I met Ramblin Ralph today

I was up in the Sierras next to the West Fork of the Carson river above Hope Valley. I was packing up to leave and he walked up and we starting talking. He introduced himself and asked if I was on RV.net Such the small world. He is a really nice guy.

RE: Insurance and RAM 5500

For the camper get it it's own separate rider policy, covers it on or off the truck.

RE: Slide out to non slide

12 years, same camper no slide. I use the Lance 1055 over 100 nights a year. I have never felt cramped or felt the need to get a unit with a slide. Nothing to break and full use of the camper at all times works for me. So the camper you had before this one had a slide? nope, used my friends that did. didn't see the need for a slide. We are two adults and 4 dogs. The 1055 fits our KISS principle. If it doesn't move it is less likely to fail. Plus I like being able to just pop into use the bathroom or get to the fridge by just opening the back door while on the road or if I see a spot to fish get to my gear.

RE: Camper looks like its not level

also look at the lance roof it slopes down just a bit from the junction of the nose cap to the back end to prevent water pooling while on the camper. It adds to the visual rearward sloping illusion.

RE: What did you do to your Camper Today?

o on my fishing trip to Lake Amador this weekend I woke up to no power to my Norcold 641-3 fridge no inside power and no power to the selector display. So I checked the easiest things first. the fuses on the camper and the fuses on the power boards. all good. So I popped off the optical display / control button assembly and checked the voltage there. Voltage in, none out. Placed an order with the Norcold Guy on Monday. Board arrived today from Southern California. The wiring from the new module had a plug in to the front of the fridge mine didn't but the plug on the circuit board looked the same so I popped the board out of the housing pulled the fridge plug off the old board did the same with the new board plugged in the old wire and connector to the fridge hit power on and the display lit up. Selected propane and I heard the igniter and flame go on. 2 phillips head screws later I was back in business. I love easy diagnostics and fixes . FYI my fridge is 14 years old and had been on continuously for 12 years so I expect some things to fail. While I was at it I ordered a new power board assembly, because its 14 years old... within 2 hours of making the repair and on AC the freezer is down to 28F and the fridge is at 42F. normal is 14F and 35F

RE: West Coast Jamboree 2022, Who is Interested?

well shoot. I'm out. There has been a shuffling of horse show medics and due to a Equine Herpes Virus outbreak some shows got canceled and others are trying to pick up the slack. On the weekend of the rally Ruth has entered a show to make up for the ones canceled by EHV-1 and they also had their medic drop out. So now I am the Horse show medic for the weekend. Maybe next time.

RE: window caulk

Colored Geocel can't be sold in CA. From what I've read the colored versions violate California Air resources board (CARB) rules , I'm guessing that it has a volatile petroleum component that off gasses. Clear Version has a CARB exemption.

RE: Let's talk air bags...

I drive the same roads near San Jose. 2011 F350 4x4 dually CC lb with a 4600 pound (loaded) Lance 1055. I have upper and lower stable loads and Airbags (for when I tow the horse trailer). Not towing I may put 10psi in the airbags

RE: Trailer connect

Wire it like Lance does. Skip the trucks harness wiring system. Run an 8 gauge wire from the battery through a 50amp relay to the power pin of a dedicated camper bed plug. Truck on camper charges.

RE: New polar cub Mach 8 AC and the Honda eu2000i question

88 pounds versus 131 pounds honda handi eu3000i versus honda eu3000i. Honda 2200 is 47 pounds. Than single Honda 2200 is louder than 3000. I can only wonder how two 2200 running together will compare. well here is the math just plug in the DB number of the 2200i https://personalpages.manchester.ac.uk/staff/richard.baker/BasicAcoustics/5_addition_of_sound_intensities.html

RE: New polar cub Mach 8 AC and the Honda eu2000i question

I have the original Polar Cub 9200 and a Honda 2000 The key is letting the fan spin up to speed before turning the Cool settings on. Once the compressor kicks in I can run it on eco mode for 6 hours no problem
