RE: cleaning 7-pin receiver connector on truck

In the old days I used to drill out the female connectors to get rid of corrosion. Also try spraying Corrosion X into the male connectors.

RE: Having Difficulty Finding Replacement Roof Vent Covers

Any chance Jayco could identify them using the VIN? Once replaced I would recommend Maxxair or other covers over the covers. Keeps the sun off and allows the small covers to be open in the rain and/or underway. I just checked a very old RV parts catalog and found Vent Mate lids that look a lot like yours. Try Ventmate-products.com

RE: Snow Birding

If possible it might be a good idea to stay one month at each of several places before committing to several months at one place. Emphasis on the `if possible'.

RE: New to RVs.....A Few Newbie Questions

You can spend some valuable time searching this Forum for various topics one of which might be the make/model of the RV you are considering. Someone has probably already purchased it and spent some time in it so you can get experience and not even have to leave your house.

RE: Suggestions for a Weight Distribution Hitch

X2 on Bob213. I like the Equal-i-zer because of its simple design and no chains.

RE: 3rd AC

Do you have Maxxair (or other) covers over the roof vents?

RE: how to make a Towed Car Protection Shield

One experienced RVer made one out of plywood.

RE: RV roof vent cover

Were the covers open while driving? If so, they can vibrate from the wind pressure and disappear. Either keep them closed or install Maxxair covers. I'm surprised you never installed them heretofore.

RE: How to get slide out manually.

Don't know for this model but ours has an electric motor that drives a shaft with gears that drive slotted rails. We could move the shaft with two people with pipe wrenches. But our motor was disconnected so it did not prohibit moving the shaft.

RE: Just beginning to do homework

We flew to Alaska and took a 10 day boat/train tour which was wonderful. Able to see much with no strain. A possibility for you?

RE: Route 66 in a Motorhome

There have been several books on the subject which you might want to check in preparation for this nostalgic trip.

RE: Road restrictions on our route?

Check out Waze.com. I think it is supposed to show road conditions but have only used it once.

RE: Does closing most A/C vents create back-pressure?

Just slightly off topic but too large an A/C can cool off the air without reducing the humidity which leaves one cold and clammy.
