RE: Thinking about downsizing to a B

Thank you I’ll check out your suggestions. I’m really picky for this second RV, but it is what it is, lol. If I can’t find what I want, I’ll just keep begging the hubby to go camping in our 32 and a toad.

RE: Thinking about downsizing to a B

Thank you. I really want a dry bath and realize that’s a rarity. I love the Pleasure Way Pursuit at 22 feet long, but it is a Ford. Is there another class B similar to the Pursuit but diesel?

Thinking about downsizing to a B

I’ve been watching you tube videos and reading lots of forums and here is my list of things I’d like in a B. Older model with low mileage, dry bath, shorter in length like the Pursuit, no slide, not on a Ford chassis. I’m so confused so i decided to ask you experts! Does the Sprinter MB meet these requirements? We currently have a 2006 32 ft. Gulfstream Ultra towing a Jeep (shown below) which we will keep for longer trips when we will camp somewhere for a month or two. There are many times I’d like to have a no hassle, jump in and go kind of short trip and hubby won’t go because of the hassle. If I can find what I’m looking for, I can go by myself. Can anyone help a girl out???

RE: A question for all of you refrigerator experts...

Thanks to all! We found our problem. After Scott suggest it’s still running I went out and checked. I saw no lights so thought it was off. Then when Dutchman posted the PDF of the refrigerator manual I read it from front to back and noticed the diagram of the on off switch. No lights. Uh oh! So I went back to the barn and voila, the refrigerator was indeed ON! Thank you for catching my dumb mistake....y’all are the BEST!

RE: A question for all of you refrigerator experts...

I don’t have an ice maker and I went out and double checked...it is off. I do think there is a hugh buildup of ice inside the unit but not inside the compartments. They never had any ice buildup yet every morning I have an entire pan full of water which has melted. First time it’s ever done this. Thank you for the refrigerator manual. We bought it as a repo with 4,000 miles on it.

A question for all of you refrigerator experts...

We have an original Dometic Model RM 2652RV refrigerator in our 2006 Gulfstream Ultra Class C. It works great on the road and always has, but this time when we got home (after being gone for only one week), it keeps defrosting. By defrosting I mean we turn the refrigerator off, put towels in the bottom of the freezer and refrigerator compartments and leave the doors open. Usually the freezer towel has to be rung out a couple of times over a day or two and the refrigerator just has some moisture. After they dry out completely, we prop the doors open and leave them like that until our next trip. This time, we have been home a week and the freezer compartment nearly fills up with water and the towel has to rung out every day. Today, same. Any ideas about what is happening or comments?

RE: Is there a safe place to stay in Tucumcari?

Thank you for your suggestion. They also had an an Arby’s, Chester’s Pizza and other food available on the premises. Showers were available for truckers but I didn’t ask if RVers could also use them. Great place!

RE: Is there a safe place to stay in Tucumcari?

We found a Loves just outside of Tucumcari and as my hubby gassed us up I went in and asked if we could stay for a few hours. They have a special place for RVs away from the big rigs. Quiet, lighted and as safe as any Walmart. I give it a thumbs up!

Is there a safe place to stay in Tucumcari?

We don’t need an RV Park, just a place to pull off and sleep a few hours. Thanks!

RE: Recommendations needed for a nearby anniversary trip please.

You are exactly right! That’s what I’ve run into.....it’s 750 miles to everywhere I’d like to go. We have a wedding to attend or we’d just do it anyway. Eagles Nest does save is a hundred miles and gives us a chance to go by our daughters home in OKC on the way so it is where we’re heading. You guys never fail to get me on the right track. I’ve been to Fort Davis and love the area, the observatory and vibe of west Texas. Thanks again to everyone who weighed in. Any additional thoughts on Eagle’s Nest and area, please share.

RE: Recommendations needed for a nearby anniversary trip please.

GREAT IDEA! Any specific RV park or campground you’d recommend there?

Recommendations needed for a nearby anniversary trip please.

For our 45th anniversary next week, we just decided to take a short (1-2 weeks) RV trip to somewhere cool but don’t want to have to drive very far. We like places like Estes Park, but from us (Grove, Oklahoma) it is 775 miles away. Is there a place in the mountains or cooler temps you all could recommend? We will default to Waco, Texas and do the Magnolia/Fixer Upper sites which is only a little over 400 miles. I already had that trip planned, including Harvest Host stops, but the heat is stifling right now so I’m about to change my mind. Thanks for any info you will share.
