RE: New Shock Time

When your shocks wear out its a gradual thing until one day you find your vehicle bouncing for a half a mile after hitting an overpass. At that point any new shock is going to be an improvement. I don't understand how shocks will help after you've done the canopener thing. Bouncing I think is the least of your worries. I believe he is refering to the poor transitions that most overpasses have at each end due to settlement at the abutments.

RE: Family National Parks Road Trip

I did the drive from Reno to Flagg in Grand Teton in one long day 5am to midnight. Remember that the speed limit from sw of Jackson to the park is not at freeway speeds and in the park it is 35 this will add hours to your planned drive time

RE: Best Truck Camper AGM battery?

28* that's not cold camping This is on the Chilly side but still not really cold, this was either Missouri or Nebraska last fall and my uninsulated AGMs worked just fine https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/78593933_3108419989174990_6277669726210490368_o.jpg?_nc_cat=107&_nc_sid=e007fa&_nc_ohc=0h_3M2W5rmMAX8J3TzC&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-2.xx&oh=93876c2c9dfd5788d2f510e207747361&oe=5ED79F38 width=600

RE: Best Truck Camper AGM battery?

AGM batteries are design for working upside down, or in applications where extreme shaking happens. What you do with your camper to require something like that? It lets you put a battery into a tight space where adding or checking water would be a royal PITA. Mine are crammed in at angle and it was install and forget. No watering systems or any other thing to bother with ever. It's a "Keep it simple stupid", solution just buy a battery watering system. I got mine off amazon (Canada)for 50 bucks. makes it easy as heck to top off water, I am even going to order a 4 GC set up for my 5th wheel now for the pure convenience. Steve you are still thinking of the batteries in a vertical orientation, AGMs can be stacked on their sides or tilted and need zero attention

RE: Best Truck Camper AGM battery?

Lifeline AGM. I pulled out that battery slide out tray and in that freed up space I was able to fit two group 31s. My Lifelines are going strong after 9 nears in the TC

RE: Is there never any under-dinette storage?

My 1055 has the dinette in the passenger rear corner. Under the back bench is the outside rear compartment where I can store a Honda 2000 water hoses, filters, electrical cables. Under the front bench is a cabinet with two shelves. The lower shelf can only be accessed from inside, the upper shelf is also accessible from the inside as well as an outside hatch.

RE: Torklift Talons

I have had both steel originals and Aluminum Talons. I have had the Talons since 2015 holding my 4600 pound !055 to my 2011 F350 Dually with zero issues In rain, Mud, Ice, Snow, and dirt, they still look new.

RE: Built in quiet inverter generator for truck camper?

Everyones situation is different. Some people don't mind setting up a portable. It seems that the times I most want to run a generator, are the times I least want to unload one and string cords. Like when I pull into a walmart lot in Atlanta in August for a quick overnight. Too hot to sleep, too noisy to have the windows all wide open, and the AC won't run on the batteries. Or waking up on a cold snowing morning to the low voltage beeping on the inverter. I'm on the go alot, and don't always set up camp for overnights. So the built in vs portable debate is already settled for me. K, that 20 year old Generac sounds like an ongoing project that I do not care to enjoy during the aforementioned environmental conditions, but thank you for the offer. I have a Torklift lock and load generator carrier. It's on my front hitch. It locks to the hitch and locks the generator in place and you can run the generator in the tray without taking it out. just plug in the shore cord and fire it up https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/91037268_3394087487274904_1000349568874840064_o.jpg?_nc_cat=103&_nc_sid=07e735&_nc_ohc=yPi6iLBhPZYAX8iixii&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=7f9a753b16c603011f603d01cc43c12d&oe=5EAA7FB4 width=600 https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/91138398_3394087443941575_8698923033563234304_o.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_sid=07e735&_nc_ohc=V7XjbIGTUdsAX-IMiY2&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=b1f140e8bd6c1b50dc25bf1afb0737df&oe=5EA8548A width=600 With Rain Cover https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/92002036_3394087387274914_4160591972765007872_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_sid=07e735&_nc_ohc=iMy1DmhRfTIAX8gc4fR&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=3e004eefc7d51fb66e4a81119b637a32&oe=5EAAAF54

RE: Front Hitch receiver F-250

They make a locking hitch pin that is threaded, a spring loaded nut fits inside the tube of whatever you are going to insert into the receiver. I use them and no sway at atl to the tray or bike rack https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Locks/Lets-Go-Aero/63232.html?feed=npn&gclid=CjwKCAiAp5nyBRABEiwApTwjXk50x20iJUmhxRHSvrVpsxjitnWqO-Lj30w7pXHlW6MxikTPSVmkLhoCKhwQAvD_BwE
