RE: RV Shopping

IMHO the bathroom is the least important area of any RV except, of course, if you bang your head on the ceiling. All of the other areas are used much more. Just my $.03 adjusted for inflation.

RE: is forest river rockwood mini2506s a good buy

A `good buy' for any RV is one where it works for the owners RVing lifestyle and not whether the price was 10% less.

RE: Concrete driveway thickness??

This is from Concrete.org: As for thickness, non-reinforced pavement four inches thick is standard for passenger car driveways. For heavier vehicles, a thickness of five inches is recommended. To eliminate standing water, the driveway should be sloped towards the street a minimum of one percent, or 1/8 inch per foot, for proper drainage.

RE: light film on cabinets

Do a Google search for `white film on house cabinets' for interesting reading that might be apropos to your situation.

RE: Missouri hwy 19

According to my Rand McNally Atlas it shows it is a scenic road and my rule is NEVER to pull a trailer on a scenic road.

RE: Any Trailers for Tall Adults and Tall Kids?

For what it's worth we have Twin Beds in our TT. I used to be 6 ft. 4 inches but must have shrunk in 81 years.

RE: RV park close to Farragut, TN

Can't help with campgrounds but would suggest doing a Google search for `Farragut, TN tourism' and see what is recommended.

RE: Suburban oven pilot will not stay lit

Why would you want to light the oven. We use ours for storage!

RE: Fresh water hose storage

I keep the FW hose in the back of my Suburban.

RE: Yellowstone in October

Grizzly is one of the most beautifully landscaped RV parks we have ever stayed in and it is right next to the Grizzly and Wolf sanctuary where you can get closer to wolves than you ever wanted to.

RE: Should I connect my sewer line when camping?

One advantage to waiting to hook up is if your stay is not long enough to require dumping you have eliminated one nasty job.

RE: Has anyone owned a 2009 Ford Majestic Campervan?

What are the odds that someone has or had one that reads this Forum? I assume you did a Google search...

RE: Any good/cheap electric razor for camping?

I have always used the rotary type vs the back and forth models. I think they are easier on ones delicate skin.

RE: Is camping Fun Anymore

For boondocking I think you and I are living on the wrong side of the Mississippi River.

RE: no power

Our 12 volt system died in the dealers driveway and it was the circuit breaker that was hidden under the rig for the main cable coming out of the battery. It was originally a manual reset (believe it or not) but they changed it to auto reset. I never knew it even existed until the problem.

RE: Life of a trailer slide out?

We had to replace the motor for our slide this past year but that's the only problem we had. We wouldn't want a rig without a slide that provides much more living space when camped; but that's us.

RE: Electric Bikes???

My wife and I have four electric bikes and have put literally thousands of miles on them in the past few years. Our goal each year is 2000 miles. We have them because, at 80* years of age, we cannot pedal the normal bike like we used to and the electric takes about half the load off. Some comments: electric bikes are much heavier than non-electric You should have a local dealer that can work on them. Mine's a center mount and DW has a rear hub motor. Pedal assist requires the pedals to be rotated to turn on the motor Cruise allows the motor to run without pedaling. Handy at the end of the day. Lithium ion batteries are better than wet cell. Many e-bikes are pegged at 20 mph. Plenty fast for us seniors.

RE: Hauler to get my trailer from Florida to Canada?

I wonder how the cost compares of hauling the Utility Trailer vs selling it where it is and buying another one if and when...

RE: slide vs no slide

It's easy. Visit one or more dealers/shows and, while sitting in one, think about the activities you will do inside and whether or not the extra room would be beneficial while moving around. Slides must not be necessary because I haven't seen an Airstream with one. I have an opinion for us BUT it doesn't count for you.

RE: Week in Maine. Where would you go?

Do a Google search for `Maine tourism' and read what the experts recommend. I'd have a lobster in Bar Harbor!
