RE: RV Travel Insurance ??

"RV Travel Insurance"....sounds like a sucker move. No, it isn't. While I agree if at all possible book a campground that has a liberal cancellation policy that's not always an option. To answer you question: If you get ill then any insurance policy should cover it. Some are now covering for COVID related closures, bans, etc. I would check with Allianz about a policy. There are varying options at varying rates. The amount of a policy could be well less than penalties for multiple cancellations. The peace of mind can be well worth it. Remember these policies cover you from the time you purchase the policy through the entire vacation. Don't let the naysayers discourage you from at least looking into it. Your money, your decision, not subject to the scorn or comment of others.

Views on when to/not to allow a dog to be social

In puppy kindergarten today the question came up as to whether or not dogs that meet on a hike, street, etc., should be allowed to always socialize. Our instructor kind of contradicted herself-when she is out hiking with her dogs and they meet up with another dog she does not allow them to interact. Her concern is are they vaccinated or are they aggressive. Her dogs DO go to the doggie day care at the training facility. But then in the next breath she says to take them anywhere and everywhere to get the socialized. We've always allowed our dogs to interact with whatever dog they meet UNLESS it's obviously aggressive or looks ill. Thoughts? I know there will be varying opinions so please, be polite. If you disagree with someone feel free to say so but explain why. Thanks.

RE: Vax Passports

Do I care if someone looks at this info with their eyes and lets me in the hockey game? No I don’t care. Do I care if government requires I produce a government issue card with a chip or stripe that some private sports venue runs through a scanner for my “verification”? As a matter of fact, yes I do. Agree. Good comparison.

RE: Vax Passports

How about when the doctor's office asks to see your Medicare card and other insurance coverage? Apples and oranges. They are looking for payment. Vax card requestors are looking to deny entry.

RE: Visit to New England

I would check in advance to make sure there's availability. Some school systems have already to started so mid-week shouldn't be much of an issue but weekends might be. Acadia in ME, Mt. Washington/N. Conway in the White Mountains. Keep in mind you may have difficulty crossing back into the US if you go the Canadian route.

RE: Best route to skip New York and DC area going to Boston

Where do you hit I-90 from I-84? Sturbridge MA, about 10 or 15 miles SW of Worchester. It's Worcester (no "h"), pronounced "Wister" (no, I don't know how that works!). Interchange is about 20 miles from there. Corrected to make finding things easier.

"Hi (insert name here). I'm going to be in your neck of the woods (insert date(s)) here. Is there any chance I can use your driveway for (insert time frame here)? It would really be appreciated and I'd love to take you out to dinner for you troubles. If it's not possible, no worries. Thanks!"

RE: Your opinion on a tax return question...

d3500ram, we got our refund on our amended federal return last week, 14 months after it was received, so be patient after you refile.

RE: National Parks-New Mask Mandate

This article is referring to a reinstatement of the policy. It had been lifted for vaccinated people: https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/553876-biden-administration-lifts-mask-mandate-for-all-vaccinated-federal

National Parks-New Mask Mandate

Just a head's up that all national parks now require masks when indoors or in large crowds. https://www.nps.gov/aboutus/news/public-health-update.htm

RE: AARRGGHHHHH! Puppy biting!

He's starting to get better. It's mostly when he gets into zoomie mode that it happens. The nose bip and substitution with a toy is now starting to work. Not all of the time, but there is improvement.

RE: Going to Hawaii

I would call Hawaii Tourism or whatever agency handles that website and ask them what to do. It could be a glitch or it could be you have to wait until 24 hours prior so your info is most current.

RE: Just beginning to do homework

How would one prepare for those “incidents”? Bring a spare axle, and maybe a Cummins mechanic with? Lol. Nice story, but I don’t see the point. By making sure there's a "Plan B", allowing enough time for setbacks and accepting the fact something could go wrong. OP, the only reservation (no pun intended) about going to AK next year would be that it will likely be a very popular destination after 2 years of basically being shut down to travelers. Same can be said for just about anywhere. Life is short. Not enough time to worry about "it might be busy". Be prepared for crowds or travel closer to the off-season if possible.
