to take the wheels in to have new tires intalled. I am trying to figure a way to support the trailer with all 4 wheels off. I would like to make it in 1 trip, that is why I want to do all 4 at once. I don't want to use the stab jacks to support it without the wheels. Any suggeztions on how best to support the trailer while all 4 wheels are off?

RE: How to add support to my Short Queen?

I took out the short queen and put in new 5/8 plywood for a full queen. I put in a memory foam mattress from amazon. (Dont open the mattress until in the trailer - it is much easier to handle while it is still vacuum sealed in the box.) I use a prop rod to support the deck while it is in the up position. Full size queen with better mattress has been way better! Longer mattress cut down on some walk around length but it did fit.

I think he means jack knife the trailer not lift it.

RE: Broken leaf springs - third time!

I had the clamp that encircles the multiple layers of the springpack break. This allowed the springpack leaves to spin out from each other. This meant all of the weight was carried by one leaf versus 4. Definately overloaded that one and caused it to break. I replaced the clamp with a worm drive hose clamp and it has been fine.
