RE: St. Louis Recommendations?

While you are waiting search this Forum in the RV Parks section for `St. Louis' also `Saint Louis'. We always stay at Sundermeier.

RE: Got to Winterize my old camper.

I guess by now you should know how to do it. I use about 3 gallons of the pink stuff and it takes about 30 minutes. If any is left over I dump it into the Black Tank.

RE: Water line burst

We pump filtered water into the tank and only use the pump. Another good reason to always shut off the campground water when leaving the rig for any length of time.

RE: 27 footer vs 32 footer, towing/handling difference?

Going around corners eg. at fuel stations and campgrounds.

RE: Broken key, locked out of TT, no spare :(

For the future; we have never used the deadbolt. I wonder if one could saw off the deadbolt with a reciprocating saw and Diablo blade. I have a battery powered one and a plug in but only carry the battery one.

RE: 2020 planning

It's encouraging to think about summer plans when the snow falls and the wind blows.

RE: Leave slide out?

Just my $.03 but I say leave them out. I am in the process of replacing the gear motor of my only slide which will probably run around $1K. The more one uses the slide mechanisms the more likely they are to fail. After reading the other posts am I allowed to change my answer? Somehow I had in mind that the poster would be moving the slides every week which prompted the original response.

RE: It is mouse time again.

Just about the time when you think you have heard of everything along comes the spinning rod idea for reducing the surplus mouse population. Ingenious. However, the $1 mouse trap is more humane if that is a problem for someone.

RE: Extended Warrantee?

I like putting the money aside idea. Kinda like a Christmas club but for repairs.

RE: Are RV shows worth it?

If I wasn't in the market I certainly would not travel very far to attend a show; but that's just me.

RE: What is a 6.0L Chevy engine

It may be a great engine but just don't try towing up a hill. It creeps towing my 7500 lbs. but I don't like to run at 4000 rpm!

RE: Best route from Kentucky to Cody, Wyoming

See what Google Maps recommends AND get Mountain Directory West to help plan the route.

RE: Drawer Latches Failing

We use the child-proof plastic latches and the only time they break is when we forget they are installed and force the drawers open.

RE: South Dakota, July 2020

Rushmore and Crazy Horse can be done with one bus tour which includes lunch. Leave the driving to the experts.

RE: Difficulty Reducing Tongue Weight

Seems to me the truck is overloaded. I was going to suggest a Hensley Arrow but even that might not solve the problem if the truck is not up to the task. I tow 7500 with a 3/4 T truck which works just fine except the engine is underpowered but that's a different story.

RE: TT for full time living or negatives of trailer brands

There is no TT that is made for full-timing. However, that doesn't mean that some RVers live in their TT all the time. That's my $.03.

RE: Costs of things

I never thought of RVing as a way to save money vacationing. The biggest advantage of having your own rig is the convenience and comfort of having everything in the same place no matter where you roam. Even renting a cabin for a week or more isn't the same thing. Usually we don't worry about the cost of something while `camping' until the bills come due the next month!

RE: How many of you winter camp? Suggestions for winter camping?

While you are waiting search this Forum for `winter camping' and read on.

RE: Winterizing--water pump kit question

Just a crazy thought (actually two) but one could use a funnel and dump more pink stuff into the original container before it empties OR use a five gallon bucket and dump several gallons into it before pumping.

RE: Best way to repair crack in aluminum siding?

Instead of a hair dryer how about a heat gun. I just bought one at Amazon for $20 and it produces much more heat than a hair dryer.
