RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning everyone. Yesterday I got a call from DR. Myer who I am scheduled to have eye surgery with April 29th. I was told my surgery will be postponed until June 3rd. After consulting with Dr. Chow it was concluded the only good eye I have has something going on that at this time it is not safe to any kind of surgery. Dr. Chow is a Retina specialist and he thinks I have a condition that the retina could detach during the removal of the cataract. So Dr. Chow is considering doing the surgery himself or maybe I will not have surgery at all. So to keep me in the loop they rescheduled me for June instead of dropping me altogether. The place they are concerned about is in the center of the eye and if it separates there I will have a hole in my vision and there is nothing that can be done for that.So keep me in your prayers as this continues to unfold. Meanwhile we are leaving tomorrow to go to Magnolia Springs State Park. Son Scott will meet us there for a weekend of fishing and campfire meetings. We plan to visit some folks in Waynesboro while we are that close and go by and see the old home place. Sue is out with Dixie and Suzie while Lizzie is on the back of the couch looking out the window. She waits for them to return and then talks to Sue about why she cannot go for a walk with them. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. It was 39 degrees here in the Deep South this morning. We have clear skies with lots of sunshine and it well warm up today to be in the 70's. The fur gang is well. Sue just left with Dixie and Suzie for their morning walk. I don't know where the cat is. Maybe she is in her room. She just came into the room looking up as she walked by. Now she is on the back of the couch looking out the window watching for Sue and the girls to come back. Yesterday I hooked the camper to the truck and pulled it up in the driveway next to the house. I had one heck of a time getting the camper hooked to the hitch. If you are not dead center with the pin going into the hitch the head will turn to an angle and never lock. Then if the pin pushes the head to a sharp angle it may bind and getting it to release becomes a major job. Anyway I am hooked and in the driveway. I hope all is well with everyone and I wish you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them. Just a note to mention that it is a shame that Notre Dame burned yesterday. For eight hundred years it has stood as part history. Such a landmark that has been destroyed. Sue told me it took five thousand oak trees to build it.

My Cookie has not been feeling too good this weekend so todsy we have a Vets appointment. Her stool has been really runny and this morning she was back to somewhat normal on her stool but she did throw up and it looked a little bloody. I don't know if it is the food or just her age, 14 years old. The food is the same she has been eating it for years. My other Shih Tzu is doing great and he eats the same food although not as quick as he usually does. I'm taking a sample of the food in to the Vet, along with a stool sample and I was able to get some of the vomit in a plastic bag. The food is dry and a well known brand. On the brighter side of the past few days the weather has been great, 70's during the days and high 40's at night. This is a lot better then Northern Utah, glad we moved. Don't miss the snow blower at all. Hope Cookie is okay.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning everyone. Yesterday was a day of mixed weather. It was raining most of the day with very high winds. Last night or early this morning high winds went through a neighborhood close to us causing a lot of damage. Homes with roofs blown off and trees down, no reports of any injuries. Well I don't know if we have any Tiger Woods fans out there, but after an eleven year drought he won the Masters' Tournament yesterday. Personally I was glad to see him make a comeback. We all make mistakes in our lives and he certainly did, but now he has a chance to show he is a better man who has learned from his mistakes. Great tournament Tiger. Yesterday brought back memories of my youth and having met such golfers as Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicolson, Gary Player, Sam Snead. When we had the Lincoln Mercury dealership in Augusta, Georgia we would loan cars to the golfer for the week of the Masters. They depended on us to have their cars ready and at the airport. Sometimes we would have trouble getting the cars in prepped, clean and the keys at the front desk on time. However we did manage to keep everyone happy. But there were those who would leave the cars somewhere in Augusta and we would have to find them. With the help of the city police and the sheriff's department we would get them all back. Arnold Palmer would always return his loaner car to the dealership and we would take him to the airport. I look at the 72 Lincoln setting in the garage and think that's the car Arnold drove in 1972 during the Masters. I look at the letter he wrote thanking me for loaning him the car and saying he was glad I got it back. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

We had a nice rain last night. Is was about 1/2 inch and we really needed it. We spent the weekend in the Immokalee Hard Rock hotel. We saw a show with Paula Dean on Saturday night and then had a meet and greet with her on Sunday morning. The line was long but it moved pretty quick. We also received a free air fryer and an autographed Paula Dean cook book. My wife absolutely loves Paula Dean and was like a little kid when she met her. She actually ran into Paula in the Casino late Saturday night and got to talk to her a bit. It was a fun weekend but I am really tired today. Getting to old to stay up that late. I am usually in bed by 9:30-10pm every night as we get up at 5am for work. Here is our picture with Paula. https://i.imgur.com/CIXercnl.jpg Nice picture

Richard, so sorry you're not feeling well in the mornings. Have you researched the affects of your meds? Especially any new or changed ones? I have researched all the meds and have come up with two that might cause the problems I am having. I am beginning to wonder if I am having gallbladder trouble?

Good morning everyone. The weather is stormy with heavy bands of rain coming through. So far there hasn't been lightening nor strong winds but according to the weather forecast we can expect some with the possibility of hail. The fur gang is well, haven eaten their breakfast. Dixie and Suzie see it is raining very hard so they are not really wanting to go for a walk. I am feeling somewhat better this morning, but no can explain the nausea I feel every morning. Sometimes its bad, sometimes it's not, this morning it's kind of bothersome. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug fir me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. It looks like rain this morning and tomorrow is supposed to be very stormy. I hope everyone is well and enjoying the weekend. Sue just left with Ava going to Wood Mont School for some kind activity. Dixie and Suzie are confused about what is going on. They normally go for a walk with Sue as soon as breakfast is over, but with Sue leaving early they will have to wait for me to get ready to take them. I am having a hard time getting ready this morning but I will get there, Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Good morning everyone. I hope Pickles had a great birthday, by the way how old is Pickles? Boy I don't know what is going on with me but I have so many things it's hard to tell what is wrong. I don't know if it is the reaction from the new medicine Dr. Goldsmith prescribed or its a late reaction from my visit to Dr. Flanagan. I hope whatever it is it passes quickly. Dixie and Suzie are fine as is Lizzie. Sue is doing good, I am the only one that a bit under the weather. Yesterday I called Magnolia Springs State Park and extended our stay for a few more days. Sue and I like Magnolia Springs, it's a nice little park and it is close to Waynesboro. I really miss the old home place, lots of beautiful memories. Maybe we will be able to stop and pay a visit to our old home at 504 Jones Avenue. I would love to see what has been going on since we left nine years ago. The neighborhood hasn't changed that much since we left, pretty much the same folks living on the block. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. Well Dan, we might have to start calling you the bird man. We had a similar experience years ago with a nest in the pin box of the camper, didn't notice it until we got to our camping spot and found three baby birds in a nest inside the box. I tried to keep them alive until we got back home but they didn't make it. We have Blue birds in the bird houses we have set up around the yard, hope they raise their babies and decided to stay with us. Sue went to Ava's house last night to baby sit their fur babies, Lizzie has been looking for her thinking I have done something with her. Spring has finally arrived. Yesterday the folks in the neighborhood were out cutting grass. Our new neighbor has a beautiful stand of grass. I don't recognize what kind of grass it is, something new to our area, but it sure has filled in since he moved in. At first I thought it was a winter grass but he told me it was good for both summer and winter. Dixie and Suzie are well, waiting on me to get ready to take them for a walk, so I had better get moving. Have a blessed day and be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here in the Deep South. Lots of sunshine, clear skies and it's 58 degrees, nice morning for a walk. Dixie and Suzie are put with Sue for their morning walk while Lizzie watches out the window from the back of the sofa. We had some rain yesterday, but not much. I was able to cut the large root that was in the gravel driveway down by the camper. It was a tough cut as the root had turned to cement. Today I have to go to the doctor for the pre-op for the surgery on my right eye. I will be glad with it's over. Removing a cataract isn't that big of a deal in today's knowledge, but when it's the only eye you have its a big deal. I hope all is well with everyone and I wish you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someoneyou love them.

Good morning everyone. It's very cloudy and it looks like more rain coming our way. It is 64 degrees outside right now and we expect a high today of 77 degrees, Things are turning green in a hurry since we have warmed up and had some rain. Yesterday I cut up a huge root that was in the driveway, back where the camper is stored. Since we have new neighbors and the property line has been better defined I found out I have been using some of his property as my driveway. The root wasn't a problem until I had to move over and then it became a huge bump, so I decided to remove it, it wasn't easy. Sue just got back with the girls. They love their morning walk. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. Heavy fog again this morning, need fog horn to navigate in this mess. Today we are forecast to have some bad weather with strong thunderstorms and possible hail. Hope we don't see any of that. We are doing well, looking forward to getting the day started. Sue is walking out the door with Dixie and Suzie, going for their morning walk while Lizzie watches from the window. The neighbors have a pretty tabby cat that is about five years old, She is an outside cat, so lately she has been hanging around our house looking for attention. She comes running up and wraps herself around my legs and talks to me every night when I go out to check on things before going to bed. She has figured out what time I go out and she meets me at the door. I stop and pet her and talk with her for a while and that seems to make her happy, also I give her some treats so maybe that is one reason she meets me every night. I hope everyone is well and looking forward to a blessed ay week. I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a ug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. The fog is so dense this morning you cannot see very far so driving will be dangerous. The fur babies are well, still waiting on Sue to get out of bed. I have an 8:45 meeting at church so I am up early. I hope all is well with everyone. The weather forecast calls for rain today and tomorrow with temperatures in the lower 70's. We have birds building nests in the birdhouses so soon we will baby birds learning to fly and taking their place in God's Nature. I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them. We will leave a light on just in case someone needs to place to stay.

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning everyone. Spring has finally arrived. We will be in the mid to upper 70's all next week with lows in the mid to upper 50's. Rain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday and the grass is turning green with all the flowering plants doing their thing. Mary, Sue's friend from Michigan went home yesterday and texted Sue on her arrival in Grand Rapids at about 10:30am. Sue took her to the airport at 4am so she would be on time for her flight. Sue got back home and went back to bed by 4:55am. We both slept longer than we should have but it was nice sleeping hearing the rain falling outside. The pollen was washed away by the rain, all except what is on the porch, so I will hose that off sometime today. Our 81 year old neighbor went on their trip to South Georgia with their new to them camper and blew out two tires on the trip. When they got home they bought five new tires and now ready for their next trip to Raleigh North Carolina next week. I wish he had talked to me before buying tires I would have steered him away from the China maypops. Sue is getting ready to walk with Dixie and Suzie. Dixie is following Sue whining and crying to hit the road while Suzie is in the bedroom sulking because I put the flea stuff on her. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them

RE: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning everyone. Burch I am glad Murphy is doing good and I hope you enjoy your weekend. It was raining this morning when we got up, a welcomes sight as we needed it. Sue got up at 3am to take her friend Mary to the airport for her flight back to Grand Rapids. she seemed to enjoy her stay as she and Sue talked for hours catching up on years worth of happenings. Mary and Sue went to school together and Sue is Mary's daughter God Mother. I am glad they had this time together. Suzie had to be watched as she would surprise Mary at times with a bark or a look of what are you doing in my house? Mary learned to accept Suzie's stares and pranks but she was always looking for the unexpected from her. We went to Brevard North Carolina yesterday so Mary could get a look at some of the mountains we have here. It is a beautiful drive and at the end of the trip there are some very nice places to have lunch. HWY 276 is not one to pull a heavy fifth wheel on. There is a State Park at Caesar's Head but it's for those with a strong heart and a dare devil attitude. It's mostly for popups, tents and small campers. The overlook is beautiful in the fall and spring when the mountains are full of color. The fur gang is well this morning, waiting on the rain to stop so they can go for a walk. It's 55 degrees right now so it's not cold. I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here in the Deep South. It was 45 degrees when we got up this morning. The forecast is for sunshine and temps in the 70's. Hope Murphy is doing okay. Walter are you home yet? The new mower was delivered yesterday and I mowed part of the lawn, This mower is much more responsive than the Cub Cadet. It turns quicker and is much faster, so I need to put on my driver's helmet and put seat belts on it. The fur gang is well and out with Sue for their walk. The other part of the fur gang is watching form the window as they make their way down the street. Lizzie is a nice kitty. She loves to chase bits of paper and will dig through Sue's purse to find receipts and then she will play with them until Dixie steals them for herself. Suzie thinks all of this is beneath her dignity, child's play, so she watches from a distance. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
