RE: black plastic waste pipe

You can not unglue, You can however cut it and use no hub clamps from your local Home Depot or Lowes. I did this with mine so I could replace the 3" waste valve. Just make sure you cut it straight as possible.

RE: Colorado to Maine

do I take I70 instead of I80? We have found I-70 preferable to I-80 across the middle of the country. Generally a lot less truck traffic and the road seems in better shape (probably because of less truck traffic). There's more to do in Springfield than just Lincoln's Grave. Lincoln Home NHS is definitely worth your time, as is the Lincoln Library. If you're going to Acadia from Niagara Falls, head east through the Adirondacks and the White Mountains (maybe take the Kancamagus Highway or US 302 through Crawford Notch). We're not big fans of big cities, esp. when towing. To visit Boston, we stayed at Shawme-Crowell State Forest not far from the Cape Cod Canal. (Scusset Beach State Reservation was closed at the time). Took the train into Boston. Also could visit the Cape. Took a day trip on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Rented some cruiser bicycles to tour the beaches. Newport RI has some amazing "cottages" (OK, mansions) right along the coast. The Cliff Walk allows you to walk along the amazing shoreline and look up at these amazing homes. Mystic Seaport, CT is an interesting place to stop and get a primer on seafaring in the 18th and 19th centuries. Great for mountain dwellers like us. Lots of historic vessels. Of all the big east coast cities to visit, Washington D.C. is #1 on our list. If you have the time and haven't been there, go! Plan on several days and just pick a few museums and monuments to visit. You can't see it all even with lots of days to do it. Other places to consider: Williamsburg, VA Steamtown NHS near Scranton, PA Monicello (what an amazing diversity of interests Jefferson had) Gettyburg, PA Since you "only" have a month, I'd make a beeline across the central part of the country out and back to concentrate on the sites in the east (although Springfield, IL is definitely a must do). The last time we went out, we rode Amtrak and took our tent and sleeping bags. Two days of train travel each direction then rented a car for a month. Still rushed (did spend five full days in D.C.). The DW is from Mass. so I have seen a lot of the stuff around Boston and surrounding areas. I have done DC and Gettysburg already.I don't have a month I am retired so I was just guessing at a time frame. But I do welcome all suggestions.

Colorado to Maine

I am planning a 2020 fall trip from Colorado to Maine, with stops at Rv Hall of Fame and Museum, maybe a GD factory tour, Niagara Falls, Cooperstown, Hyde Park NY(FDR), Lincolns grave site, Acadia. I really don't want to do the tolls but if I have to I will(would like to spend money on other things). Should I get an EZ pass? or do I take I70 instead of I80? Any suggestions for other stops? I am thinking this is a month or so trip.

RE: 70 through Colorado

Do you have a diesel? If so it will be a little faster the uphill climbs will so you down some. I tow a 10000 lbs TT with a diesel and I can go up most of the hills around 50-60 mph, But I have lived in Colorado all my life so I am very comfortable towing in the mountains. There are really 2 different spots that will slow you down going up to Eisenhower tunnel and Vail Pass.

Slideout adjustment

I have replaced by bulb seal on 2 of the 3 slides because they were tearing at the top and adjusted the slide but it is happening again. I don't wont to put new seals in before I resolve this the top of the slide is tight and the bottom has a 1" or so space. I have used the Lippert manual to adjust them but it isn't right yet. Anyone know the best way to adjust the tilt top and bottom?

RE: Hard for us to get past Grand Design

we went a 315 because we wanted a king bed. It is a little longer then we wanted but after having it for a year we have not regrets. Go to GrandDegsinowners.com and you will find a great community of GD owners and a wealth of knowledge

I received got this today put it here because of the 22.5 tires NHTSA Recall ID Number : 19T001 Synopsis : Dynamic Tire Corp (Dynamic) is recalling certain Sailun tires S698 157/154 L PR20 size 315/80R22.5 produced June 18, 2018-June 25, 2018. The TIN (Tire Identification Number) on the tire sidewall is incomplete and does not include the date of manufacture. As such, these tires fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic tires- other than passenger cars." Tires with an incomplete TIN and subject to a safety recall would be impossible to identify as being affected by a safety recall. Tires affected by a safety recall can increase the risk of a crash. Dynamic Tire will notify owners, and dealers will reimburse the purchase price or replace the tire, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2019. Owners may contact Dynamic Tire customer service at 1-905-595-5558.

RE: Anyone switched from blue ox 1500 to 2000lb bars?

Due to the tongue weight on my rv I’m going to purchase 2k lb bars from my blue ox sway pro. Has anyone stepped up in bar weight? Does it significantly stiffen up the ride? To get the truck where it needs to be I have to engage 11 links, which puts 1.5 links below the brackets. Which is right about the minimum. I’m wanting to buy heavier bars to increase that a bit. Am I on the right track or wasting money? Also, does this site have a classifieds where I can sell the 1500lb bars? First do you have the 2 1/2" tongue bxw2000? If not then it is not the proper hitch for the 2000 bars. I have a blue ox 2000 with the bars I had to size down to 1500 but as far as I know you cant go up without changing to the 2000lbs hitch. Call Blue Ox.

RE: Can't bring TT home because of neighbors parking in street?

Where do you live that an HOA can run the streets? They are public roads and HOA's can't run them.

RE: F350 def alarm

I have a Scan Gauge II and I programed it to show regen, that is the only way I know its in regen and when its done. I also have it show exhaust temp on the first sensor and it is interesting seeing it hit 1100 degrees sometimes.

RE: Motorhome to 5th wheel

I went from a Class A to a FW got rid of the FW in 1 1/2 years now have a TT and love it. If you go to a FW you need more truck than you think and new they are 60K up and most FW require a 1 ton min. We hated the stairs inside and I hated hooking and unhooking I have a short bed and had a slider hitch that was a PITA.JMHO

RE: Mopeka Tank Check

a couple years ago I purchased the Mopeka tank check system. I had the one with the inside monitor. It has worked fine until I replaced the batteries. Now tank 1 shows full and tank 2 shows empty and both tanks have been recently filled. When the Gateway became available I ordered one. Now the phone app shows both tanks empty.....I have done a couple of things that the trouble shooting hints said to do to no avail.....My friend bought his the same time I did mine and got so frustrated with his that he threw his in the trash. I do not want to go to that extreme. I have emailed the company a couple of times but their suggestions do not help either.... Call the manufacture they may replace it they did mine when I had the same issue.
