RE: Service, landing gear down, or while still hooked to truck?

If you add 2" to the inside of the wheel well you might face the possibility of the tires hitting the wheel well on some of our nice, smooth, no bump roads. Happened to me when I went up a little on tire size and hit a really rough road section.

Surely you expect the "sideways puller" was being sarcastic. Why not recognize humor?

Uneasy in ShadowMtn NFS cg in the Tetons ?

Reading the post and replies starting 7-7-19 made me interested in trying to stay there instead of in Gros Ventre but my wife is very uneasy about not being in a more controlled campground, not from a wildlife standpoint but from a "bad"people standpoint. Have you had any problems boondocking in this area and do you go off and leave your rig there unattended all day? Cell phone coverage there? I know it is sketchy in GTNP and YNP.

RE: Route from Cleveland TN to Asheville N c

Do this trip frequently and find it quicker and easier to go through Knoxville I-75 to I-40. My wife actually doesn't mind driving through Knoxville if I'm not feeling good. We pull a 35' fiver.

RE: Yellowstone glacier NP with no reservations

Gros Ventre in Grand Tetons rarely fills up. A long drive to Yellowstone for day trips but a lot to see in the Tetons

RE: Greetings and weight question

You can get the weight your Ram can carry by calling a Ram customer # and using your vin. They give you a specific "carry weight" for your truck equipped as it was when it left the factory. I forget the term they use but I would think it would be the same as pin weight. For my 2013 2500 the towing weight was 17,500 and the carry weight was right at 2,970. I don't remember where I saw the # but it was on one of the popular RV forums or maybe the Cummins forum.

RE: East Tennessee

Greenbrier CG north of G"burg up 321 might be what you would like. SWim in creek, nice open common area in center and sites next to or near creeks. Not a paved parking lot. Very close to Greenbrier entrance to GSMNP with some nice, easy, shorter hikes that can be stretched to much longer strenuous ones. Kind of like park cgs but FHUs.

RE: Docking Station

I may not be understanding your problem, but if I don't have access to a hose to fill through the convenience center I fill through the tank vent which is in a black plastic cover on the street side near the rear of the trailer about waist high. Remove cover by pulling up and out, then remove the screen and use a funnel to allow you to pour from a container into the tank. It will take a while if you try to completely fill a 40 gallon tank and is difficult to hold even a 5 gallon jug up that long so I set up a table and block up on it high enough to hold the container up. Some campgrounds we use have faucets spaced out through the cg so I carry 200 feet of zero gravity hose and a "water thief" in case the faucet is not threaded.

RE: Lube plate

Did not see what brand hitch. PullRite specifically says not to use a lube plate with their hitch.

RE: Journey of a Life Time

look at COE (CORPS OF ENGINEERS) especially in the south.. Many of them are FHU on rivers and very nice. Rates usually in the teens or half off with Seniors lifetime pass.

RE: Yellowstone with no hookups?

If you are there during real cold weather there are commercial campgrounds in Gardiner 1 mile from the northwest gate which is close to the northern part of the park and in West Yellowstone which would be closer to the southern parts. Better than ruining a lot of your time trying to keep everything going.

Travel thru Birmingham Bad construction downtown area

Heads up!!!!I-20 and I-65 and I-59 and I-22 thru downtown Bham will be very bad for the next year due to construction. I-20 and I-59 travelers can use the I-459 bypass easily. I-65 and I-22 travelers will have some very awkward, slow, detours. Try to get info ahead of time and plan ahead. Maybe avoid Bham on I-65 and I-22 if there is a reasonable other route. I-65 Bham to Nashville can be replaced by taking I-459 aroundBham to I-59 north to I-24in Ga then I-24 to Nashville This is an easy, pretty drive, all interstate and only about 20 minutes longer.

RE: Yellowstone/Tetons Big Site Campgrounds

Fishing Bridge can accomodate some over 40 MHs,we had one next to us last year. We like FB because of the central location. In the Tetons we like Gros Ventre because of the size, trees, animals, and location. There are a few (about 35) sites with electric hook-ups, first come first serve. GV hardly ever fills up.

RE: Planning a Trip to South Dakota & Wyoming

Rafter J Bar Ranch is a very nice cg in Hill City SD and the bike trail you mentioned runs right next to it. Hill City and several other small towns in the area are also interesting. Custer SP is great with the wildlife loop and the Needles area but DO NOT take your RV on these areas or Iron Mtn. Rd. If you do not see many bison stop at the small ranger station on the loop and they generally can tell you what dirt road to go down to see them. Walk the Mt. Rushmore park to get the real feeling and value of this monument. The Corn Palace may be hokey to some but I had never seen anything like it before and really enjoyed it.

RE: Yellowstone and Grand Tetons in June

Google YNP Forums and the other things that come up at that site like Trip Advisor. Lots of good specialized info there. We have been there several times but last year we hired a great private guide who knew the park and surrounding area like the back of her hand and was able to show us more animals than we ever were able to see on our own. A little pricey at about $400/day plus gratuity but she also had great scopes and binocs and had a morning snack and lunch. Well worth it to us. I will probably call here again next time we go.

RE: Fresh Water Tank Fell Out

LIPPERT probably put in what Cedar Creek designed and required of them. How do you know to blame Lippert?

If you Google "Front Mount Hitch"you will see several hitches from several companies with easy bolt on installation for your truck.
