RE: Tesla with a generator on a hitch haul

As an owner of an EV vehicle, these vehicles use their energy (battery) to maintain the battery (energy) in an environment that works (not freezing cold). So the low amount of electricity will be used to keep the battery warmer, and remote start will warm the seats and steering wheel from the external source. I can tell you that range is impacted. However, I used my electric vehicle most of the Holiday season instead of my Cadillac based on short trips and fuel trips.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

www.nytimes.com/2021/01/28/business/gm-zero-emission-vehicles Thank you for putting a link to a subscription only article. Not sure why you are showing a link that is 11 months old (per the naming in the link). Nothing to do with a promised Semi. I think most individuals know that all OEMs are working toward a zero emission future. Maybe you should have highlighted that GM had started building electric Hummer pickups in a completely redone plant. Maybe you should have highlighted how FedEx now has the first 5 electric BrightDrop EV600 Vans for delivering in California. Where is the Semi? Did the CEO and Board not know that they needed to build another plant? Did they think they would just build it under a carnival tent in California? Amazing to announce and demonstrate products, and then be months and years late to delivery.

So I have spent some time watching some of these bowl games. I hope bagman is getting a chance to watch as well. There have been some interesting results.

RE: GMC Ecotech engine

It's a 4 cylinder although after it starts to grenade, it may become a 3. Not recommended. http://shiftinglanes.com/2016/12/chevys-new-1-5l-engines-are-melting-themselves/ So you went back 5 years ago to a posting when the engine was new. Since this vehicle was in the Malibu, Equinox, and Terrain, I am guessing that GM has built almost a million. And there is not any more current postings. The engine is sufficient for the Malibu/Equinox/Terrain. It is not the most powerful, but returns great fuel economy. Was getting 40 in Malibu, easily gets 34-37 in Equinox depending on trip.

RE: Great cooling system on them there SilverAdos!

Same guy who doesn't reset the TPMI after rotating the tires. I wouldn't mind so much if there was a way a mere mortal such as myself could do it but you need the special tool to communicate with the truck. I understand that they should reset, but I have purchased the relearn tool since I swap winter and summer wheels/tires on multiple vehicles. TPMS relearn

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

...There is a difference between a delayed product and presenting a product that does not actually function as presented... So the moral of the story is if you cannot build the product as presented (aka - Semi with all that range towing 80k lbs) then you just keep delaying the product and everything is good. Wow - and anything said by the CEO verbally or in an electronic manner is only his opinion, and not to be considered actual. And by the way, the real Super Trucks will have more deliveries very soon!

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Nikola Corp has agreed to pay $125 million to settle civil charges that it defrauded investors by misleading them about its products, technical advancements and commercial prospects, the U.S. securities regulator said on Tuesday. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/nikola-corp-agrees-pay-125 I was surprised to see any actual truck from Nikola. The real feat will be if the FCEV can be a commercial success. Meanwhile, a Texas company is holding nearly a billion dollars of deposits for something that was promised to be delivered last year or earlier, and it is not considered misleading. They even promised that your vehicle could be an autonomous ride hailing service and pay for your monthly payment for an extra $10k. That does not exist either. I guess we measure our companies by who the investor was and is.

RE: Tesla Semi truck unveil & test ride set for Oct 26th !

...Ford is going all in too. It's what I said awhile ago, when the OEM's start waking up, All the new startups are going to be in trouble. Ford CEO announced that Ford will be #2 behind Tesla in BEV by 2025(?). GM is unlikely to give up very easily. Phil I think we have been saying similar things. The OEMs experience will provide an advantage when the market is ready. Ford and GM have proven that they can build an electric vehicle. It appears that a couple of fan boys have nothing nice to say, but did not learn from their mom that if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing. I am guessing that you and I are waiting in great anticipation for the year-end financials. GM and Ford combined will probably make $20B more than that Texas company. And Ford and GM will provide real US sales numbers, not hiding behind global numbers.

Seems that one company - GM - has delivered on their ability to design, build and deliver an electric delivery van! BrightDrop EV600 Deliveries to FedEx Come back again next week to see what else gets delivered! Instead of just pictures of a plant, or CEOs telling what could be, GM has delivered on their Ultium platform.

RE: Antifreeze in transmission 2010 Duramax??

...Its sad GM decided to go with there new 10 speed "Branded" Allison in their new trucks, it's really not an Allison since they did not build or engineer it. If Dodge gets the new true Allison 9 speed this will be a game changer for them and I think many will jump brands to get it. Anyway, Cheers, glad to see your back on the road again! GM sold Allison transmission in 2007. GM built the 6-speed automatic transmission at the GM plant in Baltimore. From the Allison website: “We built the new 2020 Silverado HD with more differentiation than ever before, to meet the needs and priorities of our customers,” said Jaclyn McQuaid, chief engineer, Silverado HD. “By offering the new Allison 10-speed, tested and validated in partnership with Allison Transmission, each transmission will deliver the legendary quality and durability that customers have come to expect. I am looking forward to my new 10 speed truck.

GM did not say before 2023. You will see the electric Silverado soon, and is scheduled in 2023.

RE: Tesla Cybertuck - Can we take another thread?

Doesn't prove anything. GM promised 20 new EV's in 2023. Wonder how that is going and when they will walk back that promise. But I forgot they are the EV leader according to the leader of the free world. Tesla is the only EV company in the US along with a bunch of Wanna bees so they can boost their stock prices. Talk is cheap. I really don't understand why Washington today treats Tesla so poorly. You do realize that it is still 2021! There is another 24 months left before 2023. You do know that GM was including all countries, so some may be outside US, Canada and Mexico. Based on your comments, it is amazing that you think it is appropriate for Tesla to be years behind their announced dates and reservation payments.

RE: College Football Is Just Around The Corner, Can't Wait!

Gotta remember we’re talking about 18-21 year old young men, a bunch known for being inconsistent. They can be brilliant one day and buffoons the next. So Michigan sent their buffoons to East Lansing and saved their brilliance for the Buckeyes, good moves except for the East Lansing part. Buckeyes unloaded brilliance on Sparty, and sent their buffoons to Ann Arbor. So, Michiganders, send your brilliance to the playoffs. I don't disagree. I was concerned that the buffoons would not show up in Indy. Hopefully Indy was an indication that the brilliance has been raised to a new level and provided maturity to these young men.

RE: College Football Is Just Around The Corner, Can't Wait!

Thank-you Dadoffourgirls! Watched Oklahoma State vs Baylor and now watching Alabama vs Georgia. Believe it or NOT, I will be rooting for Michigan tonight over Iowa as I have lived in Michigan since Jan 1973. I am certainly glad that you were able to watch these games. And I am aware that you reside in Michigan, with an Ohio football heart. I think it has been 15 years or more on this site. I believe that you were one of the individuals who took a GM employee certificate from me. Wishing you a speedy recovery, and remember that there are individuals that trust your football insight and knowledge.

All these postings and no Semi or truck. Just more hype to be relevant. Almost like my daughters describing how clean their bedrooms would be.
