RE: Bearings packed

I must be a one man pit crew then. It takes me just a little over an hour to do my two axle trailer.
"a little over an hour" is billed as TWO hours...
But in his lightning fast nascar diy 16minute wheel bearing service he’s saving the other 56 precious minutes of that second hour.
The more I think about this, the more laughable it becomes….
So Grit dog, what is so funny.
I'm curious.

RE: Bearings packed

Wow, that's what I call price gouging.
Considering it takes about one hour to do 4 wheels.
I disagree. If those are posted prices, you have the ability to decide if you want to pay for someone to do it, or invest $10 and do it yourself. The OP, or whomever else, can decide if its worth $230 to pay someone else or get their own hands dirty.
Its price gouging to sell water for $50/case after a hurricane.
It wasn't $230, he was quouted $400. That's $100 per wheel.:E

RE: Bearings packed

I absolutely agree with not trusting bearing buddies. Long story short, watch a few you tube videos. Its fine for a mid season grease up......Anyway, although I have done for myself I am getting a little old and have a huge to do list that keeps growing.... The only price I got so far was over $400. That seemed a little high.

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

Nothing wrong with a bark or two at times.
It is the constant bark that is dam annoying.

"......most likely like some on here you will be annoyed , yes get over it."
Unfortunately, that is the attitude of many people with noisy dogs.

RE: Pet Peeves in RV Parks

PEOPLE not keeping their dogs from barking!!!
My dogs only bark when someone comes around my campsite - if they stay away then they don't bark...
How do you stop a dog from barking? I yell at them but then you get to hear the dog bark and a person yelling...
Train them from a young age that there is no need to bark about nothing.

RE: trying to winterize without pump

If opening a faucet doesn't work, and most everything has already had AF pumped through it, including the toilet, I'd just blow air through the city hookup, opening the outside shower first.
This will force AF, that is in the lines, through and out the outside shower. After that, blow all lines, faucets, and low point drains. You don't need to have AF sitting in the lines all Winter. Open the low points, blow AF out there too.

RE: Pump Silencing & Accumulator

I have ordered an accumulator. Should its pressure be higher or lower than pump pressure? Im guessing higher? thanks for inputs!
The accumulator pressure should be set at the same PSI as the pump start up pressure.
Example: If pump starts at 30 PSI then set the accumulator pressure at 30 PSI.

RE: Trailer brakes not working

The OP said "...when on the road, no diff." ,so I presume that a road test was already tried.
Inertia based controllers need movement to operate properly, timed based controller do not need movement.

What is the make and model of the controller?
Sounds like a Proportional controller that is not calibrated.

RE: The GEO Method and Space Heaters - Thoughts?

"I would fill each tank half way (Gray and Black) with Calgon and Laundry detergent and then dump once we reach our destination"
I always put 1 cup of Galgon in the tanks before using, has worked good doing that way.
What you are doing should work good as well.

RE: Solar charger for 4 6v golf cart batteries LONG TERM?

For the effort I recommend looking at 200 to 600 watts mounted on the roof. Large home panels are best value and require an MPPT controller. May never start the generator again.

RE: Solar power

If that 11.5v is with the furnace off the battery is at 10% SOC.
If furnace is on, turn it off and check the voltage an hour later. Let us know the result.
