Suspension & Shocks: doing maintenance & upgrades. Suggestions?

I am trying to gather information on doing some repairs and or maintenance on my RV and truck wile we are stuck home. Not looking gold plated parts, but don't want cheap stuff either. The more information I can get I hope to be better educated on my choices. Here some for the things I am looking into. Comfort Ride Slipper Springs and or including the Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers is it the preferred system my many RVers? You think Comfort Ride is that much better than the MoRryde? I have yellow colored shocks on my 2010 DRV now. with the equid flex suspension. Heard that the factory shocks are black in color. The shocks just might of been change out once before. I purchase the RV used several years ago. I now have a 2017 Ford 350 dually. Would you recommended changing out the shocks on the truck. Years ago I tried to do some research on shocks for my 99 250 Dodge. A lot of people said that the factory shocks on trucks are cheapest of the cheap and ware out fast, around at 20,000 miles. So at 75,000 miles I finally changed them out to heavy duty Bilstens. When I took the factory shocks off the truck, they seems to be functioning fine. Didn't notice any difference in ride at all. So, did some reading later on and a person who worked at a shock manufacturing company wrote a articular stating that the recycling yard is full of good shocks that people have replaced. Tires: I believe the DRV manual and or tires recommend 90 PSI plus when fully loaded. That doesn't been that I been doing the tire inflation wrong all this time. I tried like hell to find what would be the ideal pressure on my Ford 350 dually from Michelin and Ford company and all I could get out of either was to go by the driver’s side sticker. 60psi in the back and 70 psi in the front cold fully loaded Bottom line, I guest is that you just do the best you can with the information you have at the time.

Extended warranty. What are your thoughts

My 2017 Ford dually 350 truck has 12,000 miles on it. Thinking of buying an extended warranty????? I was picking up a B&W hitch I purchase at supply shop just after I purchased the Ford and ran into a Dodge service manager. He told me years ago that the best advice he would give anyone is to purchase an extended warranty before your truck factory warranty runs out. With the newer truck electronics, if anything needs replacing it will cost you thousands. Any recommendations and or advice?

How to improve 2017 Ford 350 head light output? See Update.

Update 1-23-20 I wasn't trying to start a battle here by not respecting other drivers. I am 63 and have good eyesight. I don't get a rush or laughs by blinding oncoming traffic. Just thought of getting well aligned head lights with better lighting for country back roads while driving at night. This 2017 F-350 dually truck does have automatic dimmer sense for high beams and works very well and fast, sensing far down the road, for oncoming traffic to low beam. If I wanted to a inconsiderate fool I would put on my truck Air Craft Landing Lights at 1 million candle watt power. I don't plan on using this truck for The Baja One Thousand off road racing at daytime or at night. I have a Ford 2017 350 dually and the headlights and truck at night are not all that great. I am retired 63 and don't do a lot of long night traveling anymore but would like to have better lighting a night. Some of the older LED head light bulbs like "Life Time LED's" cost a lot $150.00 and really do not put out the greatest patter or down the road light. Bought a set of the above brand several years ago and was very disappointed for my 99 dodge 2500. Think of trying those high output replacement bulb Sylvania Silverstar Ultra at the auto parts store for around $50.00. Heard that they are 100 percent brighter but have a much shorter life span. Just maybe they are making newer LED replacement bulbs much better and low cost now days.

RE: Planning a trip Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore, Deadwood Etc.

I live in Salem, Oregon and retired two years ago. Like a lot of RV'ers we are find out that it is a must to do your homework before heading out. I do not like staying over night at Wal-Mart type parking lots or some named RV Park that is one step above a home-less camp. It is getting were you need to start planning and making reservations 6 to 9 months in advanceto insure that you have a spot to stay. For example, the Oregon coast State Parks you need to book 6 months or more in advance or you will probably not get a RV site all summer long into October. I try to make RV trips in mid September. Good weather and hopefully trying to miss the crowds. We have been planing a trip to Utah, New Mexico, Arizona in May for a month to adviod the heat and crowds. Started planning in December of 2019 for a trip in May of 2020. Remember, every Man, Women, dog and child likes to go during the summer months because that is the only time they can take off for vacation. I hear Yellow Stone traffic in the summer months is like go through Portland,Oregon or LA during rush hour.

From Oregon:Suggestions on routes & camps from Hurricane Ut ???

I am not the best writer in the world so bear with me. I live in Salem, Oregon, 63 and now retired. Headed south May 1, for a month long trip to see the sites. I believe the route will be to Boise, Idaho first then to Salt Lake area Utah, New Mexico/Arizona to see the Indian ruins then back to Hurricane,Utah for 4 days then headed back home to Salem, Oregon. This will be a month-long trip. This is are first time headed south-west states. Wife has been trying to find and reserve campsites along the way, so we don’t end up spending the night along the road somewhere. Had an old 24 foot 5th wheel and now have 2010, 34 foot 5th wheel. The F-350 truck and RV when connected is approximately 50 foot long. Yes, every time we take the RV out, we think of downsizing in order to fit into more RV campground sites. The question I have now is , we will be headed back home from Hurricane, Utah. Not in and big hurry to get home and would like to find a reasonable route back home to Oregon. Thinking about driving 4 to 5 hours a day, get a campsite and relax. Might stay a couple of days at one spot or more if we like it. Been looking at possibly going up along the eastern part of California. I don’t know if road 395 is too busy and we miss a lot of quiet, back country. Any suggestions on routes, roads to take and safe campgrounds to stay at. Love trees, wildlife, hiking streams and quiet places. . Hopefully we find places like you been to, to get away form the city. PS: Get reservations months in advance if you are going anywhere in Oregon. I am talking about 9 months in advance for the coast area and or other eastern state camp sites.

RE: RV sites recommendations around Mesa Verde NP in May

I never spend time in the military or law enforcement. Said that, if it was not for people like you I wouldn't be here today enjoying a safe relax full retirement at 63. If I ever have the privilege of meeting you someday I would like to buy you a cup of coffee and thank you for you service. Next time you are at a football game, parade or special event and the Nation Anthem is about to be played or one of you fine service people walk by with the flag, look around, I will be the one with many others standing up with my hand over my heart giving "EARNED" respect to you fine service personnel. Merry Christmas from Oregon

RV Camp Suggtions around Burley Id. 84 hiway area?

Any suggestions for two nights stay around the junction of 84-86 in Idaho in the first week of May 2020. I guest Heyburn is the nearest City references I have. Was thinking of Castle Rocks State Park but, It is approximately 50 miles off of 84. If I can find a nice place a little closer in the area and save 100 miles trip off of 84 so be it. But if Castle Rocks State Park is the place to be and place to see we are willing to do it. Note: Headed to Heber City, Ut after that. First time on a long RV and don't know the good from the bad RV camps are. Don,t mine State and county parks either. Sometimes quite off the main road county RV sites are clean and nice, but some are like down town Portland, Oregon homeless camps. Retired now and trying to slow down at 63. I willing to give a hand up but not a hand out for the rest of ones life. If someone is physical and able mined I say; no workie no eatie, Veterans First are on my list to help out. Yes I worked in 20 minus degree weather for months on end and nothing was ever just given to me.

Propane Tank Gauge,recomendations please

For my two propane tanks I can not tell how much gas is in each of the tanks. These are large/ heavy tanks, back inside a pull out tray on the side of the 5th wheel. Is this brand a good one, Astor Pressure Propane Tank Gauge? Don't want to have to unhook the tanks, pull them out and take them to be refilled if they a near full or run out in the middle of a trip.
