RE: Noisy dogs

I agree. Most people don't realize that their dogs go crazy as soon as you leave the camper! And they know the sound of your vehicle and stop when you return. Our dogs do not go camping with us for this reason. If the dogs go crazy when the owners are gone, we politely let them know when they return so that they are aware and can rectify the issue. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but not the ones that go crazy while along while camping.
We have been a camping and some neighbors a few campers down had tow germman shepards. I was waiting on the camper to roll away because those dogs were running back and forth so much inside the camper. An hour or so later, the door flew open and out came a dog. I threw a piece of ham in the door the dog went in and i shut the door behind it. When they returned, I told them. Evidently one of the two broke out of the cage and went crazy inside and destroyed their couch and screen door.

RE: Are RV sewer hose supports necessary?

The only that that we have used one is if the rv outlet is lower higher than the ground drain, but the ground would run uphill. And 2, sometime is the hose if to long for the area, it just helps to keep it in place that that it want snake all over the ground.

RE: Where have all the members gone on this forum?

The information on the internet has expended vastly in the last 17 years. Many watch youtube videos to get their information. Sadly, many internet type forums are vanishing.

RE: Family Traditions

The more the merrier camping trips with big breakfast and dinners together. Some years for our summer beach trip, we may have 30+ people camping in our group.

RE: I know I wandered off...

They use to be great entry level prices. Now they cost as much as a fully self contained Travel Trailer.

RE: Handling “hard dried stuff” in the black tank ?

If you have time, fill it with water and let it sit. It will eventually soften up. Go for a drive before dumping to make sure loose. Repeat this process a few times.
Ice does nothing unless the water is already close to freezing to keep the ice from melting so fast.
I personally wouldn't dump boiling hot was down my plumbing (home or rv). Being a plumbers son, it could cause damage.
It the toilet drops straight into the black tank, you can try a wand to help the process. It if goes straight down, you can do as my uncle did and stick your broom stick handle down and try to help dislodge (he was warned not to keep his black tank opened).
Good luck! It sounds like a sh!tty job no matter how you look at it! lol

RE: Campgrounds that are open all year

Check out Ebenezer Park in Rock Hill, SC just south of Charlotte, NC. It is a county park on the Lake. about 70 full hookup sites with a very nice waterfront pier. Very quiet and around $25 a night.

RE: Myrtle beach

State park! Certainly avoid Lakewood, Ocean Lakes, and Pirateland if you want quiet and not a lot of golf carts.

RE: AT&T no more Wireless Home Phone

We still have an actual landline, but it doesn't get used much. Three reason, 1, for the business because it was the number before cellphone days. But the answering machine says to call the business cell phone. 2. 13 year olds call when they get off the bus, and they are to young for cellphones. 3, we have the multi phone cordless phone where only one has to be connected to the phone jack for it to work. Elderly family lives close by, and we want the phone to be heard if something is needed by them as we have 4 cordless phones around the house and don't want them to have to worry about what cell number to call hoping the phone is glued to someones side for them to hear it.
We were looking at transfer to verison home phone just to save the difference, but I am sort of concerned now about moving if it is potentially going to get dropped in the future.

RE: Got mice try this

Or save a lot of money and plug the holes in your RV.
Adult mice can squeeze through holes no bigger than a dime, fill the gaps between wiring harnesses and plumbing that go through to the outside and you won't be bothered by mice inside.
I don't care how well the holes get sealed. If there are mice, they will get in.

RE: How to carry blackstone griddle

It should be a grease coating to protect the top from rust. I have the 22" black stone. The griddle top flips over, I place the cover on that, then place in the blackstone griddle carrying bag.

RE: Liquid rubber

We are a fan of Heng's also. Very little prep involved. Wash the roof in powder laundry detergent, let it dry, and apply it.
